Looks fantastic!!!

(Hi Marty!)

Yeah I also had never played with a Rioter and have been playing since Season 2. Then in my first few weeks as a Rioter I got one on my team.

And since then I've been matched against coworkers. I like to shit talk them in slack as the game happens.

LOL hey Erika. If the day comes where I perform WELL against another Rioter maybe then I can try this Slack idea ;)

Been playing since Caitlyn's release, never played with a Rioter.

Then in 2019, became a Rioter. So uh that's how I fixed that problem I guess!

whoa this is a wild post to see. I've been playing since Caitlyn's release, and watching the League discussion evolve over time, I remember feeling really thrown off when I eventually started seeing posts like "man I miss Season 3, it was the best season" etc.... wait DURING that season I only saw complaining like every other time!!! huh???

Anyway thank you for the positive post!!

TL;DR: I made a Google Spreadsheet that allows you to pick the characters you play, and generates tables that display how those champions synergize with different team composition types (and even suggests bans that are strong against those team compositions ranked in tier list order)!

Hey guys!

Over the past few months, my friends and I have been assembling to **Actually Improve at League of Legends******TM and play some scary ranked games together.

Recently, one of them decided to put together a Google Sheets file that we could all edit together, with the intention that we would write down which characters we feel proficient at, and try to maybe collaborate on team composition ideas.

Sure, there's a million better tools and a million other resources, but I work in Google Sheets a lot at my new job and had a lot of ideas...So a week and many many google searches and lots of trial-and-error later, I've put together this document.

Behold!

The main tab: \"Champ Competency Sheet\"

above and beyond editing. great job

???? The fuck is cringe about it?

What do you think cringe even means? That whole video flowed nicely. I didnt even notice the speed ups and slowdown till after the fact.

I think he means cringe as in "this guy thinks he's so cool that's why he slowed it down" but I agree with you it 100% helped the flow and those slowdown moments were more hilarious than any like "cringe" self aggrandizing "I'm so awesome" etc

It gives off the impression of a "WoW LoOk At ME!1!" vibe. If the play is good, players will appreciate it. You gotta be really easily impressed if you see a slowmod clip in a vacuum and believe it looks incredible.

u/MartyMcNinja understands the perspective I'm viewing it from, even if he doesn't share it.

I think another reason I disagree tbh is just the fact that in order for the clip to work in context you have to see this whooooole long thing which makes perfect sense to speed up. And then when you're sped up, you miss those instant moments where he barely got out. So either the option is make it normal speed for just those moments, which might feel a bit jarring, or lean all the way into it and slow it down and hopefully get that funny / awesome moment. iMO that totally works.

I think what you said about speeding up of the clip for sake of saving people time is totally fair ~ never actually crossed my mind as a potential reason.

However the exaggerated slow mo aspect of it really does make me crease when it's the creator of the clip who is editing it to make his play more than it is. Idk, perhaps I'm being unreasonable, but when someone feels the need to make their own clip (in the context of lol) more "awesome," then it probably wasn't really - especially if the clip in question has nothing particularly impressive within it, that may have required slowing down to actually grasp what was going on (e.g a well executed shy combo, or another mechanically intensive play). We all saw Udyr sidestep Rakan W, incredible stuff.

Have you considered it might be more of a "oh my gosh I just barely got out" vibe as opposed to a "look at how sick I am" thing?

I started in December 2010, when I first tried the game my friends recommended I try Warwick since I was looking for a melee fighter. I ended up completely avoiding him for so long cuz he seemed dopey until the point that when they did the full VGU, I figured I'd give it a shot. and of course now he's great.

Others I've managed to never, ever play are old Quinn (never got to be the bird), old irelia, old poppy, old Galio, etc.

I've been a fan of pretty much every VGU/rework tbh

This is neat, but I really hope this doesn't catch on and it should be a bannable offence imo. Calling it for what it is, griefing.

How do you figure?

Taylor1350

It doesn't matter if he is winning enough. If he just played normally in the same games on one account he'd have a near 100% win rate.

Just because he's smurfing doesn't make it okay. Nobody wants this on their team. It's similar to the whole smite support singed in a way. Just because he has a decent win rate doesn't make it okay.

