Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Once I know what to look for, it's obvious what it's supposed to be - a spiky nose ring. Just at a glance it looks odd. I doubt there's a way to do this, but I think part of the problem is that all chat heads face one way or the other - if his chathead could be tilted back a bit, for example, it'd be more obvious. Not sure if that's possible, though, or even worth the time to change for such a small tidbit.

Yeah that makes sense, it's almost the opposite for me because I know what it is. That change likely won't make it in, but I'll keep it in mind for future chatheads! Definitely interesting to see what kind of difference it'd make :)

A LOT of gloves do it actually, so I can't really list them all haha, I have a lot. You only need to be wearing the chestplate to recreate this issue. I'll just mention 5 of the latest released gloves that make this issue appear: Equuis Archer arm guards, Sheratan Mercenary gauntlets, Arcane Blood Mage Gloves, Nevermore Stalker Gloves, and Bright Inquisitor hands.

No problem.

It's not all gloves that do this, for whatever reason... but as long as the hands are glitched: Every animation done will start making the hands go crazy, from walk animations to just normally moving/skilling.

Yeah that makes sense, it's an issue with the torso and only a few of them would still work I think. Which hands are doing this that you know of? I think the changes I'll be making should work, but it'd be great to have a look at those specifically to make sure.

Thanks for sharing! The exaggerated animation made it easier to see what the problem is :) Will fix this as soon as I have time for it.

Maybe I'm just stupid but I didn't even realize it was a nose ring for the longest time. I thought it was a little black mustache, and that seemed... very strange. So I wondered if it was just a graphical glitch, like, a piece of his gray beard was black for some reason.

Yeah, it can be a bit tricky to balance smaller details :) He's got the nose ring and the streak of black in his beard as well, I had to make some changes to the hue to make it look more brown than black in the textures so it didn't end up looking like a hole in his beard

It's a shame that Movario wears a hood, the textures on his face look fairly detailed and cool.

Thanks! There's not a whole lot of zoom here either, but if you'd like to have a closer look. The textures on his face were kept quite simple on purpose (things are easier to read that way) but painting all the different colours in there was a lot of fun :D

Hey Sel, what about Second Aged Armour.

We were told that was being "looked into" 2 years ago, and it still looks like card board with paper glued overtop.

Hey, looking at the Second Age armour I don't think we'll be making changes for the time being as it would need a complete rework at this point. When I say something is being looked into I really mean just that, and while we would like to make changes, things don't always work out that way. I'd say it's more likely that changes are made to the Twitch armour or the Spear of Annihilation as what's going on here needs some additional testing.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll pass it on to see if we can make changes to the textures. Have you had the chance to look at it in any of the digsites?

So I’ve taken it to each digsite, war’s retreat, Corporal beast lair, death’s office, and priffidinas.

Regardless of lighting, the texture of the metal (silver and gold) just looks off, sometimes it’s hyper glossy, other times it looks like a matte plastic, as compared to trimmed masterwork that is metallic. The stones are even more pink than amulet of souls, but I don’t see any logical justification for pink stones on the spear.

Even the non masterworked spear looks a bit dollar store plastic like on the metal (gold, dark grey, silver), and both are missing any trace of the 500 malachite green used in construction. The bronze plated white oak shaft also looks more like plastic than metal or wood.

I think if the textures are fixed to be more matte metallic like masterwork, and the stones made green, it would match better to trimmed masterwork and to it’s lore/material inspirations. Some use of black/green may be nice on the shaft or making the bronze have a more metallic/wood texture (perhaps with some green filigree design).

There’s also appears to be a bug (according to the stream from TheRSGuy) where unaugmenting the spear removes the Masterwork... is this intentional?

Tangentially, obviously this is going to be used at corporeal beast, but it only has one square range, whereas the tier 82 Masuta’s Warspear is the only “spear” at Corp with 2 square range. Even if certain aoe abilities like quake or meteor strike were excluded, it would be interesting if there was a way for the strongest spear to have comparable range to the Masuta’s Warspear, even if the upgrade process makes it permanently untradeable.

Appreciate your reply and listening to player feedback on this. If this could be brought in line aesthetically with other T92s like Zaros Godsword it would be great!

Edit: Also, the auto attack animation is a slash instead of a stab, perhaps this should be fixed?

Edit 2: Apparently, despite this being Bandosian, this doesn’t count as a God Item for Bandos God Wars?

Thanks for the detailed feedback, I've passed it on! Can't make any promises about when graphical changes will be made or what they will be, but if nobody else can pick it up I'll have a look at it myself if I have the time.

Can confirm it's been picked up now by one of the other character artists :)

We're currently looking into this, the issue seems to be related to the one with the Spear of Annihilation. Turning your lighting detail up to ultra will make the textures look better, however there's some stuff going on in the textures for both this armour and the spear which has blown out the colours. This isn't present in the ghostly one because the colour range is a lot more limited.

I have my settings all on ultra and the set still looks horrible. It is good to hear you are looking into this and I hope you are able to make it look better. I don't know what design idea your team had with the armor but the current colors make it look little too unrealistic and unreal, it is just little bit too dark. In the official art the armor looks good so could you possible tone the darkness down a little and make the metal look more real?

As I mentioned in the comment above the ultra settings are only part of what's going on here. Didn't want to clutter with too much detail, but what you've suggested there is basically the other part that I was referring to :) In the past we had to push darker and lighter values in textures a lot to make them show better, because of a change in systems we need to do the opposite and limit the range.
