Here are the details if you don't want to click the link:

We are preparing a new PC hotfix for tomorrow (Friday, March 13) which includes a priority fix for Meltdown Alerts (reverting certs/ISO-4 rewards) along with additional fixes and changes.

This will require a server bounce (brief downtime) starting at 6:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM GMT. Servers should be down no longer than 1 hour.

Patch Notes:

  • VS Flash can equip cosmetics once again.
  • Outfit resource accrual now updates correctly an owned facility is lost.
  • Meltdown alerts once again grant 250 certs and 300 ISO-4 for a victory, and will grant 150 certs and 150 ISO-4 for a loss.
    • UPDATE: VS will receive no A7 for a loss or runner-up in a Meltdown alert. We're currently looking into this issue. (Fight hard, VS!)

UPDATE @ 5:30PM (Pacific) - We published the following fixes via a client-only hotfix within the past hour.

  • Send Message now functions as intended and no longer brings up the Notifications window.
  • Sanctuary now has the proper art on the World Map screen.
  • Fixed broken text strings for the LA7 Buzzard.

We have a publish that will require a server bounce tentatively targeted for early tomorrow (Friday) morning. More details will be posted shortly.

UPDATE @ 1:35PM (Pacific) - A client-only hotfix was published a short time ago to address two relatively low frequency client crashes. Again, no server downtime required. We are preparing a larger client-only hotfix with about a dozen fixes that we hope to publish later today. More details on that once we can confirm a publish time.

The publish was scheduled to start at 9am Pacific. So yes, we are on-track.

You hear people say, "I eat, breathe and sleep ", and it's really just a line of bullshit that's not true.

I can say with 100% certainty, that Wrel actually eats, breathes and sleeps Planetside. The amount of thought and effort he puts into every single thing he does for Planetside 2 each day (nights and weekends included) is well above and beyond expectations that any reasonable person would have.

UPDATE @ 3:45PM (Pacific) - All North American and Asia servers are unlocked. The EU server maintenance is still in progress, but we believe it should be wrapping up soon and we will unlock immediately.

UPDATE @ 1:25PM (Pacific) - We encountered the same issues with our CDN (Content Delivery Network) provider that caused us to postpone our PTS playtest last week. As a result, the Escalation update cannot be downloaded. We've submitted tickets to their ops team to resolve ASAP. For now, we are waiting for an ETA from them for the issue to be resolved. Will update once we have more details.

Not Russian or Chinese speaking, but how do you handle moving forward as more things are added and more content needs to be translated?

This is specifically the text translations that are in progress right now (HUD, weapons, descriptions, etc). This does not include voice-packs, etc.

It's been a few weeks since we announced our decision to proceed with full Russian and Chinese translations for PS2, so I wanted to give a quick update on the process.

As of this morning, the company we contracted to do the initial translations should have everything back to us by the end of the month (March). Once we've received the drop, there is still a few weeks for integration and bug fixing. At this rate, barring any surprises, we should be on-track for a mid/late-April release of the new translations. However, I'll post an update later this month, once we've had a chance to integrate and get a better estimate on the work needed.

The Daybreak TechOps team just notified us that they are investigating a login issue that impacting all games right now. The same thing happened Saturday night and they are trying to determine the root cause, so it doesn't keep happening again.

I feel like there might have been a few people hoping that with enough Orbital Strikes, that biolab would actually be destroyed.

The only problem with the that is if you target near a biulding or high terrain, the angled shot can be accidentally blocked by daid building walls or cliff before it juts the targeted spot.

You're absolutely right about the angle and obstructions. We literally debated this on Wednesday and agreed that even though it was broken, it looked great and totally intentional. But it would break shit.
