Mr. Reav3, Sir, pardon the offtopic question but is the Edgy champion that is getting released soon only for middle lane? Or can it be also played top?
While we are primarily testing and balancing it around mid I think it will also be pretty viable top
Could you share what do you guys think about Tryndamere. It looks to me like he is hitting all the criteria for a VGU, but he isn't mentioned often.
Gameplay: He is the last remenant of small crit % and stat increase/decrease aoe. Attack speed, his best stat, makes him look kinda silly swinging that large sword like it's a balloon. He has very little skill expression specific to his kit.
Visual: His design is okay, but it's kind of generic. Most new champions/VGUs are now you guys taking a trope and owning it, making it unique to the League universe
Potential: He has a dedicated playerbase and there is nothing wrong with his playstyle, but I feel he is a concept that could be executed so much better both gameplaywise and visually. What are yours and the teams thoughts on him?
I mentioned in a post not long ago, but yeah Trynd is high on our list for a VGU we just haven't got to him yet
Would you guys ever be open to discussing specific champions that do not end up on the VGU poll? There are champion the community seems to want reworked, but they never come up in discussion with rioters. For example RiotAugust recently said that you wanted to rework Malphite, but found out he is very popular. Are you open to more transparency like that?

Negative post ahead and I apologize, but this is not a decision I'm on board with. Narrative has spent the last few years trying to make a sustainable IP. The last time Riot tried this, they were surprised Lissandra actually won the vote.
More, if this is actually a vote about a major event like Noxus vs Ionia (an outcome that the writers should have known for a long time now), then it just means current storybuilding feels much less valuable because everything writers are planning is ultimately subject to the whims of champion production and upcoming events and a community that, for the most part, is not particularly involved in the setting as is.
The odds of Yone coming out are just increasing the feeling that more and more Narrative isn't really in charge. I hope Riot Forge can still take some risks.Edit: see Reav3's reply below.
To be clear, we currently have no plans to do a event where players vote on the direction of the base lore. This article was talking about AUs where we can do that kind of stuff and it can be fun.
But both Pantheon (pre-rework) and Mord were top laners, maybe a bot or mid is better.
If we had one that was as high priority sure, we currently don't have any bot or mids that are as high priority as Mundo. All the champs I put on the last voting poll where high priority and 4 were junglers with only Mundo being Top
Are you aiming Mundo to be a broad/popular champ or would you be alright if he remained relatively niche
We are targeting him to stay niche, we mostly want to increase his depth by rather then his breadth
Hey Reav3, can we expect a rework thinking Dr. Mundo in two lanes?
With Fiddle's rework, we lost him as support. Going from tier S+ (3% pick rate) to less than 1% pick rate due to changes. Can we dream with Dr. Mundo viable as support (like Maokai for example)?
Or are there 0% chances and he only be defined as top lane? Thanks!
I think we will likely be able to make him work in both top and jng (It was much harder to make Fiddle work in Jng and support) Though we would be looking at top primary, and jng secondary if we can make it work

We don't plan on changing his identity as a tank/juggernaut hybrid.
Was there any reason why Mundo was chosen over other potential candidates as the non poll VGU, since most of the champs you noted are showing their age as much as Mundo
Largely because we just finished 2 junglers with Fiddlesticks and Volibear and wanted to do a VGU on a different class (Top lane) to add better role diversity to our VGU line up. I mentioned it in the VGU Poll as well that we wouldn't necessarily VGU the champs in the order of most votes.

Possibly, we don't usually finalize the title until much later in the process, It will really depend on if the title still makes sense with his updated direction or not

Will this new approach hinder the flexibility of the newly released champions? I love the fact that Sett is played in Support / Jungle for example. I hope the releases don't become too narrow.
Nah, we usually have a primary position we balance around, but that doesnt mean champs wont have other positions they can flex into as well

Can I ask why in the roadmap u say the masked champ is an assassin? Didn't u say it was a solo melee carry like Jax, Yas, or Fiora?
We weren't sure back then if the Champ would end up a skirmisher or Assassin, as we got further into development it became clear it should be a Assassin, though i still think it will be a bit of a hybrid assassin/melee carry
