Please stop with the stupid daily threads such as landing/weapon threads and just stick with the daily discussion threads. Stop trying to stifle justified criticism. Perhaps if the devs were even semi active we wouldn’t need to criticise.

I made a comment on a daily thread around season 5 launch, and I still get flaming direct messages and DMs angry about pathfinder daily. I don't even work on Legends!

EDIT: thanks for the kind words! I meant this comment to be lighthearted, I think it didn't come across too well for that sorry. I love you guys! I've worked on other large games and honestly the Apex community isn't super toxic imo compared to many others. People get excited and passionate and there's occasional jerks but y'all are great <3 :)

hello guys, just was wondering, does anyone else have like bad days, no matter what game they play? 2 days ago i was doing fairly well in apex and bf1 and then yesterday it was like i was playing for the very first time again and i couldn’t aim for shit

No worries - FYI I don't think the Havoc recoil changes were made, or they aren't what was intended. It's easier to control than before, or same at the absolute worst.

Love all the other stuff though, great great patch though so thank you.

These changes always take a bit of time to sink in. Recoil was the main buff the Havoc got in S4, and everyone was complaining that it wasn't enough and the havoc sucked for quite a while before they realized it was good! I'm definitely keeping my closest eye on the Havoc, but we have to give these things a little bit of time to settle. The added recoil to the first couple of shots should cause the recoil to bounce off of the target right as the burst begins, and the shooter will have to re-acquire. This hopefully gives the receiving player an extra shot or two of reaction time before they start getting fully lasered, which I think actually could be pretty impactful. Definitely gonna keep a close watch.

No, sorry! No halfway charges -- it requires that you have 2 available to begin the charge.

We missed something in these patch notes sorry! The Sentinel now requires 2 shield cells to use the charge ability, instead of 1 shield battery.

I wonder if Game Designers doodle when they're not working in the office. Would love to see past ideas that were not considered in games, if that's allowed anyway.

Some designers are more artistically inclined than others, some even come from a professional art background! I do a tiny bit of 3d art stuff, but I'm not very good. My ideas are usually more about gameplay and game rules. I don't push the visuals too much because I trust in our amazing art teams to do that much better than I ever could!

It's not really a bug, although it is inconsistent with other ARs. I would like the Scout to be in a "marksman weapon" classification or something, but then it'd be the only one and that's not really great, so for now it'll just have some inconsistencies with typical AR stats. The scout is still supposed to have some tradeoffs considering its long range, and it it really didn't need a buff to be stronger in gunfights, so we didn't update it to have faster ADS movespeed. Intentional, but admittedly inconsistent. Sorry!

How much damage did they do before?

Depends on the weapon!

OK SO. Weapons in Apex have a recoil pattern, or a sequence of recoil offsets they will go through as the weapon is fired. After the weapon is not fired for a time, the position (or index) in the pattern will decay back down towards the beginning. How quickly it decays back down and how long you have to wait without firing before it decays is different depending on the weapon. With the LSTAR, I wanted to try an idea. The recoil pattern has more horizontal recoil early on in the pattern, then it straightens out at the end. The recoil pattern index decays much slower than other weapons, with the idea being that if you are feathering the trigger while at high heat, you can actually keep the LSTAR in the part of the pattern that has low recoil! This was to encourage sustained shooting with breaks in between to let it cool off slightly without letting it overheat, because that's a fun gameplay thing to do and has some room for mastery.
