Hello everyone,
First of all, thanks so much to everyone who has already spent time playing BEYOND and letting us know about any issues you’ve experienced. It’s overwhelming to watch thousands of players begin or continue their journey across the universe.
Steam users are able to opt-in to the Experimental Branch, where we have pushed a rapid patch to fix a number of crashes and other problems seen since release. We’ll be rolling out these fixes to other platforms as soon as possible.
To play in Experimental, right-click on No Man’s Sky from the Steam library page and select “Properties”. Among the available tabs will be the “BETAS” tab. Enter “3xperimental” in the textbox and press “CHECK CODE”, then select it from the dropdown menu.
The patch notes are as follows:
Update to Experimental Branch 16/08
  • Reduce texture quality if it is causing an out of memory error.
  • Don't let the VR player punch in places they aren't allow to use weapons.
  • Revert to the non-device-local heap in low me...

Hello!
Thank you for your patience. Our biggest update yet launches in a little under a week on August 14th and we couldn’t be more excited to share this trailer with you, showing off the massively expanded online component of Beyond for the first time.
BEYOND is the culmination of 12 months of work on what was originally going to be 3 large separate updates.
The more we got into development however, the more those individual pieces started to coalesce and become interdependent on each other.
Virtual Reality is cool and a major undertaking for a procedurally generated universe, but virtual reality becomes all the more enjoyable and immersive when you’re playing with friends, be they VR players or not.
Bringing the social multiplayer enhancements we wanted to make together with VR seemed not only desirable and natural but unstoppable.
Remember that everything you see in our launch trailer can be experienced in VR if you have a headset.
We'll be telling you a little more about some other el... Read more
Hello Everyone,
We know that there is a lot of hunger out there for news and updates on No Man’s Sky. We’re very excited to be able to share more information from behind the scenes.
Our next chapter No Man’s Sky: Beyond, is coming on August 14th!
Beyond will contain three major updates rolled into one larger free release. These changes are a mix of features we’ve been dreaming of for a while, and a reaction to how we have seen folks playing since the release of NEXT.
An expanded Online experience will bring a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together.
Meanwhile VR support will bring the entire game experience to life in virtual reality. Grab the joystick and thruster to fly your starship over an unexplored alien planet as you peer out of the cockpit at the view below. Hello Everyone,
We’re very excited to be able to tell you more about No Man’s Sky: Beyond. A major free update coming in summer 2019 and the next big chapter in our journey.
Beyond is the culmination of several different strands of development. The first component, No Man’s Sky Online[www.nomanssky.com], was announced a few weeks ago. A dramatically updated multiplayer experience means players will be able to explore and play together like never before.
Today we’re thrilled to announce the next major component of Beyond: No Man’s Sky Virtual Reality[www.nomanssky.com].
As creators of No Man’s Sky, we are in love with everything sci-fi. Virtual reality feels like a science fiction become real, and has always seemed like a perfect fit for this futuristic game of ours.
It’s completely unique to land on a world that no-one has ever seen before and to really feel as if you’re there, and the team has worked so hard to make this a true VR experience rather than a port.
Grab the joystick and thruste... Read more

Hello Everyone,
We know that there is a lot of hunger out there for news and updates on No Man’s Sky. We wanted to share some information from behind the scenes.
Our next chapter will be called No Man’s Sky: Beyond, coming Summer 2019.
Each chapter for No Man’s Sky has been more successful than the last. Thanks to our community, NEXT our large release last year was especially so. It went on to bring enjoyment to millions of new players, and it helped to change the legacy of this game we care so much about.
Earlier this year, whilst working on our roadmap of three future updates, we decided we wanted to interweave their features, and had a vision for something much more impactful.
We are excited to announce that Beyond will contain those three major updates rolled into one larger free release.
The first component of Beyond we are announcing today is No Man’s Sky Online.
No Man’s Sky Online includes a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers playe... Read more

Hello Everyone!
It's already been a very busy month for us! Today we are releasing a new update for No Man's Sky, which includes a new Community Research mission, more customisable flora for your base, a terrarium, a striking new Gek-inspired helmet, and a number of minor gameplay fixes and improvements. More on that below.
You may also have heard that last week we announced The Last Campfire[thelastcampfiregame.com] - an adventure about a search for meaning and a way home, developed by a tiny subset of our small team. We're yet to announce platforms, but the game is available to wishlist on Steam now.
Community Research Update
Earlier this month, many thousands of Specialist Polo's friends worked together, across multiple realities, to contribute floral discoveries to a mass data pool. Biological information about alien plants was funneled into the Space Anomaly, and ultimately into the Quicksilver Synthesis Bot, where the data was processed in... Read more

