Ah, then the article is formulated a bit ambiguous for those who don't know that.

After the positive response to last year’s co-streaming program during Rift Rivals 2019, we’ve decided to test co-streaming for a longer period of professional League of Legends. Because of this, we will continue the co-streaming pilot program for the 2020 LCS Spring Split. The pilot program will again be limited to a select group of creators so we can continue to track the impact on the individual streamers and our broadcast. For the LCS Spring Split, co-streaming will only be available to members of the NA League Partner Program, Oceanic League Partner Program, and LCS/Academy teams. ... The co-streaming policy also varies per region so please keep in mind that this pilot program policy only applies to the LCS broadcasts

They make it sound as if it's their first co-stream programme after RR.

Are there co-streamers for LEC too?

Sorry for the confusion here! This is NA's first co-streaming program since Rift Rivals 2019. All regions have different policies for co-streaming so this announcement is coming to you from the NA esports team and applies to LCS broadcasts only.

Is this on the preseason patch?

They're playing on Patch 9.22 :)

Hey guys! I'm Riot Zephyr and I help on the Riot Report. Totally not Rivington's fault here and no leaks, just a mistake on our part when we handed Riv some notes. There's no new regional server leaked/announced. We just wanted to point viewers to the exciting event coming up in Saudi Arabia to celebrate Riot "gradually offering all Riot Games products and services in Arabic" (also stated in the 10th Anniversary Edition of Riot Pls). There will however be mobile regional servers specifically for the celebratory event. Sorry for any confusion!

for another fixed team format soon.

It would be nice if you would've cared in any way for the quality of the games. If one of your participants is having troubles with their connection there should be a substitute ready. I'm in no way blaming the streamer for this, it's the internet providers fault but when you have a tournament with prize money (especially for the fastest win) playing 4v5 is not only unfun to watch and play but unfair for the competition.

Those are always unfortunate situations. There are substitutes ready at the beginning of each event. It's difficult (and unfair) to ask a sub to stick around for hours during the tournament without guaranteeing they can play. The rules that Twitch, Riot, and the participants agree to state that a certain amount of a pause time can be given but ultimately the game can't be held on pause indefinitely, and starting that specific game over isn't always fair to those who have played it out so far. While we recognize a 4v5 isn't fair, the circumstances that lead to it are hard to prepare for and hard to solve when they do happen. In the two instances a 4v5 has happened, we've made sure that there's a solution for the game that immediately follows, but I think that's the best we're currently able to do given the nature of online tournaments + scheduled live broadcasts.

Howdy! I’m one of the leaders for the League Partner Program in NA.

Sadly I can’t provide you with an exact date for when the program will re-open. We’re just not sure yet because we’re evaluating a few things including how to better support content creators (not just streamers and YouTubers), as well as how to support creators from different game modes.

I know the program has been closed since November of last year, so apologies for the long wait.

Why are you creating a false dilemma? It's not either give them time to scrim or have rotating teams, why not create teams on the day of and let people build up their chemistry by playing? Furthermore, what kind of a garbage excuse is that you don't have time? You could literally make the teams a month in advance with no obvious issues.

Planning an event between two companies takes time and often isn't set in stone until shortly before the event is set to take place. That time period often isn't enough to allow teams to get to know one another and play together to practice/scrim.

One of the pieces of feedback we got from streamers in the first Twitch Rivals is that the scrim portion and getting to know each other in advance was the best part of having assigned teams. While we could create teams on the day of and let people build chemistry by playing (and that wouldn't take needing much time before the event, which is fair), we didn't want to remove one of the parts of that format that streamers said they liked most. That said it's totally possible to have teams set on the day of, which is an idea we can pitch to the streamers to get their feedback.

Just promote it a bit more, it’s an event that riot is involved with and it’s not on the news page or anything, and get rid of smash.gg that website is trash it doesn’t explain anything. Also do you have any future plans for another fixed teams event?

That's fair feedback - the last couple events have lacked a bit of promotion and so I know a lot of the community was caught unaware or only found out after the fact.

We cannot change smash.gg because that's a Twitch-owned element of Twitch Rivals. All Twitch Rivals events are posted on that site.

As for plans on another fixed teams event - again it's something I'm definitely interested in pursuing but as of right now, there is no planned upcoming Twitch Rivals event outside of TwitchCon. I'd personally love for the next Summoner's Rift event to be a fixed team format but I'm not sure when that will be just yet.

I think fixed teams is the best format. I've seen the players say as such. It gives them more content which is good for us and them and it actually let's them develop at least a little relationship and a gameplan. I feel like as a player you'll want to play better and more focused if you're playing for and with people you actually know.

Hi! I've been one of the Rioters working with Twitch on Twitch Rivals for both Summoner's Rift and TFT. We totally hear this feedback as well as the feedback from the streamers who have been participating in Twitch Rivals the last few times. Personally, I wish we could have alternated more between the "role robin" format and the fixed team format. What's been preventing us from doing this recently is simply time. I think to make the best fixed team format for Twitch Rivals, the teams and streamers need to be able to scrim and build up hype behind their team. We haven't been able to give them this and so the "role robin" format has been our default because of it. That said, we've definitely had quite a few "role robin"'s recently and please know the community and streamer feedback is heard and we'll do our best to try for another fixed team format soon.

Hey everyone, I work with the League Partner Program (LPP) in NA and want to provide some clarity here. We’ve been experimenting with an escalated player reporting system for NA LPP for several months now. It enables NA League Partners to report players for questionable behavior via the same avenues that any other player would, but they can also escalate their reports to Player Support via a specific channel to get them potentially addressed more quickly.

LPP members do not have the power to influence actions taken against other players. The rules and standards set to evaluate reports are the same across the board and maintained by Player Support. We can’t speak to why this particular player was banned, but this Player Support member’s post has more info on this specific case.

To clarify, the only difference between regular reporting and this is the potential speed at which reports are reviewed. We agree that the messaging around this NA LPP feature has not been clear and we com...

Can you explain why Nubrac was banned? Riot have openly stated that off-meta players will not receive 14 day suspensions as long as they want to win (which I'm pretty sure Nubrac does): https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/EtXQhs5J-weore-updating-our-policy-so-unusual-play-styles-dont-get-14-day-bans

https://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/2017/05/dev-diary-meddler-on-unusual-playstyles-in-league/

They also introduced protocol they said would be followed in cases like this:

Here’s how that process will work:

Players who cause an undue amount of frustration and pain because of a crazy pick but are dedicated to winning (not trolling) will not receive a ban instead we’ll temporarily lock their account. The player will get a message to reach out to Player Support so they can unlock their account. Before you guys get too scared, given our review of past audits, we feel this will only apply to a few players a year. Seriously, last year thousands of these audits were performed, and we saw only a tiny handful of these cases appear.

When contacted; Player Support will let the player know they’re not banned, but temporarily locked out of their account because of an audit. We’ll share in-game examples and reports of the kind of behavior that’s causing them to pop up on our radar.

The player gets feedback on how they can communicate what they’re trying to do and how their team can win without ruining the experience of people they play with. After that Player Support will unlock their account.

With their account unlocked the player is free to return to games right away. Player Support will reach out again if they find any actual behavior problems. If they’re flagged with unsportsmanlike conduct, or outright trolling, they’ll receive a penalty. If it’s just their style to try to win with weird picks and unusual plays then they won’t get a penalty.

I can't speak for Player Support nor am I in any position to speak about the status of anyone's account, so I'd defer to the post I linked by a Player Support member.
