I think a comments section would be helpful for this sort of survey, as I sometimes find the options lacking (e.g. I don't mind as long as it's afk, but no I think it's fine but only if it's not afk)

Understandably this requires a much higher attention to the results, so maybe it would be better to just try and include more options.

This is the first survey and is focused on gauging the temperature with you guys on the broad thoughts we're having at the moment.

There'll be more focused surveys later on which may ask for specific opinions.

So, been hearing a lot about issues with drops.

Be aware that this is one day of data only for the new drop tables. The red line shows the MEDIAN drop value per kill (Median = Average without statistical outliers, like hatchet drops).

My thoughts, based only on one day of data, are that Supreme and Prime are right where we wanted them; supreme is worth the same as prime per kill and median on Prime's drops seems to have remained its usual range.

Rex is the only thing we'll keep an eye on, as that median average doesn't seem to have increased significantly.

The Nerf on Talismans was in part to help bring parity to the drops tables, but also because the number dropped was determined before talismans became super useful.

Let me tell you something, as I've just died for the 15th time trying to defeat this boss, without managing to do that even once, using the absolute top-end gear, THIS FIGHT IS NOT WORTHWHILE KILLING. The fight is an extremely lazy, poorly designed piece of shit content that nobody wanted in this game.

I don't enjoy it because it's a very sloppy PvM experience. Typeless damage you can't protect from, getting dragged into the bombs, getting your prayer removed after a second. Forget the profit, there's no profit in this even, and I didn't expect any in the first place.

The thing that I'd welcome to see is turning this fight into something better because right now it's a miserable experience, dying over and over to something I can't counteract.

Hey 5-x, sorry to hear you're struggling with Nomad Hardmode.

/u/10000Swags has put together an incredible guide for killing Nomad in less than 8 minutes. A lot of the community have been helping out to flesh out tactics and discuss it.

What do you like about it, what would you like to change?

As someone who's interested in absolute completion the achievement system is perfect for me, sadly this isn't what I hoped for at all.

Current issues:

  • Path system seems useless to me as a high level player.
  • Some of the paths seem redundant, just completed two different ones where all I had to do was teleport to GWD and Tollheim
  • Pictures are pointlessly large. The majority don't convey any useful information e.g. I don't know which task set level, easy, medium, etc most tasks belong to. The rest appear to be the same basic image of the logo. Also the image of the teleport symbol are horribly stretched (see picture). Comp/trim/MQC should use pictures of the cape.

  • Layout isn't great: Tracker doesn't shrink well at all, and has to be larger than most other UI boxes.

  • Only being able to pin 3 different achievements at a time, I have 4 trim reqs left so it's most inconvenient. Ideally pinning as many as I want would be nice

  • Achievements still being located in the hero tab when they fit under adventures much better.

  • More filtering options, I have few achievements left, someone with lots left is going to be completely overwhelmed. e.g. Needs a 'only show stuff I have reqs for'

  • 'Almost there...' section doesn't link anywhere

  • With 'Hide completed' checked the cape achievements should hide completed stuff. Like this.

  • Drop down menus off Areas and PvM should close if you click on them again

  • There should be an indication of which drop down menu you're currently viewing


Current bug I found:

I'm still comped but now that elite seers task is displaying as incomplete... You were too slow at fixing it and growing some potatoes in Catherby ticked off the achievement. However my total achievements completed has now decreased by 2. Pretty sure it should be 1189. I've bug reported this. Fixed after update! :)


What sort of paths do you think we be useful for yourself or for a player coming back from a long absence?

Needs a what's new section, that'd be useful for everyone.

The way the system was described with always being able to give players something to do, if we could have that, e.g. generate us a path, that'd be really cool. So if I had a comp reqs left it would suggest the next fastest thing for me to do.


What kinds of new achievements would get you excited in the future?

Adding stuff that isn't currently tracked but is complete-able. Some things off the top of my head would be:

  • GWD2 reputation
  • (Insane) Final Boss & other Death unlocks that aren't part of trim
  • other unlock-able titles e.g. hidden prif ones, surivior title from dom tower etc
  • unlocking all abilities + prayers
  • Arc progress
  • outfits e.g. xp boosting sets
  • mini-game rewards
  • PoH costume room and potentially other storage areas too
  • 120 / 200m in skills

It's there to give them a set of short term goals to reach high level achievements. As a high level player yourself you probably wont benefit from it as much. That being said, what kinds of paths would interest you as a high level player?

You're a high level player coming to that path, probably after gaining access to GWD and killing a boss or two. All that was left was for you to use the teleport again to unlock an achievement. Just wanted to provide you a quick update on the chat window changes. After listening to your feedback we’ll be taking another look at the UI and coming up with a design that takes your needs into account, but also the needs of new players.

The change we made on Monday was to present information in a more understandable way. Results of playtests and analytics suggest that the chat window and a new player’s ability to interact with other players is somewhat overwhelming. The result of this is that many of these players are put off from communicating with other players in the game, which is a bad thing because a player that is involved with the community gets into the game quicker and forms relationships which keeps them enjoying the game.

Hope this helps you to understand our reasoning behind the change.

Can they be changed back to 75%?

Unfortunately not; the system is automated and the earlier game restart caused the discounts to update. Not to worry though, other Oddments discounts will appear in the future.
