Happy New Year, Survivors! Thank you all for making us a part of your 2018. It has truly been an insane year for us. As always we are humbled by your support of all things ARK and we could not have achieved these milestones without you.

Structure Plus & Kibble Rework!

Hey Survivors! Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Crunch!

ARK: Valentine's Day Event Concludes!

Our Valentine's Day event has concluded as of February 18th midnight 12:00 UTC. However we will not be redeploying servers to officially end the event until 10am PST tomorrow, Tuesday meaning that event rates will continue until 10am PST tomorrow.

Event items and creatures will only stop appearing after your server has been restarted. Event items such as candies and chocolate will not despawn after the event concludes.

Upcoming Server Maintenance!

On February 20th beginning at 7am EST we will be conducting a small maintenance on a portion of our NA Official Servers. We anticipate the full maintenance duration to take a few hours however the servers will be booted back up shortly after they are taken down, which should minimize individual downtime.

On March 4th we will be reorganising our Switch network to better allocate servers to serve our player base....

At 1 PM Pacific Time on March 5th, members of the ARK development team will be hosting a Developer Livestream on our Twitch channel!

Our Community-focused livestreams went over well with the community so we decided to restructure slightly to bring even more members of our team into the mix! We invite you to join us from our Seattle office as we discuss the latest developments with ARK.

In next weeks' stream we will be showcasing and discussing our biggest addition and change to the game: the Structures Plus and Kibble rework.

ARK: Valentine's Day!

Beginning tomorrow, February 12th until February 18th, love will fill the air as we celebrate Valentine's Day!

The ARK will be placed under Cupid's loving spell. With this event, creatures have also been affected by Cupid's spell in the following ways:

Red, Pink, and White colored wild creatures can be found wandering the ARKs searching for true loves kiss.

When mating, creatures have a 25% chance to drop an item. That item has a 50/50 chance to be one of the following:

Valentines Chocolate: Restores full HP, or knocks 40% off a creatures taming bar.

Valentines Candy: Gives your tame random dino colors when eaten.

All servers official and unofficial will also experience the following bonuses (auto-activated or can be toggled manually by running ActiveEvent=vday):

Mate Boosted range increased by 2x

Structures Plus (S+) & Kibble Rework Beta!

It is finally here! This is the first time we've done a public beta branch for ARK, so here is a lengthy but necessary introduction.

As a quick starting note: Before accessing a beta branch you should create a backup of any single player games, characters, or server files that you may have for ARK to prevent any corruption or loss of player data from occurring. When you’re done playing with the beta you’ll need to navigate back to the branch selection dialogue and opt-out of the beta (choose NONE). You cannot access your official server while on the beta because they are not the same version. Depending on your internet connection this process could take some time so if you’re doing anything time sensitive on your official server, be cautious of swapping!

Hey Xbox Survivors,

I have some bad news that I am sadden to have to share tonight. Upon the v735 Xbox patch update, it was made aware to us that The Center single player, non-dedicated, and player dedicated saved data on Xbox was no longer accessible.

Until we are able to get a patch approved, single-player save data will remain inaccessible and new single-player data will not save any time you close the game. However, we think it is likely that when this is patched you will be able to gain access your single-player saves again. They are currently inaccessible as the file path to load the save data is incorrect.

However, the same is unlikely for player dedicated servers. For you this is unfortunately a one-time wipe for all player dedicated servers, as much as we wish this were not the case. We will be looking into this to see if there are any other options, and are investing resources into any and all attempts to counteract this. New saved data on player dedicated server...

Attention Builders!

Fancy yourself a top tier builder? We want to see what you can do with the new structure changes!

Hop into the beta (details on how to do that below) and build to your heart's content using any of our officially supported maps (The Island, The Center, Ragnarok, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction). You can do this in your single player world or your unofficial server if you have access to one. We’ll be picking the best builds submitted to us for featuring in an upcoming video trailer showcasing the building changes to ARK similar to the announcement video we did for our latest mod contest.

Submit pictures and/or a video of your build, your map save and coordinates to your build to [email protected] so we can take a look. You can get the direct coordinates to your build location by enabling setcheatplayer true and jotting down the coordinates presented on screen....

Homestead Update Tomorrow!

It's finally arrived! We're beyond thrilled to be releasing Structure Plus (S+) and the long-awaited kibble rework (now packaged together as 'Homestead') to all of our survivors March 5th 2019!

If you can dream it, you can build it! Homestead includes the major elements of Structures Plus (S+), a player created Sponsored Mod by Orionsun. S+ has maintained a large following of users over an extended period of time, and its move to console has long been requested. We are particularly excited to finally be able to share this with our console survivors who will be using it for the very first time.

Here are the new building features included in Homestead:

Dedicated bulk storage

Triangle foundations, ceilings and roof pieces
Four high walls
Fence supports for level walls
Flexible pipes and electrical cables
Double doors

This is a thread dedicated specifically to the Structures Plus changes currently testable on our beta branch.

Please leave all of your structure-related feedback on this thread specifically so our team is able to read through your comments and reports efficiently.

When leaving bug reports be as specific as possible. Providing step-by-step introductions, pictures, and/or videos help us speed up the bug reproduction process and help us fix things faster.

How to access the beta:

Speciality servers are alternate game modes for ARK that last for a short period of time. Each new theme will bring on a new set of challenges different from that of servers currently available. However, these seasonal servers will wipe and change theme after a determined period of time.

We're looking for input from you Survivors today. We've set up a thread and we'd appreciate if you could drop your suggestions into the separate thread below.

Changes will revolve around edits that can be made to the existing config which means modifying ini and server settings. These types of changes can include many things like: tribe/alliance size, anything related to dino stats and taming, server rates, etc. This does not include things like mods.

Some examples can include:

Solo, no tribes

Mammals only
No carnivores
Small Dinos only

What's Happening On The ARK!

We're currently busy hammering away on our bug list so there is not much new information to share with you all this week. We have been very invigorated to see all of the feedback and creations from survivors since the big Homestead patch! We are continuing to take your feedback into consideration regarding upcoming balance change as well as your bug reports, especially those related to the structure and kibble changes.

Since the last Crunch we have:

Fixed hitching and stalling problem introduced in our recent major update.

Upgraded our servers here on SurviveTheARK.com in order to get our forums running at top notch.
Quickly patched a major exploit.
You'll hear more details in the near future regarding the status of upcoming changes as we work through our task list.

The ARK is getting a unique new denizen today: the hip hopping Procoptodon, essentially a gigantic prehistoric Kangaroo. Carrying up to TWO passengers, in a first for ARK creatures, the Procoptodon is able to cover great distances and leap over obstacles with ease, while the pouch-bound passenger is able to make fully effective use of all weaponry while riding!

In addition, ARK: Survival Evolved Steam players are invited to ring in 2016 on the ARK! Starting today at 12 PM EST a gigantic New Year’s Eve ball will descend from the heavens through to January 1 at midnight EST. When it finally hits the ground, a fantastic surprise will be revealed for all Survivors who are on their ARK at that time! It's been a thrilling six months on the ARK, and Studio Wildcard wishes all Survivors a Happy New Year! Thank you to all our players and content creators for helping to make ARK such a success!
