• Description: No matter which of the 3 Riot Games I open, the updater fails giving the screenshot linked below

• Steps to reproduce: Try to open Valorant, League of Legends, or Legends of Runeterra
• Expected result: The game launcher opens
• Observed result: The above screenshot happens
• Reproduction rate: 100%
• System specs: Windows 10, i7 4790k, 32BG of RAM, 980ti (none of this really matters given the issue)
• Things I've tried:
  • Running the installers again,
  • Running the games in admin mode,
  • Reinstalling Valorant,
  • Uninstalling all 3, reboot, reinstall, reboot,
  • Many combinations of the above,
  • etc.

The closest I've gotten is when I uninstalled all 3, I only installed LoL first, it got to the launcher. There was a button on the bottom left saying to update the Riot Client itself. After that the issue resumed.

In addition, the install path of the games only contains a folder called Riot Client. That means the games didn't even begin to install, despite running the installers.

The workaround here was to not install to a drive mounted as a folder. We dont support this yet.

How can I end the game with cheats enabled? I had to keep ending the round time and get 13 rounds to get out of the game lol. Did I miss an option somewhere?

i think that's the only option we have at the moment.

I would just love to be able to open the game, or any Riot game at all but I still can't for some reason.

For what reason is it intentional? I understand it in live matches, but generally customs don't happen with anyone other than friends.

customs are used for private competitive matches or tournaments, not just friends or testing around. Like i mentioned above, we are exploring options, but for now, we just aren't done making the game.

its intentional now because were in beta, not done with the game yet

This is intended for now, we are exploring options to make this more clear in the future for customs. If you don't intend to finish a custom game, we recommend starting it with cheats enabled so you can end it from that menu. Otherwise you need to exit the client and wait 5 min or so.

EDIT: Adding some clarification. By intended, I mean we know this is how customs currently function, and we are/were ok dealing with this behavior for right now. We know it's not optimal, we know it's painful for friends wanting to test stuff out, and we will have a better solution in place before we ship. We just haven't gotten that work done yet, but be patient, we will.

Yeah it's a bug. We've seen some weird stuff like this in the past. I'll have someone take a look. Let me know if you figure out a way to do it consistently, just don't tell the rest of the internet :)
