  • [With regional restarts] Legacy loot rules are now in place for Legion raids and dungeons.
    • Developers’ note: Standard encounters drop an amount of loot scaled by the amount of players in the raid, which results in fewer pieces for players who defeated encounters in small groups or as a solo player. In Legacy loot rules, raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot, regardless of the group size.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Il’gynoth, Corruption Reborn
    • Cursebreak damage within the smallest ring sizes reduced by 30% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Developers’ note: With the following change to Cursebreak, raid groups are far less punished for dispelling the debuff with proper timing.
  • Carapace of N’Zoth
    • Resolved an issue where Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve sometimes attempted to send players to Wrathion twice.

  • Draconic Empowerment (Rank 12 effect) now grants the wearer 3,648 of their primary stat when triggered (was 3,386).
  • Corrupted Items
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the Gouged Eye of N’Zoth from adding sockets to some raid weapons with a set Corrupted Effect (e.g. Eyestalk of Il’gynoth).
    • Fixed a bug that prevented Ineffable Truth (Corruption Effect) from reducing the cooldown on some abilities that have charges.

At 3:00 p.m. PDT (6:00 p.m. EDT) on Wednesday, March 11, we will unlock the Arathi Basin Battleground in WoW Classic. Players who are level 20 or above will be able to queue after this time.

• The League of Arathor faction for the Alliance is in the town of Refuge Pointe in the Arathi Highlands zone. The quartermaster here is Samuel Hawke and he’ll be in the town near the entrance to the Battleground.
• The Defilers faction for the Horde is in the town of Hammerfall in the Arathi Highlands zone. The quartermaster here is Rutherford Twing and he is just north of the town near the entrance to the Battleground.

Later that same week, the Battleground Holidays will be kicking off. These will allow players to earn additional Honor and Reputation while playing a specific Battleground. We’ll post the initial schedule for these next week.

    • [With regional restarts] Prophet Skitra now has 2 intermission phases (was 4 intermission phases) on all difficulties.
      • Prophet Skitra now enters intermission phases at 33% and 66% health (was 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% health).
    • [With regional restarts] Dark Ritual’s debuff effect now increases by 4% per stack (was 2% per stack) on all difficulties.
      • Developers’ note: Especially as raids’ overall damage output increases, many groups are spending a disproportionate amount of time dealing with Skitra’s illusions, and often skipping other mechanics entirely. This change is aimed at making the overall pace of the fight more consistent regardless of raid damage.
  • Ra-den the Despoiled
    • [With regional restarts] Void Collapse cast time increased to 4.5 seconds on Raid Finder, Normal, ...

We have made the following change to the Twilight Devastation corrupted effect.

• Twilight Devastation’s effectiveness has been reduced in situations where it strikes more than 5 targets. It has been changed as follows:
  • Deals normal damage on up to 5 targets.
  • Deals 50% reduced damage to targets 6 through 10.
  • Shrinks in radius each time it damages a target above 5, causing it to disappear after hitting 10 targets.

We are looking into this. Thanks so much for the detailed report, this helps a lot.

We have been reading your thoughts on the Corruption changes and have decided to hold them for regional restarts next week. We understand the impact they will make on your gear selection and agree that it makes more sense to do it at the start of a week.

Also during regional restarts, we plan to make some tuning changes to Mythic N’Zoth to better align the encounter with the changes that are being made to players’ Corrupted items.

With a hotfix that is now live on all realms, we’ve adjusted the damage done by several Corruption Effects:

• Damage dealt by Infinite Stars, Twisted Appendages, and Gushing Wound is now based on the item level of the Corrupted item. This previously scaled dynamically with Attack Power and Spell Power.
• Lash of the Void damage is now based on the item level of the Corrupted Item, and now procs less often than before.

Previously the damage dealt by these powers was modified by Attack Power and Spell Power, which meant that certain specialization abilities or random bonuses could cause drastic swings in their effectiveness. Infinite Stars in particular was too strong against single targets as a result of this and other factors.

This change also adjusts Infinite Stars base damage accordingly, as the scaling method was one of the primary factors behind some of the extreme outliers we saw in our logs and from player feedback. Our goal with this change and other adjustments to Corruption powe...

The option to queue for Heroic Battle of Darkshore will become available when the next time a certain faction commences an assault on Darkshore in a given region. Regions that are already partway through a Battle of Darkshore attack cycle will be able to access Heroic difficulty the next time Darkshore comes under attack in Season 4.

If you want a +15 next week, you will want to do a +19 this week. Happy dungeon-ing this weekend all!

Here are some additional issues that we have identified and are actively investigating:

• When items are returned in the mail from the Auction House, it can incorrectly contain more stacks than the displayed maximum of 16. This makes it look like some items are not being delivered. You will know if you are experiencing this if a mail appears empty but can’t be deleted.
  • To retrieve the missing items in this scenario, take out all 16 of the displayed stacks, then close and reopen the mailbox to see the rest (you may need to repeat this several times).
• If a character buys commodities in high quantities, they may not be able to access their mail.
• The favorites list is not saving properly.
• We have resolved some of the issues causing the “Internal Auction Error” to pop up, but it is still occurring and we are continuing to look into it.

We’re seeing some confusion on how to unlock mechagnomes, we have applied a change this evening and want to take a moment to clarify the process. First off, the following achievements need to be completed on any character on the same account:

• Rustbolt Rebellion
• The Mechagonian Threat

If you have done these achievements on any Alliance character(s), you can head to the Alliance Embassy in Stormwind on that character and start the unlock questchain with Aysa Cloudsinger and accepting the quest “Urgent Care”.

If you have done these achievements on a Horde character, you will then need to login on a level 120 Alliance character.

• If this character has already completed the Mechagon Island intro questline that ends with the quest “Welcome To The Resistance”, then the character can head to the Alliance Embassy in Stormwind and pick up the quest “Urgent Care” from Aysa Cloudsinger to start the Allied Race unlock questline.
