You'll note the changes now only effect PvP which is to specifically fix an issue where 1 player may attack the other without the possibility of retaliation despite looking like retaliation can occur.
What about for PVM? I was mostly concerned about the impact it has on safe spotting!
I'm going to guess you may not have read the news post today. Have a read over this section and your worries will be gone.
This week the beta continues but with a new version of the line-of-sight algorithm. Now, when a player is not interacting with another player, the existing live algorithm is used, meaning the behaviour in PvM situations will not change. When interacting with other players, the new algorithm will be used. This will prevent one-way safe spots in PVP.
I wouldn’t want the artwork to be voted on
Mate, when has this community ever done anything stupid or inappropriate? We are a classy, Christian subreddit!
I'm currently pressing x to doubt.
Hi wolf, you think it would be possible for to the Q&A stream to be focused on mostly Q&A. Today's had 30 minutes of whatever, 10 minutes of answering questions, and 20 minutes for the quiz.
Would it be possible to either scrap the quiz idea or increase the time for q&a. Also the way y'all adress questions needs to change. Spending 5-7 minutes on one question is way too long for the 1 hour time allowance the community has with you lovely people. You guys need to say yes or no, nothing more. If something requires a little bit more pizzaz go for it. But, recently every question is getting way too much time in the spotlight.
Frankly you’ll notice the questions today were all previously answered par 1/2. It’s difficult after doing this nearly 6 years for interesting questions we’re capable of answering - hence the new padding.
We will be contacting the 11th place contestant and having them claim the prize they should have won. We apologise for this.
Are you certain that osrs_wiki is actually affiliated with the wiki, beyond the username? Could be someone unrelated that's trolling.
They contacted us and apologised
Why the 11th specifically?
As we are not giving the 1st place their prize so the next person to take it out of the 10 spots is the 11th
RS exceeds the enjoyment that you'd find with a gf, requires very little maintenance and effort too.
It definitely does exceed the enjoyment I'd find with a gf.
I didn't choose the single life, the single life chose me. So I chose Old School RuneScape.
Is there any way to get it without finishing the quest or is it just one of those "just to be sure" checks?
Just to be sure.
Huh, that's funny... that's because the item never used to check for the quest completion and we added that fix/check in recently which caused this issue. Thanks for letting us know :)
Fixed for this Thursday, ya darn freeloaders!*
*This is a joke. I honestly love you all for everything you allow us to do and wholly can't explain the excitement I have coming into work every day to work on the game I grew up with and love to deliver the best game experience I can for you all <3

Couple of things here:
Firstly, it was never canceled. I just stopped working on it in my spare time.
The Serp helm was nerfed regardless of this quest being made by myself. We returned its strength but not its venom effect as that's what we disliked.
There isn't a gay Fremennik in this quest. Sorry to disappoint.
Would the NPC safespots breaking be an intended change, or unintended change and instead fixed.
As you may assume, unintended and to be reverted.
Potentially is a strong word, here!
To clarify, our desired outcome is that nothing SHOULD change with the exception of PvP combat and the scenario 1 person can fight without being able to fight back.
That's why we've opened up beta worlds specifically with these changes for you all to browse on as we expect you to come across some things in the main game world we may not have.
Currently in the live game the line of attack between two points is not symmetrical. What this beta does is make that symmetrical. The place where it will effect is PvP where players are able to stand in specific spots in relation to their opponent and not be able to attack back.
Read moreAlready seen, though thank you! this is why we do betas :)
Could you or someone explain these line-of-sight changes in more detail? What does it mean exactly? Will we be able to see more/click further, ect, ect. Like what can we expect it to do?
Maybe even some screenshots of it in action vs not in action for a clear indicator?
Theoretically, we would desire it to do nothing with existing interactions other than fix the issue where in some player vs player scenarios some people are able to attack while others can't.
It's very possible, however, that some safe spots may have broke in the wider game - or weird interactions like during MM2 and the Sorcerer's garden may have broke etc.
Just to clarify that these changes are only on the beta worlds right now, so if I wanted to do MM2 or level thieving right now all the current strategies still work?
All that means is I really need to finish MM2.
Yes, they're only activated in beta worlds.
