you can switch to the legacy_1.5.6 branch on steam and stay on 1.5. Then your mods will still work.

The Stardew Valley 1.6 update is here!
I hope you all enjoy the update.
This update adds new content to the game, focusing mainly on the valley, with additions and improvements to almost all areas of the game. There are also a ton of quality of life features, and bug fixes.
Some of the changes:
  • A new major festival
  • Two new mini festivals
  • A new environmental event
  • Hundreds of new lines of dialogue
  • A new end-game skill system
  • New crops, crafting items, furniture, and more
  • A new farm type: Meadowlands Farm
  • Multiple pets
  • WAY MORE, I don't want to spoil everything

Full patch notes (with spoilers) can be found here[www.stardewvalley.net] and here[stardewvalleywiki.com] Read more

Hello everyone,

Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update is out now on PC!

A mostly complete changelog can be found here: https://www.stardewvalley.net/stardew-valley-1-6-update-full-changelog
Be aware there are spoilers in that log… I recommend playing the update without spoilers!

If you do encounter any bugs, please report them in this forum thread: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/report-1-6-issues-here-march-19.27915/

Thanks for pointing it out. Fixed in 1.6 👍

Hello everyone,
Today is Stardew Valley's 8th anniversary. That's a long time, I can't believe it's been so long. But the game is doing great, especially here on Steam which was the first platform I launched the game on, and have always considered it "home". It's an honor that Stardew Valley has been so well-received here on Steam, and I thank all of you for playing the game and creating a cool community around it!
What better day than today to announce the new 1.6 update release date:
March 19th, 2024
This update adds some new content to the game. I will release patch notes on the day of launch, but I think it would be more fun for you to just play the update and discover everything yourself. The update will work perfectly fine with your existing save files, but I'd recommend starting a new file to get all the new stuff in context (and because it's always fun to start a new file). You may even want to start with the new farm type.
With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert ... Read more

hey, it was great meeting you guys! it was fun to do the doodles, my only regret is that I wish I had drawn morris' arms a little longer...

You can edit your save file. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley/Saves and find the folder _ .

First, back up your save in case something goes wrong.

Go in there and use notepad to open the file with the same name as the folder. Ctrl+f for "experiencepoints". You'll see a series of 6 values like xy ... set all the numbers to 0. Then ctrl+f for "farminglevel". You'll see similar tags like: 10 ... set all those to 0. Also set the tag to 0. Assuming you didn't already get to level 5 or 10 and get any professions, this should reset you back to the beginning. If you did get professions, ctrl+f for professions and replace the tag with . Also replace the tag with if there was anything there.

Here is a "sneak peek" at some of the stuff that will be coming in the 1.6 update. I have no release date for it yet, but will release it as soon as it's ready. The content is pretty close to being finished, but then there will need to be testing, polishing and translations before it can launch on PC.
Thank you for playing Stardew Valley!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share a few things about the upcoming Stardew Valley Cookbook. If you haven’t heard about it yet, there’s an official cookbook coming out on May 14, 2024, published by Penguin Random House.

It’s been in the works for quite some time!

The cookbook features more than 50 recipes from the game (adapted to work in your real life kitchen), including some of Stardew Valley’s unique fare like the Lucky Lunch, Strange Bun, Seafoam Pudding, Pink Cake, and much more. The recipes (which, in keeping with the game, are either pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan) were all developed by Susan Vu.

The book features lots of great photography, as well as fun & beautiful illustrations from Kari Fry, who has produced a ton of Stardew Valley’s official artwork, perhaps most well known from the Stardew Valley Guidebook. And the writing in the book is done by Ryan Novak (also of the Stardew Valley Guidebook) and myself. Each recipe has a unique introductory write-up, sometimes fr...

not a bad idea. I'll be moving some things around in the new update, since there are some new items you learn. I'll consider something like this

Stardew Valley is 20% off for a week. During this time, 100% of all revenue will go to help protect whales, dolphins, belugas, and other aquatic mammals through the WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) charity. Thank you for your support.

I really like Belugas.

@ZianRye yeah It just sounded good to me, that's how I came up with most of these names, like "stardew" or "junimo". It's just a feeling. that's funny it's translated to "coal pit forest" in chinese, I had no idea
@Ahmedab09648491 yeah if you want to make it look good
@chesshaire no, it's on all versions (except PSP)
@chesshaire oh, and it's not on the tesla version either
@rlfernandees looks great!
@michellebrenden Congratulations 🤝
