It may not add anything in terms of gameplay, I really love what this does for making the world believable. Really good suggestion

We did this for a bit! https://runescape.wiki/w/Update:The_State_of_Play_(February_2008))

I was on Web Content at the time and put it together. I remember there was frustration from players that things like Mobilising Armies weren't progressing much week-on-week, as development was looooong in some instances.

He’s not so bad, not so bad at all

what are you doing regarding gwd3 then? I thought you were the lead for rs3 so you were doing the narrative?

Lead covers all aspects of design, including narrative. I’m setting goals for the team, supervising the design, that sort of stuff. Not as important as the dev team working on it, I can tell you!

Lopendebank3

Are you in charge of the lore there?

No, that’s my boy Mod Jack

You had the three biggest cheeses on RuneScape, so I didn’t think you needed my own personal brand of cheese as well! I’m mostly working hard on Elder God Wars Dungeon, among others. Don’t worry - you can’t get rid of me that easily

This is lovely. Truly bravo.

I do imagine he’s a Thanos fan

Aw wow, I love these.

Don’t give them any ideas! Jagex will only go and do it!

Credit to the video team who achieved this from home, too. Game capture away from the office isn’t easy!

Glad you liked it! This is way up there with the NXT trailer for really making me want to login and play.

I love it! Gives me some Macho King Randy Savage vibes

Hi guys,

Over the past couple of days, there’s been a lot of heated discussion about the Beyond the Arc promotion, which has understandably opened up conversations about microtransactions in general. We haven’t been ignoring these conversations: you can be sure that we’re all reading them, and are deep in our own discussions about what it might mean for the future.

It’s probably worth noting what the main criticisms are:

  • Beyond the Arc feels like we are putting an Arc reward behind a paywall. That’s largely because the Arc rewards are – as we’re aware – underwhelming
  • A combat and Invention-related reward feels like a game content update, not a reward from a Treasure Hunter promotion.
  • The outfit can’t be gained using daily keys. You need additional keys to complete the outfit
  • The frequency of Treasure Hunter promotions feels constant right now

It’s also worth keeping in mind that, when it comes to microtransactions, they are vit...

Hey all,

I thought I would drop in and talk about why I fell in love with the idea of Bank Bidders, and what – in reality – it will probably end up looking like.

I love Bank Bidders because of the moments it will create. A player will have won a ‘bank’ - the prospects look good, everything is pointing to it being full of valuable goods – and they begin to open it. Everyone is watching, they’re eager to find out what the player has won, and it turns out to be…a bronze pickaxe.

Equally, it could be an unassuming account with shedloads of great stuff! There’s the potential for wonderful stories.

I love Bank Bidders because it is fun, it’s cheeky and a little bit risky. It’s not your run of the mill event. And it’s important to note that it is an event, with all that entails: it will be something temporary, like The Drop or September Raffles. It will be a shot in the arm of fun, that’s worth logging in for.

I also love Bank Bidders because it highlights, on a very large platform, ...

While we work on the RuneScape Survey system, we are interested in getting some polls out on the current poll system. Let's get Unfinished Business moving quickly.

I am looking for ideas for polls from you. Ideally they would be impactful and stuff we could start work on now, so not absolutely huge (a new quest or raid won't quite cut it).

Things like the following: - Removing Mobilising Armies - Reducing the Castle Wars requirement on Comp - Reducing game worlds

Hey all,

Now that the Runefest stage line-ups have been revealed, we can officially talk about the ‘Mythbusters’ session: an hour where you throw your myths, assumptions and misconceptions at us, and we tell you if they are true or false.

For this to really work, we need your help: we want you to submit your myths for busting. They might be aimed at a specific JMod on Old School or RuneScape, even our CEO; they might be aimed at all JMods; they might be about the games or the whole studio. We want you to feel welcome to throw assumptions at us, no matter how silly or serious.

Post them here or at the following link, and there is every chance that they will get chosen to be read out and answered at Runefest and live on stream. We will include player names, unless you state that you don't want them included.

Thanks in advance, and keep it clean(ish).

Can Played Owned Nerds be named Player Owned....Researchers? Archaeologists? It doesn't jive with the other new npc names at all

Don't worry, that's not the official name. They are researchers. It was just me trying to be funny!

I'm normally the last person to get mad. I hate this whole 'hating RuneScape and jagex and every new update' thing that the community always does. But on what planet does mod osborne think it's acceptable to drink TEA through a STRAW. He needs to explain himself.

It’s the original bubble tea!
