I should rephrase myself because your right. It is user friendly but I used to click on games and see who people played and what not, was able to check rosters on easier. Maybe I’m just dumb, which is a real possibility lol, but I haven’t found ways to look at team rosters and stuff like that. If there is, help a brother out haha

Sorry about that. You're right, those pages are missing. Ultimately they weren't getting a ton of traffic on the old site and were not prioritized for the new site because of that. They may return at some point but no plans currently. While we don't have those pages any more we're working hard to push updates/improvements to the new site that we hope will make up for it.

I'm not seeing this. Are you still experiencing this issue?

VODs for most regions including LPL can be found here:

I would also like to mention that the new "Schedule" tab is fucking awful. Before you could just select which week you would like to look at, now you have to scroll and scroll to look for certain matches and sometimes it just bugs out and resets your scroll. It's so bad.

Hey, sorry to hear you're having issues with it resetting your scroll position. That should not be happening. If you're able to find a way to consistently reproduce it, please let me know so our team can look to fix it. I'll go ahead and mention it to the team so they're aware of it.

As for the changes we've made to the schedule layout, we looked at a lot of the feedback we've received over the years. Two versions ago, we had a global schedule on lolesports.com and we got a lot of feedback that it was hard to find matches for just a single league.

So when we redesigned that to make it easier to find schedule information for a single league, we ended up splitting the entire site into content by league. So you select a league then go to their schedule or their standings. This made it easier for you if you were only interested in a single league, but created a new pain point for trying to follow multiple leagues. To find out information about Europe and Korea leagues (for instance)...

Wait.. I've been avoiding it ever since they changed the format of the site because I absolutely can't stand it. But how do I even look at who is on the teams???

We kinda soft launched this feature because there isn't a ton of information on the pages atm (just rosters), but we do have new Team pages on watch.lolesports.com. You can access them from the standings page of any league just by clicking on the team.

They also only have LCS Teams instead of LPL, LCK or EU teams and what if I wanna look at other regions' rosters and subs?

Check out watch.lolesports.com and you should be able to access all of those things for the leagues you're interested in.

If you'll forgive me a minor drunken rant about things that are in no way your fault, the fact that a web designer can somehow screw up scrolling is insane to me.

I'll take this moment to say I'm not criticizing y'all as bad designers, but criticizing HTML, CSS, and Javascript for making that possible in the first place.

Sidenote: I'm one of probably a single-digits-number of people who use a mouse without a scroll wheel (random HP 3-button mouse I bought off eBay) and while I love it for gaming, dear god, does everybody and their mother just assume you have a scroll wheel these days. Using middle click to bring up the little scroll thing works in most things, but then some programs (like WINDOWS EXPLORER FOR SOME GODDAMN REASON) just don't support it, so I have to click on the scroll bar/arrow keys (BTW your website supports this, but only if you're not mousing over a match. Amusingly, it works on the filters on the side, but not on the main body itself).

But damn, it's nice having that extra button for games. At least, the games that let me bind it to something useful (looking at you, Guild Wars 2, that won't let me rebind left and right click).

Ok, rant over. You guys are great, keep doing what you're doing, sorry you have to deal with such shitty tools to make amazing content.

Haha, drunken rant accepted. Going to be real with you here. I've been designing for lolesports.com for 4 years now and I don't think not having a mouse wheel has ever been brought up or even considered. Unfortunately I don't know how or why things aren't working as expected with your wheel-less mouse but if you do and have some info for me I'd be happy to pass it along to our engineering team. I can assure you we've got some top notch talent working on the engineering side of lolesports.com, but I'll give you that no one has tested anything using a mouse with no scroll wheel. :(

I line that one honestly.

Ne having to use third party websites to know when MSI starts is stupid af tho, why isn't this just in the schedule by default? Like lec summer split start, worlds 2019 start etc. Now way they don't know that yet

Hey, I agree this can be a little frustrating. We're currently waiting for the group draw show to happen. Once that happens all of the schedule data will be in the system and we can display it on the schedule on the site. This means MSI should be on the schedule no earlier than the 23rd or 24th. I'll talk with the team about better ways to message this in the future.

Is there any way to see match statistics for LCS games anymore? The only way I can find to see stuff like damage percentage is to look at the stats during the game, but it seems to be impossible to look at this stuff after the game is over.

Unfortunately there is not a way to view this information right now.

Blood_X

Ohh ok. Thank you.

Are there plans to make "Teams" it's own dedicated page like it was in the past, where you can just click at the top? Having to go to standings seems like extra clicks and unintuitive :o I kept trying to wade through the information in the Nexus site for teams thinking I'd be able to find the classic "Teams" info like rosters but it was just news. Looks like the LEC is missing this button too, though the team pages are a bit more fleshed out.

