The reason there are only 4 objectives is because Halvøy isn’t really bout for conquest. Frostbite was the best spot in the attic part of the map where I could find to have some balance. I wanted to do one with the quarry but I couldn’t seem to find an good way, it would be to disruptive to gameplay.

The terrain of frostbite and the few objectives kind of gives the map a gritty feel, imagine it being the last day of a grand op, you’re hungry and cold, and you need need to take and hold these objectives in a final push against the enemy.

These are some reasons why I made frostbite the way it is. But like I said in the title, Feedback is open!

So what about the other layouts? What were your thoughts about them? Even amount of flags could lead to stagnation. Red Tide also has 6 flags. Why not 5 for example?

All interesting stuff right there. If you want to have a discussion about all of this, it would be kinda cool to know your ideas behind these. I always ask about the "WHY" when I talk with other designers ideas. Care to tell us the "WHY" of every layouts? For example, there are 4 flags on your design called Frostbite. Any reason? "It feels cool should not be an answer" :)

We do. On the other hand I'm just a Level Designer. There are a ton of stuff I can't answer but I can post funny stuff here and there without any problem. Ben F8RGE is pretty active here. Even though he has to answer to Battlefield, Starwars and Need For Speed.

I f'ing dare you! Seriously though I'm curious as to what the current code behind Conquest and the ticket system would do with that many objectives on a map and if more than half were being captured at the same time. Would it melt servers? Or just "Server Disconnected, You have lost the connection to the session".

At the very least it would be a hilarious proof of concept.

I'm not an engineer so it's hard to say really. I don't know if having 100 flags would be the problem compared to having 64v64 players.

The promotion is not over, it can just be hard to find the Deluxe content.

  • You should be able to choose 5 out of the 8 veteran kits. (Find the tile in the Armory)
  • You get 20 airlifts, one per week, starting the moment you redeem the deluxe edition code. If you want to double check whether you received an item, here's a list of what you should be getting (not in chronological order): BFV Airlift Blog Post
  • You get Deluxe Edition Special Assignments. (Special Air Service / Fallschirmjäger).

The Blog post should give a good idea which week you're currently in, as that's different for everyone, due to the different redemption dates.

Hello people, since I wrote that on Twitter because I saw a ton of comments about this specific subject... Just to clarify about the Combined Arms section of the roadmap (and only this one point) and it's impact on the production. To add more Combined Arms missions (since they were "promised") it literally took ONE single designer. This had not a single impact on the production of any more MP maps.

I, as a person, a dev and a gamer absolutely understand your concern but I'm just a small little cog in a big machine. I just wanted to clarify that little detail.

Okay, so one guy here, one guy on some other mode we haven’t heard of yet, one guy on a different mode, two to three guys on those close quarters modes, let’s say 5-7 guys on that 5v5 competitive mode...

That’s 10 to 13 devs here already that could be working on what they (edit; DICE as a company) MUST know players would prefer in long run. And that’s a very minimal estimate probably, because they got to have at least 5 more of those limited time modes coming because that’s “live service content” to drip feed us throughout the year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's important to note that the community is asking for ALL kind of things left and right. There are more people who play CA that the community might think but like I said on twitter, adding more missions was the job of one guy. We got ask for "focused competitive play" since the game launched too. It's pretty hard to please everyone but the majority of the bulk work force who can make new maps are working on new maps. It was already stated a couple of times because but making a full fledged conquest map takes months.

Like everything, it's not impossible even though SP maps were designed with SP gameplay in mind. Especially the Tirailleur warstory. It's super linear and maps are really thin. They were also not built to be "balanced". This mission specifically, the attackers are at a really big disadvantage.

Looking at the map from a Design perspective I don't think Conquest would work but maybe Breakthrough could.

On the other hand. it would take way way more than just a couple of covers.

Also, there are some technical stuffs happening in single player maps compared to MP maps, like streaming of data while you play. A ton of stuff would need to be un-linked with the systems in the back that the players don't see.
