But elder did do 20% of each enemies hp. Elder was clearly the biggest buff, and even if you argue that it should be that impactful, the straight execute at 20% feels terrible and instantly game losing, plz rework

I don't know what items the Zac nor the losing team had, but he was able to remove 80% of their HP all on his own. I imagine he earned that Penta in over the previous 31 minutes of the game.

GG elder soul riot is bad at balancing

He had: infernal dragon soul, Baron AND elder by 31 mins. I suspect it was not just Elder...

Elder buff change has got to be one of the worst changes of the year.

No skill involved whatsoever. Sivir was practically off screen and still got zapped. Zac was in blob form when Galio got zapped. Just a stupid, brain-dead change to make games end faster. Horrible way to go about it. This was only against one champion with the buff too, imagine a whole team being buffed. Zero counterplay.

He has ALL available epic buffs in this fight. Elder, infernal soul and lots of AP from Baron. It's not JUST Elder in this fight.

EDIT: and he had thornmail, so every basic attack on him would apply grievous wounds to the attacker AND elder burn. That's rough...

It's hardly tank meta. It's just dragon meta right now. Whoever gets 4 dragons first wins game.

Or... Whoever's winning the game takes 4 dragons first.

Lazy? We just built 4 different elemental themed map variants and your first thought was that we were too lazy to do a snowy version of each of them at the same time?

Sometimes, Reddit...

Apparently I can only upvote this post once? What's that all about.

I wanted at least 8 upvotes on this one.

not at all, if two teams are evenly matched and one decides to focus rift herald or taking top lane turrets or something instead of drag, you lose. it is disproportionately powerful compared to every other objective in the game. baron and elder are strong but last for 3 minutes. souls are very strong and last forever...

And those are the 10% of games the Dragon Soul team loses.

Gold is average? I’m in my gold promos currently, waiting to get home to finish them, and I feel kinda bad now. I have over 700 games in Silver and I feel like shit now :/

Edit : I came home, lost my final promo game, then won 4 GAMES IN A ROW AND FINALLY AFTER OVER 700 GAMES, 4 LOST PROMOTIONAL SERIES, I AM FINALLY IN GOLD. It’s been a long 5 months... but I finally made it

I'm not sure they're right and I'm also not sure they're wrong. I'd be wary of where Reddit collects their data.

cavecricket49

You're operating off very dated information. Gold has become the top of the bell curve.

What's your source on this?

These are a bit on the basic side but I bet everyone finds 1 or 2 things in this list they didn't know:

Towers deal physical damage so only armour offers increased protection from their shots.

Minions push slightly harder and take less damage when their enemy towers are destroyed in that Lane. The more towers are down, the harder they push.

Killing only the caster (ranged) minions in a wave, leaving the melee ones alive, sets that wave up for a big counter push in a few minutes' time, without anyone even being there.

Junglers can smite while stunned/rooted etc but NOT when suppressed. Suppression cannot be removed by summoner spell Cleanse, but it can by using a Quicksilver Sash.

Lethality is essentially flat armour penetration per champion level. As the lethality owner levels up, they negate more armour from their target.

Everyone benefits from the armour shred on Black Cleaver. Use it to enhance your AD allies' damage on an enemy champion.

On-hit is a term used on a num...

Ocean soul has the highest win rate, Cloud soul has the lowest winrate. Tbh this doesn’t surprise me ocean feels so powerful, both the drag and the soul

Where are you getting your data?

This is epic! Wp!

When the only other notably big game in the genre gives out every hero for free, I think it's pretty silly to pretend that League has a generous system

I don't think that's all that relevant. You can get all champions in League for free, all you need do is have fun playing the game over a period of time.

I'm sure DotA has content they DON'T give you for free, and that's their chosen business model.

PreztoElite

Ok but it's still not generous enough

The game is legitimately free. You can play for 365 days of the year and never give over a cent if you don't want. You can even get skins for free from chests just for playing well (or with friends who play well), yet, it's not generous enough?

I don't think you really believe that, do you?

Yup! It's a bug where Shaco clone kills a dragon. Will be fixed in 9.24.

noeventroIIing

I had a different kind of bug happen in one of my game, we lost the first two drakes, got 3 ocean drakes in a row and the 4th drake was another infernal, but we had a shaco on our team so it might be related.

Yup, it's the same. If shaco clone ever kills a dragon, it is not counted by any dragon counting script! Apologies.

What kinda tech stack do you guys use at Riot?

Riot: Yes

DeWolx03

It's alright. Here's what I think from my experience so far...

Pros:

-Dragons are important

-Botlane Alcove seems alright, though I prefer a little bit less of the bushes creeping into it as it looks off visually

-Item changes

Cons:

-Terrain changes seem cheesy/corny. Like, "oh that's cute." Okay okay... I just wanted a river of Lava when the infernal dragon takes the map.

-I think the dragons are overloaded. We get passive buffs and then a special ability unique to the dragon that takes over the map. Kinda too much if you ask me, especially if you add the elder dragon(even though it's rare and I've only seen it twice so far).

-Rift Herald changes seem off. This was a good opportunity to bring Vile Maw into Summoner's Rift as well.

-Toplane Alcove. Do we really need one up there? It irks me that the map is trying to mirror itself by design with such an iffy addition. It's like they just copy+pasted it up there to say they didn't forget about top.

-Item balancing.

I'm enjoying the preseason so far despite the issues, however, just think about it for a second... a river of lava!

Please don't use the word lazy. The development team at Riot are anything but lazy.

Totally respect your post content otherwise!

Cannot wait to see Elder in Pro (since they'll be rare and the fights around it will be hype!). Don't forget that pros will play around that 20% threshold and pull off some amazing stuff.

Talonoscopy

If Shaco's (or any) clone is the one to deal the killing blow to a drake, it doesn't count towards a soul. This is a bug and is reportedly being fixed next patch.

This is correct. We have a fix in for 9.24.
