/u/DBPromptCritical can you help maybe? char name is olischoberx

Welcome back! It looks like you are getting the dreaded BattlEye Corrupted Memory #0 Error. The FAQ says:

BattlEye detects that your game’s or system’s memory is not what it is supposed to be.
Close all unnecessary programs running on the system, scan your system for viruses/trojans/spyware and check your RAM for possible defects (using tools like Memtest86).
If that doesn’t help a full repair reinstallation of your system is likely needed.

I would suggest starting there and let me know if anything changes.

Got disconnected from Connery at the end of it, but I managed to run the tool linked by Erendil for about 15 minutes or so. Here's a copy-paste of what it recorded: https://pastebin.com/GWHgpXSR

Something is definitely not right. This is your route to Las Vegas - about 5,500km

Shaw is routing you all the way to Equinix Chicago and handing you off to Level3 (with plenty of packet loss) to take you back to Las Vegas.

Shaw is part of internet exchanges in Seattle and San Jose - both of which would be much faster into Las Vegas. Perhaps they are doing some extended maintenance. It might be worth an email or phone call to their support.

So if I'm running a VPN to minimise the hops to Connery, I want to set my exit node to Las Vegas, and not San Diego? I think it's currently set to Los Angeles

To be fair, the difference between all of those locations is only a few hundred kilometers. I suppose the closer you can get to Switch the better.

What could have caused the sudden doubling of my average latency values, on the day that the issues were supposedly 'fixed'?

The issues we fixed were related to packet loss within the Las Vegas datacenter. Losing packets, especially those that keep the client and the server in sync, would cause the "Server Latency" value in the UI to jump to ridiculous values (tens of thousands).

It's difficult to guess what particular issue you are having, but I recommend running a traceroute or following the advice given below and let me know what your route looks like (via reply or PM).

64.37.174.142 is the address of one of several gateway servers that host players on Connery. They are physically located in Las Vegas.

A BSOD will almost always be caused by something running in kernel mode. It is extremely rare to have something in the user space cause a BSOD. Like all other Windows applications, Planetside2 runs in the user space. I would not expect any application developer to be able to help you with a kernel issue.

With that being said, we can do some additional troubleshooting. If the problem is only happening with Planetside2, I suspect the problem is with BattleEye. BattleEye has several pieces, but one of them is a driver (that runs in Kernel mode) that starts when Planetside2 starts.

As others have mentioned in this thread, I recommend the BattleEye support FAQ, or just a good ol' fashioned Google search: battleye kernel security check failure

The most common reasons for this BSOD appear to be:

  • Running insider and/or non-public Windows builds
  • Collision with other drivers (specifically other anti-cheat) drivers

Hope that helps you out.

I had to roll my windows update back to the 1803 build to stop it. Seems the 1903 build has broken battleye

I didn't want to respond to OP until I heard back from BattleEye. This is indeed the issue. They are working on a fix for this today.

I am with Deutsche Telekom. I have massive problems during prime time. My ping goes up to 170ms, while it stays at ~60ms in the moring. When i tracer cobalts IP i get a huge increase when it reaches 80.157.129.202. Other users in germany suggest it is because Deutsche Telekom has very bad peering. My Cobalt name is BlauesAuge

Edit: I once tried using a VPN from my University when i had realy bad ping. With the VPN my ping went down to ~80.

Thank you for the information. If you have some free time today, could you please send me a PM with the full traceroute? Much appreciated!

No, not public unfortunately.

Here you go. Connery is in Las Vegas. Definitely worse than AMS in terms of overall latency, although Connery is the most diverse in terms of physical connection distances.

Both Miller and Cobalt are physically located in Amsterdam. Here is a chart I put together showing the average latency of all players into both worlds between 9 PM and 10 PM CEST tonight.

The chart shows that about 50% of the people had 50ms or better, and about 80% had 70 ms or better. Assuming you were at 130ms for that hour, you would be in the bottom 5% of all players. Definitely not good and not normal.

