Oh, yea, I'm fully aware of that. I'm just asking if you'd please take a look at the account for me? I'm not asking for it to be checked for P-Mod or re-modded. Once you check the account, you will see what I am specifically referring to.

Please let me know if I may send you the RSN privately.

Thank you :).

If you send me the issue I can let you know next steps

mrsana

I see. May I please have the opportunity to send you a DM through Reddit regarding this? I just want clarification, please and thanks. I do not wish to publicly state the RSN nor the details here on this thread.

Thank you, Steve.

I'm not sure what clarification you need ? Accounts that meet our criteria are chosen at random from a list of all accounts that match, accounts that have previously been a P Mod are not excluded, so it is possible that the same account could be pulled again but is quite unlikely given that the chances of an account being pulled once are quite low. In short an ex-PMod has the same chance of being chosen as any other player, but their chances are not increased because they have been a P Mod previously.

mrsana

Can you be a P-Mod if you resigned ten years ago?

It's possible but the odds of the same account being chosen twice must be quite slim

JMC_MASK

Hijacking.

Seriously why does this game not have customer support??? How expensive could it possibly be to hire a few people to take calls or at the very least a ticketing email system??????

We have 36 staff in support and a ticketing system. Search your issue through support and if your issue requires you to get in touch there will be a contact button.

I_clji_i

Omg can someone tell me how to contact jagex?? I had quit for about 2 months and I went to log on a few days ago and I have been hacked and now perm banned with no appeal. I've looked everywhere for how to contact them and I can't find a way! If anyone knows how plz let me know I had over 500hrs put into the account!

Go to our site, click 'support' and when you are presented with a search box type 'ban' - the first result will be the article you need to submit a ban appeal or just use this link - ban appeal

Going to Hijack this comment to ask you to please look into the account named 'Shawtyblitz'. It's a bought pmod account that's logged into 334 castlewars on a daily basis. A player by the name of 'Hiren' uses it to mute multiple high levels players that are not part of his cwars group or for any insignificant banter that goes on in the lobby. Been going on for the past year, it's ridiculous...

I've had a look at every mute they've submitted back to the beginning of December 2019 and they all look correct, I picked 3 at random from 2018, 2017 and 2016 - I didn't agree with one of the 2017 ones but on balance there is no indication of incorrect muting, it's likely that you what you refer to as 'insignificant banter' is actually offensive behaviour.

vixiefern

can you be a pmod if you got banned 12 years ago?

If you've been banned you wouldn't have an account to be made a P Mod ... what am i missing ...

yellowbananadude

Hey :) can :) I :) be :) your:) next :) pmod :) ? :) I :) fit :) the :) criteria:)

Anyone who meets the criteria has a chance, need more smileys though

rs_xmas

I'm guessing a short term ban?

Oh right, well 'yep' if the account is not banned then it can become a P Mod

taintedcake

But surely it's jmods who determine who goes on the list? Cause most pmods seem to be players who hung out in chats that jmods also hung out in regularly whether it be on their jmod account or their personal account

Nope it's not decided by J Mods, the raw list of names names comes from a data set of pre-determined requirements, none of which are related to clan chat activity

xsevenmillionx

I hope there is actually q list of exemplary players n not players who sit in clan chats. You guys should create a random acc n test your next p mods

Clan chat membership / activity is not even in the initial P Mod checks ....

Why would you demod his account? Surely it's not vulnerable forever because it got hijacked once... right?

Because we don't know exactly why it was hijacked, for all we know the owner could be sharing it - there is no reason for us to accept any risk of our players being muted unfairly and we'd rather offer the role to the next person on the (long) waiting list instead of retaining a p mod account with a known historical security breach.

This P Mod account was hijacked for about 4 hours. We secured the account so the owner could recover it and removed any mutes issued in that time, most of which were actually OK but there were some malicious ones as well. The longest anyone was unfairly muted in this incident was 1 hour.

It's a really unfortunate incident, but hijacking of P Mod accounts does happen from time to time and we act swiftly as soon as we become aware of it, we also check P Mod account security once a week to ensure they remain secure.

We have demodded this account, but I would ask that if you see the player in game not to hate on them - although everyone has a responsibility to keep their account details secure, the context is it was a hijacker and not the account owner that caused the issues for other players.

Thanks

if u recruit 100 a month and there are currently 2,364 P Mods ur attrition rate is abysmal and that alone should signal red flags about the system in place.

like your system is seriously fucked up if both those numbers u stated are true. That gives me chills to think that many mods get dropped(lets hope it isnt for abuse).

We haven't always recruited 100 a month, and P Mods also stop playing or have other reasons to leave, it isn't always abuse! In addition, just because we invite 100 it doesn't mean 100 accept.

Let's agree to disagree. Thanks for your comments.

Looks like our recruitment process is working as intended then.

Hey Mod_Stevew, please check your reddit messages!

I don't seem to have a message from you ?

Yes I'm saying that's what happened. They were removed as a moderator but as far as any mute or ban, they should also receive a mute and/or ban instead of just losing their crown. They are supposed to be champions of the community so they need to made more accountable than the average player seeing as they go through a pretty rigorous process to get that crown.

In short, there is no excuse for them to NOT know the rules and should they violate those roles, they should be punished more harshly when they have that crown removed. As it stands right now, if they pull my above scenario, their crown is the only thing they lose and can continue being toxic. My scenario has shown me that losing a crown and Pmods getting preferential treatment aren't mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the context, I would have thought that losing P Mod status would be more of a deterrent than a mute, and some might consider it being 'punished twice for the same offence' - point taken though, thanks for clarifying.

Here’s a vid sir pugger did on pmods being sold off or rented out. A lot will mute a competitor for rule breaking (valid) but simply say they didn’t see the other spammers (a lie)

Of course it's possible and I don't live in some ivory tower where all P Mods are perfect and never take advantage, but there are other explanations such as a new P Mod who can't yet mute, muting by chat watch not a P Mod or the P Mod just didn't mute for some unknown reason (they are under no obligation to do so).

I am a strong advocate of rs3 myself. Unfortunately, I am always unable to travel to the UK for runefest (sucks to be me).

I see no harm in it as a once a year adhoc method of identifying new P Mods.

I agree but people wanting to become pmods because they're passionate for the game, feel that they're being stepped over by those who are able to attend runefest. Some people who don't attend (like me) are simply unable to, not that we don't want to.

I get that, but be assured the normal recruitment still goes on, the RF invites are additional to the usual process - not in place of it :)