I believe the Standings tab on the old site was called "Teams & Standings" which is definitely clearer but also a little long so we shortened it. Thanks for letting us know that this wasn't as intuitive for you. We'll keep an eye on this one and possibly look to change the name of the nav item in the future.

Even scheduling TBA vs TBA or MSI opening game is more than enough honestly. Appreciating that you're hanging out here hearing the complaints, but I'm honestly kinda baffled that there just ist a major schedule with the gross outlines. I should be able to tell you when the summer final is, you guys know it too, same for worlds.

People see the regional final, or the start of the playoffs, and want to know when the winner is gonna clash the rest of the globe. I should be able to scroll down on the schedule and see this

While we're not always responding to everything, a lot of the team is here reading the feedback and we do discuss it. That doesn't always mean we're able to act on it immediately but know that we appreciate the feedback here.

Blood_X

Oh snap, you right. I had forgotten about that. I just remembered it was easier to point out from the main page.

Do you all coordinate with the nexus page people? I think it would be nice if the nexus "Teams" page had some sort of navigation to the watch.lolesports teams page since the nexus page is what you first see when going to lolesports

I haven't done any work on nexus but we do talk with the team that's working on that end of things. It seems all sides are aware that the current experience can be frustrating and we all want to make it better. I don't have any concrete timelines for you on this but know that we agree with you and we are excited about improving things.

I doubt it makes any difference. The drops seems like they are just hard-coded though. Definitely not as advertised. They were supposed to be dynamic and drop depending on the game state. E.g. someone picks up a penta or a hype Baron steal.

There are actually some of each. Some have set times that we look to drop. Others have event triggers. Hopefully we can add more clarity around these sorts of things over time.

I hope they add the ability to resize panels on watch.lolesports, because I like having chat, but the stats frame makes the game just a little too small.

Below the video on the right side there is an options menu. If you click that you can change your stats layout to Theater. This will move all of the stats below the video allowing you to have chat and video up top with stats below the video. Hopefully this gets you closer to the viewing experience you want.

U must watch or u just need to be logged?

You must be watching live and logged in on lolesports.com

Dear Riot,

can I please chromecast watchlolesports? Especially now I want to view through this more than ever on my TV, but I am bound to chromecast either through twitch or youtube!

Thanks in advance!

If you are using Youtube as your video player on lolesports.com you should have a chromecast button inside the youtube video player. Additionally, if you use google chrome you can cast an entire tab of your browser to your chromecast which would allow you to have our extra stats up on your TV.

MrTin18

Wait so can you use twitch chat there or?

Yes. If you select Twitch as your stream provider, you can also display twitch chat on lolesports.com. Look for a little chat icon on the right below the video.

LloydDRK

You are my new hero, thank you! Does it however count my viewing rewards through this method? Because I wont be signed in on my chromecast!

Good news and bad news. We have done some light testing on this and it seems to work. The bad news is that its not an officially supported feature atm, so its possible you may end up having issues. Here's what I'd recommend to give it a test and see if it's working with your setup.

1) Find a VOD you haven't watched (gray underline on VODs page) that has rewards enabled (ie - LEC/LCS).
2) Go to Game Start
3) Try casting the player itself to your chrome cast.
4) Leave it running for at least 10 minutes.
5) Go back to the VODs listing page and see if the gray underline for that VOD has turned gold. If it has, then you should be receiving rewards and drops.
6) Then just repeat this test with a different unwatched VOD and try casting the browser tab instead of the player itself.

If you're able to try this and don't mind, let me know how it goes for you. Thanks!

Hello, thanks again for all the trouble you guys went through and give me information. I have done testing on my local setup, here is what I have found.

On my desktop, both options of casting the player itself and casting the google chrome tab to my chromecast resulted in giving rewards and drops. So that works, as long as you obviously leave the desktop running as well!

The problem here is that normally we want to cast it on the couch through our phones. So I have tried going to lolesports.com on google chrome and see an unwatched (grey outlined) VOD on my mobile. Then, even though I made sure that it was set on youtube, the player provided me no option to cast the video to my tv. Setting my mobile on desktop site view, still did not present me with such an option. In my local set up, a work around is to visit the youtube channel where you guys upload, however that presents me with no rewards, even after watching a full game. This is what I have been fmdoing for the last two seasons.

Tl:dr; casting with rewards works on desktop, not on mobile.

For now ill adjust my routine and cast through my desktop, but if one day it could work through mobile phone chromecasting, that would be amazing.

Edit:spelling

Glad to hear its working for you on desktop at least. Unfortunately I don't have better news on the mobile front. Thanks for reporting back with your findings.
