Hi. Battle pass designer here. All of the above challenges have been replaced with "Win games". Based on player feedback I've removed any challenge that requires the player to take specific actions during gameplay, and I'll be scaling back on that sort of challenge in the future. Anyone who has already completed these challenges will be able to keep their stars and earn additional stars for the new challenges. You should be seeing that in the update releasing today.

Also the grind to get to 80 is gonna be big and i think it ends on 30 days... lol good luck. You either buy one skin or get the battle pass. Or buy a pack and get more skins plus a key plus battle pass tiers.

We will be extending the pre-season battle pass so there will be plenty of time for OP to earn the key.

Will the Alpha Hunter challenge be changed to something else?

It will be changed to “play games”. If you’ve already finished the alpha hunters challenge you’ll keep your stars and you’ll be able to earn the stars again on “play games”.

Don't forget the Weekend Warriors. When I was younger, I would totally play every day and put in some serious hours, but now that I'm older, I have transitioned into more of a weekend warrior.

I do play a good number of hours on the weekend, which makes up for not playing during the week, but this does mean in a system like this, that I will be missing the majority of the dailies, even though I may play as much, or more, than someone who plays casually every day.

I feel you and I’m often in the same boat. I’ll be rebalancing battle stars in future passes to make sure weekend players can complete the pass. In the meantime at some point in the next couple releases daily challenges will get an increase in how many stars they award to help weekend players.

Hi battle pass designer here. Thanks for your feedback. In the short term based on feedback like this I’ve replaced a number of challenges that require the player to take specific actions with “play games”. It should be deploying somewhere among the next couple builds. I recognize that folks want to see a battle pass that doesn’t require you to think about it while in the game. In future passes I’ll be restructuring the challenges to be more along these lines.

Some have noted this already but the reason pass progression is designed around challenges is so that we can offer value in the pass to all players willing to make a certain minimum time commitment. Some players can only play a few hours a week, others play 40. The challenges mean that everyone has a chance to complete the pass, and all players complete it within an order of magnitude of time of each other. Quick question: since alpha hunters is going to be unavailable, what about the battle pass challenges that are "get 4th place or higher in x amount of alpha hunter games," will those get changed or?

Hi, battle pass designer here. Based on player feedback we've decided to simplify the types of challenges and bias towards challenges that don't require the player to take specific actions or fight over resources with their teammates. So those challenges and all challenges pertaining to removed game modes will be removed and in the short term replaced with "Play Matches" challenges. If you complete those challenges before they're replaced, you'll keep your stars and also you'll be able to do the new challenge for bonus stars.

I do love the enthusiasm and consistency behind these updates. It's a breathe of fresh air in comparison to other developers that are much more silent. The early MW or Apex days are a good example of that.

Seeing just how passionate the dev is on the YouTube video makes me only wish the best for this team. Hope everything pans out.

Hi. Battle pass designer here. Thanks for bringing this up. I definitely want this to be the way it works at some point, but for various reasons we haven't gotten there yet.

In the short time for this and other reasons the number of battle pass challenges requiring this sort of thing will be going down, and whether I can award for assists will be a factor in whether they come back.

Also, over the next couple of updates we'll be deploying an update for all capture amplifier and kill hive challenges so that they share credit with all teammates.

It might be 10 hours of play per week. But split evenly throughout the week. Meanwhile someone like me can play even 16 hours/day on my 2 days off but none on the others. I’m literally screwed.

Fair point. Thanks for pointing this out. I can't promise any update to this pass but I'll bear it in mind when designing future passes.

Thank you very much for the clarification and the willingness to make adjustments later. Is it planned to allow levels of the Battle Pass to be purchased? That way players could use Credits earned from the Battle Pass to finish it if they're a little short near the end?

Currently the only way of purchasing tiers is by purchasing the founders pack. I don't own the store content, but I'll be forwarding this feedback to the team that does.

Hello. Battle pass designer here. My goal with the battle pass is that players should be able to unlock everything through about 10 hours per week of normal play, in other words, without having to do anything special. I'm keeping an eye on the numbers and also playing through the pass myself to make sure this is the case. I've already reduced by half the amplifier and hive challenges for this reason, and in future seasons the game will award challenge progress to the whole team if anyone captures an amplifier or defeats a hive. Next season will also feature fewer of the sort that requires a player to perform a situational action, such as the "damage enemies with spike plants" challenge.

If we see players exhibiting degenerate behavior like what you're worried about, or if we see them taking more than the expected time to unlock challenges, then I'll be dialing back challenges accordingly.

Hi. Battle pass designer here.

There are 64 weekly missions, each awarding 10 stars, total 640. Each day you get 3 daily missions, each awarding 2 or 3 stars, total 2.5 (average stars per day) * 3 (missions per day) * 8 (weeks) * 7 (days per week) = 420 stars. 640 + 420 = 1060 stars. The pass has 80 tiers of 10 stars each, so it requires 800 stars to complete.

Also remember you can complete weekly challenges at any time, you don't have to complete them in the week they become available.

If you get unlucky and mostly get 2 star missions, or if you buy the battle pass after week 6, it may be impossible to complete. This being the first battle pass I'll be keeping a close eye on this. Please forward me any feedback you have. :)
