it's part of our evil plan to make the onboarding flow and new player experience a bit better. joe talks about it a bit in the april riot pls
riven. i think a good riven player can 1v5 more successfully than anyone. i missed one ban on riven this season and i ended up against a 650k mastery player and
actually i fed pretty hard and our yorick did very well but i'm gonna blame riven anyway
Hello Riot. Question: Do you have a user communication department? If so, why did they choose a strategy of total silence about Wild Rift? People go crazy in forums and chat rooms, only quarrels and disputes. Why not give people at least some information? Perhaps some pictures, concepts, features will do futer player more patient 😁
Heya - i'm not technically part of this AMA but we don't have any news to share right now. your best bet is to follow our twitter account @wildrift to be the first to know when we do have new updates!
its coming home
the real winner is the fact that someone noticed lmao
lucky, most of us are trash
My idea for the app icon which the art team very smartly shot down was Jinx "sarcastically" doing the shouty three-quarter angle face. I'm glad Ezreal feels like a good fit!
first time's the charm
Isn't that what GMT+1, GMT+2 etc are for?
Imo that's a much more logical way of denoting time zones. All you need to do is remember how many hours away from GMT you are and it's a very, very simple calculation to figure out what time something is for you.
the problem then comes from the fact that people think they're in GMT all the time
CEST still too complicated, we use Paris Time now. Guess that's at least some improvement.
whenever i wrote any posts like this i would always use [city] time because it's so easy to mess up timezones (especially when some parts of the world change their clocks at different times). also the "S" in CEST means "summer" and the S in PST means "standard". so confusing :(
my job is leading the communications team on league but i just like to shitpost
OK, I know that most people who are raging in this thread have no idea about design, but I'll try and clear this up.
It's good because:
- It ditches the shield that's behind the logotype, which will make using the new logo easier on different backgrounds.
- It uses a sans serif font (mostly; there's still vestigial serifs on the Ls and on the A), which makes the text more legible at smaller sizes and more modern.
- The font is more uniform, both in size and glyph shape. It makes it possible to turn it into an actual typeface that can be used in multiple ways.
- The modest detailing will make this logo WAY easier to animate, which is pretty key if you want to use it in... idk, video games and live streams?
- New logo is way thicker and has a distinct outline - yet again making it much more legible, especially at smaller sizes and with lower contrast.
- You can now actually make a 1:1 monochrome version of the logo to be used in screen printing or embroidery, which will make it much easier to use it on merch.
I get that people don't like change but this reaction is way out of proportion. The new logo is fine and it will help use the branding in every medium - from stream production, to merch.
A lot of people are mistaking the logo for an illustration. Logos are meant to be clean, legible and easy to reproduce and this one is all that. That doesn't mean the branding will be dull or interesting. Aside from the logo itself, the branding consists of key art, color palette, patterns, typography, animations and a slew of other things that create a cohesive imagery. Having a simple logo helps make all the other things shine. Just look at how simple the LEC logo is and how well it works with the rest of the branding.
thanks for the thoughts! if i was making an indie band i'd definitely call it the Vestigial Serifs
no lie i slacked this to ben last night https://i.imgur.com/Fxm5yCu.png

i wish we were that coordinated, cactopus is just a renegade
On Reddit, sure, but that doesn’t really matter. We didn’t bring back solo queue because of sentiment on Reddit. We brought it back because the data showed that people around the world were starting to actually play less because of dynamic queue. We don’t really care about Reddit sentiment alone because it’s so fickle. It’s just like the first layer of input we can get from the audience (most of which isn’t on Reddit)
