Sett can’t beat the shit out of you without getting closer
They actually did it
I had to cut, "You thought it was Seth, but it was me Sett!" from it because it no longer made sense after a big edit pass. D:

the weeb factor came in pretty hard, so well done to them
Ty lol. It's /u/witcheslovecats for Whatacoolwitch also. <3
Yea so regarding positioning disruption doesn't the above listed champions plus Taliyah, Poppy, Yasuo, Pantheon, Braum, Nami etc. do the same thing?
Like don't take my comment as negative, i am interested in knowing exactly what?
Like for Yummi, it was said no enchanter was there which could go inside a fight
Senna is like a mm sp
Aphelios is jack of all trades mmSo what's it about Sett besides his looks
So I can't speak for the team aside from the things they said. But maybe the team can answer your questions better. The way it was said to me is that Sett actually uses the front line to attack the back line. So he wants you to pick a tank into him that he can use to actually kill the champions they're supposed to protect.
really well written article. The memes + the actual useful info makes for a good read
Thank you! I don't watch anime so I had to tag in /u/shioshoujo and Whatacoolwitch to help weeb it up.
What is his purpose in League?
His ultimate or abilities fill which gap that was missing?Lee, Vi, Azir, Camille, Jarvan can all separate an enemy from his team. So what is unique about him and when should he be picked?
Hey, so if you read the article I talk about his unique AA cadence and the way he disrupts standard teamfight positioning.
From looking like a bum in his splash art to chiseled AF
WHAT? He's a hunk in his splash!
Holy shit he is GOOD at his job!
Big time agree! Also a genuinely lovely person! Seeing him around campus is one of my highlights! :D
If you were involved in doing that, I have no words to thank you!
He's the concept artist responsible for Sylas (and Aphelios and Mordekaiser rework, among other things).

Jeans daddy strikes again. UwU
I know that monster champions aren't as popular as humanoid champions.
I miss BIG champions. I like the Malphite size increase thing they have going on. I was really sad when they reduced Sion's model size by 5% back in the day.
Sett is one of the physically largest champions we've made in a while. L O R G B O I
Holy. Sylas is SHREDDED. /u/kindlejack doing the lord's work with his champion designs.
If I mail it to Riot HQ and write /u/Cashmiir on it, will you get it?
lmao I don't know, actually. Our summoner names are available on our internal registry.
Do it. You won't.
then make it happen OR he'll get you a dio body pillow
Honestly, this is a threat that I'll have to listen to.
I don't suppose you know how Settrigh should be pronounced proper?
When I was in the Insights meeting with the team O'Bryan pronounced it as Sett-rick, like Cedric but Sett. But I might be misremembering/wrong.
make it happen and ill get you a dio body pillow
lmao I hate anime
Not quite related, but due to his VA being DIO is there a way to change his voice to japanese (but just sett's)?
I'm sure every weeb at Riot wants to know the answer to that question
Despite him beating a dude the fuck up that ending made this surprisingly wholesome. Sett--or well Settrigh I suppose only keeps reminding us how much he loves his mom. Making sure to leave her some cash and kiss her good night like a good son. Let's just hope she doesn't ask to visit the Orphanage or to take her to the job one day.
Like I said before: Sett is one simple ass dude and that's easily his strongest point. No convoluted story involving bunch of other characters(yet): Just him being the boss of an arena, making money, beating people's asses, and taking care of his mom. A good character overall.
You thought it was Sett, but it was me, Settrigh!
I read that they only had 4 months, so it's understandable. Thanks for listening and also for being communicative with that write-up into the design process! Team has done a great job.
Overall there was longer, but the art team had a limited time, yeah. They absolutely crushed it. They're so talented!
I'm very pleased with how the Ocean Rift turned out. I also have seen a lot of commentary from others who find it relaxing and enjoyable. I just wish the other elements would have such an aesthetic effect. I really hope Riot continues to add to the other types to make them more pronounced. I'm convinced this could make a profound difference in how it feels to play the game for the better, just because it adds something harmlessly entertaining to look forward to with each random terrain event. Aesthetic changes can be so abstract yet deliver meaningfully stimulating vibes.
As ideas, I would like to see the cloud Rift with a bit of fog over impassable terrain, where it's less of an issue with confounding visibility, and then add baby drakes onto some spots in the map, either peeking out of brush or an addition onto impassable terrain. Maybe even have a flock on occasion fly between parts of the map, although that might be too excessive.
I would like the infernal rift to char more of the terrain a darker gray, and maybe recede some of the water a bit, or if that's too impactful to the gameplay then at least scorch the grassy areas of the map to barren terrain, or remodel the trees as being without leaves, like those wooden skeletons after a fire.
I'd like the mountain rift to crack the terrain across the map, small rivulets of split ground streaking across the map. Maybe add some wildlife like lizards sticking their heads out of one of these crevasses. You could even redesign some of the impassable terrain away from trees and into carved statues or else simply jagged pillars of rock jutting out inbetween the trees.
Another idea is to modify the art of the jungle camps depending on the element: golems gain a brown gravel coating them as extra padding on the earth rift, chickens have larger wings and white-tipped feathers on cloud rift, wolves gain streaks of fire down their backs on infernal rift, and momma Gromp adds baby tadpoles around its feet on ocean rift. Just things to bring in some more flair and make the experience of each Rift come alive.
The team actually talked about elemental critters a lot! With the timeline they were under it wasn't feasible for the initial launch, but they spoke about adding some more flavor later!
