Thanks for the heads up everyone - we're working with the appropriate teams to get this rectified. Hang in there!

Edit: We're starting to see services come back online. Please let us know if you are/aren't able to jump back in. We'll continue to monitor the situation as everything returns back to normal.

Edit 2: There might be a few lingering hiccups, but we believe things should be back to normal now. Please let me know if that isn't the case!

That's way better than I could do. Nicely done!

343: Take my word for it, it's fine

Also 343 during Halo 5 development: Lot of developers leaving, Halo 5 is fine

Uhu, sure thing bro...

There will undoubtedly be things you like and dislike about every game. There will be times this happens because of people leave and times when this happens because people stay. That said, preparing to pin the blame on people leaving/staying a year out from launch probably isn't the best take.

No game is perfect, but we'll certainly do our best.

Soooo, did you like the movie?

It was unsettling, yet amazing - and probably the best movie I only want to have seen once.

Hey all – I wanted to jump in and clarify what Tim & Mary’s roles were at the studio, because there seems to be quite a bit of confusion here. Before that happens though, I’d like to reassure everyone that the entire Halo Infinite team is rallying behind the game and is working hard to make sure we can execute on its vision.

Tim’s role as Creative Director was to help make creative decisions around the design and direction of the game – whether it was campaign, multiplayer, etc. Mary’s role as an Executive Producer and then Lead Producer on Campaign was to help drive the game to its completion for our holiday 2020 release date – with the latter specifically focusing on campaign deliverables.

Unfortunately the thread’s title saying, “He was replace with Mary Olson and she also left,” is far from accurate. It implies that Mary took over creative control of the entire game, didn’t like what she saw, and then decided to leave. If that’s what actually happened, I could totally understand...

Welcome to the community, /u/Owen_Wilkinson_2004! :)

Beautiful.

Thanks for the heads up everyone - I just got word from the team that this should be resolved now. Please let me know if you're seeing differently!

I didn’t know you were on Reddit lol

"When I joined Reddit, we didn't have any fancy-shmancy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole sub - and we had to share the rock! Buck up, boy, you're one very lucky Redditor!"

Thanks for pointing this out! We just noticed this too and are talking with the appropriate people to get it updated :)

As most of you can imagine, we're not planning to release in 2030.

\pretends to be shocked**

Welcome to the Halo community, /u/FootballKyle - I hope you enjoy yourself!

My brothers and I went to the Anaheim event on Sunday and we had a blast. This was our first experience going to a convention and it motivated us to visit future conventions like PAX or E3. I was lucky enough to catch an ODST plushie while we're waiting for the doors to open for us VIP folks. A lot of the attractions were awesome like VR, Pelican training, and the Ring experience, but what I enjoyed most is being surrounded by the awesome Halo community. People cosplaying as Spartans, chatting about Halo lore, people giving high fives for teaming up, and seeing people expressing their love for Halo in so many ways (I've complimented someone wearing a shirt of an ODST playing sax. I have to buy that shirt!).

I would like to thank 343 for organizing this event. It made me feel closer to the Halo community. I would also like to thank a certain 343 employee who I think bought us coffee hours before the doors open. We arrived at our hotel late because our flight was delayed. So we only had about 4 and a half hours of sleep. So we woke up, showered, got dressed up, and went downstairs to get some Starbucks to give us a caffeine boost for today. We lined up and saw who I think is a 343 employee. He was tall fella and we just guessed he is an employee (idk we just assumed most game developers are tall lol). When we made our order, the barista told us someone has covered for our drinks. My bros and I were just surprised and wondered who covered for us. Once we entered the convention center and collect our badges, we went upstairs and chilled for a bit before the doors opened and we saw that same guy walked by us, gave us a nod and a smile, and said, "Hope you guys have fun." My bros and I got all chuckled as we realized that he may have bought us coffee. We assumed he saw us holding our Halo 3 limited edition case at Starbucks and spotted for us for the drinks! I wished I knew his name so I can thank him for the coffee. He's this guy. He's the tallest one of the group with his hands raised high clapping. /u/ske7ch343 /u/Unyshek /u/GrimBrotherOne if this guy covered us for the coffee, tell him we would like give our sincerest thanks. That coffee gave us the energy to enjoy our experience at Outpost without feeling exhausted. Also we would thank him for being an awesome dude!

I'm glad to hear you had so much fun! That's exactly why we put on the event :)

I believe the man you're talking about is John Friend! He's the Head of Halo Consumer Products (the team that manages Halo merchandise, Halo: Fireteam Raven, and Halo: Outpost Discovery) and also leads the Xbox Official Gear. It certainly sounds like something he would do - he loves doing stuff like this - so I'll be sure to pass along your thanks!

Congratulations, /u/jaybird435!

It's certainly not an easy feat to achieve. I hope you enjoyed the ride!

Even though the online tickets may have sold out, sometimes we'll have tickets available for purchase at the door. No promises, but it doesn't hurt to try on the day of!

Hey man, just out of curiosity, do you have any updates on the issue/resolution? Thank you very much for your engagement with the community.

I'm hearing reports that it should be resolved now!

Please let me know if that isn't the case :)

Thanks for the heads up - we're looking into it!

Edit to add a reply I posted below: I'm hearing reports that it should be resolved now!

Please let me know if that isn't the case :)

I'm starting to get frustrated. If it's not ready then fine. But more open communication about it's progress etc is not an unreasonable thing to want at this point.

Hey /u/ArcAngel071 – I totally understand that you're excited and eager to play, I'm right there with you, but I am curious to hear what you'd like us to improve with our communications?

We've got our big monthly Developement Updates from Postums which take time to source, compile, and prepare for release (April, May, June, with July's coming later today). These come monthly because it takes time to source information from all parts of the team, as we don't want to impede their production efforts - so we ask them to provide whenever they can spare a few moments.

Then you have our biweekly Community Updates, which contains updates whenever possible. I'm aware that these have been light on MCC news recently, but that's mostly because we touch on what we have in the above Development Updates.

Plus, all members of the Co...
