It's a legit question! To be honest we weren't sure how much we should lean into a full seasonal event with gameplay and narrative content together. Would it feel too disruptive to the SR experience? In the past we've focused on doing one or the other, usually not both together (things like the Bilgewater event, Odyssey etc being outliers). Given the response to this seasons gameplay changes, and the overall player interest in more immersive storytelling, you can expect us to continue to go bigger on cohesive seasonal experiences in the future.
Oh, sorry, that was meant to be Seraphine, Brightmoon and I just got them confused
(I kid, I kid...)
SAVAGE
tl;Dr PVE MODE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. ALSO ENJOY YOUR SABBATICAL, BRIGHTMOON!
Arena back with 8 teams of 2 (16 players total) to address team/fight variety
Prismatic items are supposed to be build-defining items
Items can be "gambled" for through anvils
PvE is
"bullet hell"bullet heaven survival esque. Both for individuals and friends. Will be released during the mid-year this year!Mastery is now based on individual performance instead of team performance, changing on 14.10.
Master titles are not split-specific
Lee Sin model is now different to be more consistent across skins alongside some tweaked visual/sound effects. Will be out on 14.9
Teemo is aimed for 14.20
Kog'Maw will be Split 1's Victorious skin. Sona will be for Split 2
Victorious border will be given to your skins at the end of the year if you get all 3. The border will be based on your highest rank for the year.
Thank you for the kind words! I am feeling very sentimental/emotional about this being my last dev update but I am very excited to take a nice vacation :)
I'm glad you're having a good time! I also find the game lately to be the most fun I've had since S4 when I started. (and yes I'm going to just ignore the whole 13 accounts thing...)
Whoever wrote this should get a raise. Really funny to read.
Phillip is one of a kind :)
I am still very sceptical about this and will not update the game for a few weeks to see how it will work out and what experience will other players have.
That sounds like a very reasonable take
With its device fingerprinting, Vanguard also gives us a renewed opportunity to sink teeth into boosting, smurfing, and account compromise. We'll be able to revoke rewards boosters didn't deserve, get smurfs to their proper rating faster, and maybe even invalidate "unfair" premades. Ranked statistics won't be as poisoned by scripters, facilitating easier balancing of high risk-and-reward champions, and games ruined by cheaters can eventually be "undone," returning LP to those affected.
This kinda huge
This is something we're very excited to leverage as it helps the overall ecosystem even beyond reduced cheating
Skarner rework is not mentioned. RIP
I was worried we talk about Skarner TOO much but in retrospect I was wrong. Skarner will be on PBE in a matter of weeks not months so hang in there
yo brightmoon are you back to the team? cause i remember couple months ago you said you leaving sadly.
I'm still here until we have the next EP trained up :)
I can hear Captain Flowers losing his mind in excitement half the continent away.
You've heard the truth!
Hey. This is something I’ve been trying to get noticed at every dev update for about a year now. As you might know, these days when champions get added to Wild Rift with a new base splash, the new splash is added on League PC too, before they're even released on WR. However, some champions got updated WR splashes before Riot started doing that, namely Leona, Soraka and Nautilus, and it would be great if now those splashes were added too. Leona especially really needs it, cause she has the oldest base splash in the entire game.
You mentioned porting WR splashes on a dev update once, but I guess it was just about the unreleased ones for future champions, cause it hasn’t happened with any splashes that were actually released on WR first. There's at lot of splashes for skins that match the PC versions and could be ported, but even if not I think it would be only fair to port the other base ones (or at least Leona if Riot thinks the others are fine 🥲).
We'll be taking another look at WR and LoR content that makes sense for League but I don't have a timeline for that yet
And what about playing on Linux with WINE? Will there be any option for us?
We'll get some more info about Linux for you all soon, it's not something i know the answer to off the top of my head and I want to make sure I talk with the team and get you the right info.
Hey Riot Brightmoon I have a question well on the season video you can see the steam icon. Is this an announcement that league of legends will appear there? u/RiotBrightmoon
Sorry, nothing to report there I don't think that icon was mean to refer to steam
u/RiotMeddler what do the Vanguard changes mean for the minority of the Mac players? From my understanding it's incompatible with Mac systems.
Vanguard will not be required for Mac. The Mac ecosystem and OS is substantially different in ways that make us take a different approach for that system.
Great video, thank you for the amazing effort. Would you be able to expand on what Vanguard means for macos players now that it's being used for league as well?

hey folks - I know this video was longer than normal (23 min+!) but there's a ton we have in store in 2024. We'll be hanging around to answer your questions throughout today on this thread!
SHYVANA UPDATE CONFIRMED

BOTTOM TEXT
Confirmed!!! Y'all have been so patient, thank you for keeping hope alive
Arena is now a 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2 mode LOL
Honestly super cool update to the mode. Very excited to see it back!
The team is continuing to improve and refine Arena and we're excited for you to give it another go! I know the question remains WHEN WILL ARENA BE PERMANENT .... and the answer is.... we don't know yet. We need to get it into a state where it maintains a strong level of engagement but I'm feeling really excited about this next iteration and we'll see if you all like it
Unrelated to the statement but shoutsout to Brightmoon. Seems like a really nice guy, the guy who becomes EP for League's got some shoes to fill.
That's kind of you to say - I love this game and this community and will still be around and cheering you all on. I look forward to introducing you all to the next EP soon!
if us big spenders rolling it is such a small group to not change it's exclusivity (from article), why are you delaying the loot rollout at all? This seems to set a bad precedent imo
We think that will make it less rare, initially, which will make it less appealing for those who are seeking rarity.