I bet his yuumi account has an extremely high report rate. His playstyle is basically putting his team into a 4v5 with a strong ADC because the yuumi is basically a stat bot + heals.

His yumi never even gets the first support item upgrade because he basically just afks on that account once he's attached aside from pressing heal.

Not caught up on support smite Singed. Is that just someone who ran a suboptimal loadout but was still trying to win despite annoying people for not doing something safer / more traditional?

Taylor1350

He queued for support, then just played proxy / counterjungling singed whilst abandoning his adc to 1v2 botlane.

He had a decent winrate in high elo doing it because he basically fucked over the enemy jungler and thus had success with it.

Riot eventually banned him and put out a big statement on their philosophy regarding off meta stuff.

They basicaly said that just because it was successful doesn't mean it's okay, it made the game completely miserable for his ADC who should expect to have a support of some sort. The used the line, "Just because you want to play support smite singed, doesn't mean your team wants you to play support smite singed"

The same shit happened to that Nubrac kid when he played roaming teemo support.

Interesting. So then that same logic may apply here i.e. "just because you want to duo bot with yourself, doesn't mean your team wants to have a support that is being played by the adc's feet"

I just miss wriggles lantern on lee sin!!! :'(

I wanted to disagree, but I main Yasuo and yellow is legitimately my favorite color. Uh oh.

It's too late for you but you can still help others.

Muted.

....

I'm sorry I couldn't control it

Hey, since you're a Yasuo main. How would you feel about Yasuo's windwall becoming more like Braums? I always find it weird that the shielding champion has a weaker shield mechanic then the 1v9 samurai. I know it has a 26 second cooldown for most of the game, but Yasuo has so many mechanics that can decide when fights start that I still feel like it maybe is too rewarding.

In all honesty I would be 100% open to seeing it maybe have like a healthbar & be destructible or something, or maybe do reduced damage like Braum's ult but it's hard to say how well that would actually work in practice.

His passive is also something that if they reworked it down the line i'd be very open to because IMO it's just not that interesting

MuchPretzel

Yeah. I feel like Yasuo has a lot of weirdly defensive parts in his kit, namely his passive and W. It's like Tryndamere where their kit isn't super congruent with their intended design.

I don't agree entirely with that, my understanding is that Yasuo was designed with this idea of "strike, parry, dash" playstyle in mind and given low base HP to compensate. His passive shield ends up somewhat being a balancing mechanism to keep him from getting totally rekt in certain match-ups and be able to deal with trades in lane, but I still feel it could be a bit more interesting than "walk around til it charges up" (I do enjoy it on his ult tho?)

Same with his Windwall, just needs some way to deal with trade / poke since he doesn't have healing or survivability (outside the mostly random-feeling passive) built into his kit.

Still like I said I'd be super open to trying out some changes to make it feel less frustrating to deal with.

No I agree. He should do some combination of "strike, parry, dash." Except his W is not a parry. It is a shield. A parry would mean that it's a some kind of well timed counter, not an ultimate blocking wall that eventually gets a lane wide and lasts for 4 seconds no matter the rank. I feel like his 0.5 second cooldown targeted dash should be enough to deal with projectiles if you want him to be super high skill ceiling. TBH, I think his W should work more like Irelia's W where it's an actual parry but at this point the windwall is too iconic.

I also agree with your thoughts on his passive. The free stats and shield is such a weird combo that I feel like CertainT just forgot to make a passive until the last minute. The double crit rate frankly would be enough, just give him some better base health.

Maybe Fiora's riposte is a closer comparison than Irelia's W, which is another variation on the theme of parrying.

That being said I personally feel going with the Windwall as the "wind magic" interpretation of that idea was a good call that is also distinctly different from Irelia or Fiora. I don't feel that fundamentally changing that identity is necessarily the correct way forward, however I am super open to some ways to adjust it to feel more fair (shorter duration and shorter CD? Destructible? Has a cost like 50% flow? Having a start-up animation delay would severly hurt how the move is used but maybe something like a cost could at least be a fair warning?)

Why yellow? I don't get the appeal of that colour

Funny how our tastes work?

I just really like it idk! It's vibrant and weird and I just think it's a great color. I always go for yellow alt costumes for every character in every game I play
