I said this on Twitter but I really wanna reiterate it here: the confusion here is NOT to be blamed on the casters at all.
This is such a sensitive issue and they should have been better prepped by myself and other Riot comms folks. That’s on us.

I dont mind the tft missions but I do mind the obviously intrusive ones like get a 3* before 3-1 which causes you to hyper roll and could ruin the rest of the match, especially since the best hyper roll time was on 3-2
That’s fair. We’ve been getting a little more wild with TFT missions in part because it’s not a team game—even if you decide to go after a really weird mission, you aren’t screwing over somebody else in the game
To be fair, you guys are comparing a mode that was in ALPHA, that had NO REAL BALANCE DONE TO IT, to something that you guys showed a hell of a lot more support and work twards that was in beta-near release state on it's debut, that also is a completely different gameplay genre, that people who don't actually play the game can do.
That's like comparing a watermelon to a orange. I seriously think you guys didn't give it enough of a chance and are majorly to blame for why NB didn't do as well as it did, especially since you guys rushed it out and called it a alpha to begin with.
TFT’s development was the fastest-moving dev cycle I’ve ever seen at this company. Like, when we were only a few weeks away from shipping on PBE it still looked like trash and there was this bug that made it so Swain’s ult played non-stop. Endless crows screaming. It’s a MIRACLE that players actually thought TFT was in a decent state when we got it out the door.
Cactopus do you have any word on other rotating game modes as well? I miss going home after school and popping a few rounds of Ascension with friends :(

This conversation is tough because at the end of the day people who really like NB can’t be convinced that it didn’t deserve more love. Like, if you like it and want more of it, you aren’t wrong.
So when Rioters like me come out and say “here’s the facts, not that many people were playing it,” it doesn’t feel like it’s really addressing NB fans’ point. And that point is, Nexus Blitz really DID fill a niche and it met player needs that we’re currently failing to meet.
So, look, even if the conspiracy theory about missions is totally wrong (and it is), we get it—NB offered something special. And we’d be crazy not to try to get that special something right in the future (and hopefully in a way that’s appealing to more players). That’s all I’ll say for now.