It could be a problem unique to your route into the datacenter, or there could be congestion in the datacenter itself (we had similar problems with Orange and Deutsche Telekom in the past). If you don't mind sharing one of your character names (via reply or PM), I can do a bit more digging to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

As far as server latency goes, subtracting 130 ms from 150-200ms gives values between 20 and 70ms, which I would expect on a full continent. Note that each continent (Indar, Hossin, Amerish, Esamir, etc) runs in a separate process, so each...

/u/Wrel not bannable for real?

You will not be banned for using this overlay.

Thanks. I'm hoping that if I keep up the good work they will offer me a full time position at the end of the summer.

Sorry you are having trouble getting into the game. If you don't mind sharing one of your character names here (or privately via PM), I can take a look on our end and see if I can help.

Edit - Thanks for the information. Good news is that this crash has only affected 9 people in the last week. Bad news is those 9 people are crashing ALL the time. Looks like it is a conflict between our in-game chat (Vivox) and something else running on those PCs. Hope to have more information for you when folks return from holiday tomorrow.

Hi - just to verify - you were seeing these problem when playing on Indar, correct?

Aye, the Cobalt/Indar zone process is having issues. We are looking into it. Miller/Amerish and Miller/Hossin have similar populations and are running great. Cobalt/Amerish is also running well.

No love for Indar.

Thank you for making sure that the Planetside2 community had an internal voice at Daybreak, and thank you for pulling all of us ex-team members in whenever the game needed a little extra TLC.

whenever the game needed a little extra TLC

Speaking of, and without knowing if you still are on these things, but just these 2 problems we talked about half a year ago are back again:

Thanks for letting me know, and sorry this is the way I have to find out. It looks like this was resolved at some point and then the "fix" got clobbered by the DX11 merge. Getting some folks to take a look now.

xPaffDaddyx

sorry this is the way I have to find out.

That's strange because I did a post 1 month ago and DBGPaul replied that they know and are aware

That appears to be a separate issue. We fixed the "Online Status" and "Friends" services about 12 hours ago.

Missing API data is... not good... I will look into this too.

Hi folks,

I know there are several ongoing issues with our stats API and I'd like to do some deeper investigation. If you are having a particular issue with your character please let me know in this thread or send me a PM. Please be sure to include your character's name or unique ID.

Here are a few things that I know aren't working properly:

Things that I have been told but can't yet verify would include:

  • Character does not show up in a census query
  • Statistics for a particular [character, weapon] combination are different in game versus the API

Thanks

Update: All characters should show up in census queries now, and stats should be up-to-date as well. Please let me know if this is not the case. Still plenty more to fix.

Problem: Ingame I have around 1400 kills with the new ESF weapon the Wyrm. On stat pages I have zero and on killboards it shows as a "magic weapon" and don't show up in the weapon list. Weapons List

Killboard see 324 as an example

Edit: Other Example for this is the Kindred for me(Weapon ID 6005049) Ingame i have a few kills with it but the API does return a zero to me http://census.daybreakgames.com/json/get/ps2/character?name.first_lower=paffdaddytr&c:join=characters_weapon_stat_by_faction%5Einject_at:itemstats%5Elist:1%5Ehide:character_id%27last_save%27last_save_date

OK Let's start with the Wyrm.

The TR version of the Wyrm is defined here. That looks correct. http://census.daybreakgames.com/get/ps2:v2/item?item_id=6006063

The number of kills you have with that weapon can be found here. http://census.daybreakgames.com/get/ps2:v2/characters_weapon_stat_by_faction?character_id=5428130184536795569&item_id=6006063&stat_name=weapon_kills

That does not return any data. That is not good. I also checked your in-game stats and there is no data for the Wyrm either. Also not good. Looking at your achievement data, you got an Auraxium medal for the Wyrm on 16 April, so the achievement is working properly.

Next, let's look at your killboard for 324. That missing weapon is the "NSX-P Tengu", defined here. http://census.daybreakgames.com/get/ps2:v2/item?item_id=6006239

I'm not sure why that shows up as an unknown weapon. The only reason I can think of is that we don't have an icon (yet) for the weapon on the website. Perhaps that is preventing Fisu from d...
