As you know, we're announcing our 3.13.0 expansion very soon! We've revealed that it features enhancements to Path of Exile's endgame, a new challenge league and new ways to build characters, through skills and balance changes. Before we reveal the expansion's contents live on Twitch and enter a new era of endgame for Path of Exile, we wanted to take a look back at past endgame expansions to see how the Atlas of Worlds has evolved over time.

The Atlas of Worlds

Prior to our Atlas of Worlds expansion at the end of 2016, Path of Exile's endgame consisted of a pyramid-shaped progression of maps, disconnected from one another with no progression system that connected them and no pinnacle boss content aside from the highest tier maps. You were able to craft your maps to modify their properties but that was the extent of the control you had over the experience. Heist League Ends Soon

The Heist League on PC ends at 1pm on January 11th (PST), so this is your final weekend to complete the remaining challenges in this league. The Heist League on Xbox One and Playstation 4 will end when the Echoes of the Atlas expansion goes live on Consoles (January 20th at 1PM PDT).Thank you to everyone who played in Heist! As you know from our Echoes of the Atlas announcement that went live earlier today, in 3.13.0 Heist will become a core Path of Exile mechanic, so we're not saying goodbye to Kurai and her team of Rogues. In the Ritual League you'll have the option to complete 40 new challenges and earn exclusive microtransaction rewards. At 12, 24 and 36 challenges you will earn the Ritual Weapon Effect, Ritual Character Effect and Ritualist's Hideout respectively. Completing challenges also grants you pieces of the Ritual Totem Pole Hideout decoration.You'll be able to check out the full list of challenges to complete for these rewards when Path of Exile: Ritual launches on PC on January 15th (PST) and consoles on January 20th (PST)! We're teaming up with community streamer Zizaran once again to host the Echoes of the Atlas Boss Kill Event, where Path of Exile players can compete to kill our newest endgame boss, The Maven, while playing in Ritual HC SSF mode. Zizaran has arranged $40,000 for the event's prize pool. On top of cash prizes for players, there are also microtransaction prizes provided by us.

How to Participate

This event runs for the first month of the Ritual league, starting on January 15 (PST). Only characters playing in the Ritual HC SSF League will be counted for the cash prize. We are creating two custom ladders (order and number of kills of The Maven) and will link them from this post once the Ritual expansion is deployed and the ladders are available.

Yesterday we published the full patch notes for Echoes of the Atlas. Alongside changes to different aspects of the game, we've added new Skill and Support Gems and made changes to a number of existing gems.