Hello Everyone!
It's now been a week since we released Visions[www.nomanssky.com], and we're so happy to see players discovering and enjoying the new colour palettes, exotic landscapes, flora and fauna, and new rare items and curiosities to collect! We think we've succeeded in enhancing the sci-fi aesthetic of No Man's Sky, and making the universe a little bit stranger - something we hope to continue doing in the future.
Today, we are releasing a patch to address a few gameplay and stability issues. We also wanted to write a small development update to highlight some community activity and reflect on the status of the ongoing two-week research mission.
Community Research Update
Specialist Polo and Priest Entity Nada have detected another shift in the fabric of realities - an aftershock of the universal regeneration that occurred only a few months ago. Dead planets have awakened and twisted into strange new environments, and Polo invites their ex... Read more
Hello Everyone!
It’s quite amazing to look back and realise that since July this year we have released over a dozen free updates for No Man’s Sky.
NEXT[www.nomanssky.com] was our largest update ever, introducing third person play, multiplayer, massive enhancements to base building, frigate fleets, and much more. Then in October, we added the Pilgrim exocraft[www.nomanssky.com] and made a number of general improvements to exocraft - including customisation, and a new buildable summoning station. Later that same month, we released another update - The Abyss[www.nomanssky.com] - that focused on eerie underwater visuals and gameplay, adding new environments, story missions, the Nautilon submarine, and more.
We’re never quite sure what to expect when we release these updates, and the positive response from the community means so much to us. It’s an essential part of our journey to listen and respond to the voices of our most passionate players, and so a little over a month ago, we created a su... Read more

Hello Everyone!
We hope you have been enjoying the most recent additions to the game with last week’s large update! The team here are concentrating hard on the upcoming features, but we continue to balance this with time dedicated to optimisation and ironing out issues that are important to players and to us.
This week’s update addresses a few high priority issues and introduces the Space Anomaly’s next community research mission!
Community Research Update
Specialist Polo’s research has taken a new direction this week, after their analysis of the Sentinel data yielded some surprising results. The Sentinels are tracking other anomalous signals, signals currently unknown to Nada and Polo.
They have pinpointed the location of what appears to be the echo of another Traveller-Entity. The Anomaly itself cannot travel to this location, for fear of further alerting the Sentinels. Polo asks for help in finding this mysterious being - or in finding whatev... Read more
Hello Everyone!
We are so excited to finally share the focus of our development efforts over the past few weeks: a large update focused on improving and extending planetary exocraft!
A brand new exocraft is now available to drive across the galaxies: the rugged, fast-moving Pilgrim.
The Geobay for the Pilgrim is available for purchase from the Blueprint Analyser.
The existing exocraft have also been tweaked. Multiplayer racing has been fixed, inventory sizes have been increased, and summoning has been made easier. Geobays now only need to be built once - after that, all owned exocraft can be summoned with unlimited range on any planet where you’ve constructed a new Exocraft Summoning Station.
New upgrades for the Pilgrim and all other exocraft can be purchased from the Exocraft Technician once their missions are complete. Exocraft handling can also be adjusted with a series of new technologies, allowing players to customise the grip or drift levels of their different vehicles.
Your exocraft ... Read more

It’s been exciting to see the range of ways players have been exploring the features introduced in our exocraft update - from pushing the limits of the Pilgrim’s grip and suspension, to matching the colour schemes between bases and exocraft. Thank you so much for playing and for sharing. It really makes us feel like we’re on this journey together with all of you.
Listening to you, the players, is an essential part of this journey for us. This week we are reaching out with a survey to discover more about what the community is most interested in seeing in No Man's Sky. Please take this opportunity to have your voice heard!
Explorer Feedback Survey[hellogames.typeform.com]
Community Research Update Polo has been deeply immersed in their analysis of the co-ordinates retrieved from the decrypted data packet, cross-comparing against the Anomaly's extensive databanks. They are still lost in data, processing an infinite spread of realitie... Read more
Hello Everyone!
We've had a tremendous response to last week's Explorer Feedback Survey[hellogames.typeform.com]. Thank you for all the intelligent and passionate responses, and for helping us paint a clear picture of the community's preferences and priorities. The survey will remain open for a little while longer, so there is still time to contribute your perspective and help us shape the roadmap for No Man's Sky.
Community Research Update Specialist Polo has at last emerged from the most involved data analysis they have ever undertaken - followed up by a more physical challenge in their workshop, crafting a new device to move this mystery forwards. They are exhausted and disoriented, but triumphant: they have identified the exact origin of the logs left by their lost Traveller-friends, ultimately a question of "when", rather than where.
Polo requests that participating explorers apply this specialised device to a number of transmission devices on a specific world, characterised by ove... Read more

No Man's Sky NEXT launched just a couple of months ago. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the positive response. We are excited to be on this journey with you.
Over the months since release we have been adding new free content, community missions and improvements to No Man's Sky every week. From small features like allowing players to customise body shape, to large gameplay additions like the Pilgrim motorbike, and companion features such as addition of discovery leaderboards to the Galactic Atlas, allowing the community to track progress between factions.
We have enjoyed posting weekly development updates and highlighting some of what players are up to in our game. It's so gratifying, and often quite touching, to see how No Man's Sky and the community have grown and evolved.
We've been listening intently, and are hard at work on fixes and improvements. We wanted to share a little news from behind the scenes.
Whilst most of the team have been busy on weekly updates, a h... Read more

Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for the positive response to The Abyss update for No Man’s Sky, released only a few days ago. We’ve really enjoyed seeing players experiment with the new base parts, explore the enhanced aquatic environments in the Nautilon submarine, and share their close encounters with fearsome underwater predators.
The team here is keeping up the pace this week with another update, patching up a few issues and introducing the next Community Research mission.
Community Research Update
This week, Priest Entity Nada is reaching out to explorers for assistance with Polo’s research missions. Their Gek friend, rattled by the events revisited by the time-altering device, has fallen into an introspective mood, and appears to have withdrawn from the project. Nada intends to act fast to overcome this - with help from their traveller friends across the galaxies.
Nada requests that explorers travel to a strange, colourless planet, and ph... Read more
