We've found something with slaughter so we have something to poke at, seems to be queueing related though, if I do it without queueing I can walk graador fine.

Just tried barge against the combat dummies on a live server to initiate combat both queueing and via the book and it gave me 8% adrenaline.

This dont seem right, it is a lot harder to move around now while in combat, ive noticed my character dont wanna move even if im spam clicking. Think of it sort of like aftershock going off constantly.

Hmm, that's odd, the change actively removed interruptions so it's rather odd that it would add more. You should see a significant difference in the amount of animations you see play out now due to them no longer being interrupted but mechanically you shouldn't be forced to turn and face the opponent as much any more (still have to fix crackling/aftershock).

These were extremely welcomed by the playerbase as they had been requested for years. Needless to say, Mod Pi's lunch break seems to be the most valuable resource Jagex has. However, it has been over a month and we have not had any follow-up on when these will go live. Did QA sabotage them? These fixes generated a lot of positive feedback and love for Mod Pi, can we get at least a comment on the status of these fixes?

Update and addendum to this comment (and why I shouldn't look up code and post on discord just before I go to bed...)

If you're running enhanced devoted and devoted together, devoted can only roll while enhanced devoted is active. There is a very small 1 cycle internal cooldown that both devoted and enhanced devoted use to ensure you only get one roll of the perk per cycle. Enhanced devoted rolls first and then applies this cooldown and this stops devoted from rolling after. If enhanced devoted us up however, it does not apply this cooldown and the code falls though to devoted allowing it to trigger.

I'll pseudo code below to better explain:

It may be rude of me to say, but I’ll say it now since it seems the most appropriate.

I do not think Mod Pi is a good game designer. Nearly every piece of content he seems to have control over always ends up ruining a core portion of the game.

  • Runespan threw actual runecrafting out the window.
  • EOCs initial design and concept had a multitude of flaws.
  • All PvP updates have caused situations in and out out of PvP to be worse.

That being said I think Mod Pi is brilliant when it comes to implementing cool concepts and ideas. It’s almost always really creative and has an interesting approach to introducing content.

I think he plays a really important role at Jagex in implementing updates and providing interesting ideas for discussion, but I don’t think he should be the one deciding the exact implementation from a balance perspective.

That is just my personal observation though. I could be complete wrong on the actual internal stuff.

Thought I'd retort here to what is some very useful and very fair feedback from Rubic here. These are also points I’ve wants to say for quite a while and I still to this day kick myself for but I live my life by a set of rules and one of these rules is that I can forgive myself for my mistakes provided that I learn from it and don't make it again. That said the points that you have raised specifically I do have more info that I'd like to share it has been a while and we have learned from what we did wrong with these updates.

Initially the aims for the runespan update was to release a minigame which the players could do for some runecrafting xp to break up the grindy-ness of the skill. When I approached this I raised that this will not fix the players issues with runecrafting in that it is a very dry skill that is not fun to train. The speed to get it released is far from just me fixing it, /u/JagexIago did the WIP QA quickly, /u/ModEasty moved it to RC and released it and another mod tested it in RC too. All of them are required to get you a fix super quickly so #GoTeam!
