Path of Exile Dev Tracker

Uri from Overwolf emailed me earlier this year to ask my thoughts on whether we'd be okay with a potential third-party program. I replied with

"Generally we ban users who run programs that interact with the game client directly (overlays, etc). They're allowed to run/create third party programs that can operate without the game client running, for example ones that process logs from the hard drive. It sounds to me like what is being proposed here would not be allowed, unfortunately."

He replied clarifying some features of the program. My reply was:

I figured it'd be useful to explain some key reasons why we don't encourage people to download external tools:

  • Downloaded tools run on the user's machine and can steal Path of Exile passwords or install malware. While I understand that your tool probably doesn't do this, there's nothing to stop that being the case (for example if your build machines were compromised). We cannot encourage a user to run a program developed by a third pa...

That doesn't fit his narrative of always complaining about free rewards tho...

One of the tricky things about challenge rewards is that tastes aren't universal so we do always aim for something that we hope the greatest number of people will enjoy. It's understandable that some people have negative feedback, it's the nature of things. We don't mind that too much. What I do mind is the amount of times people say "GGG suck because they did this and I'm mad about it!" when that thing didn't happen. Constructive feedback about real events whether people enjoyed them or not is always welcome.

This is the second time in three years that footprints have been a challenge reward. It's definitely not 'always'.

The Harvest League introduces 40 new challenges. Upon completing them you will earn exclusive microtransaction rewards, such as the Harvest Footprints, Harvest Cloak and Harvest Portal (at 12, 24 and 36 challenges respectively). Completing challenges also grants you pieces of the Harvest Totem Pole Hideout decoration.
You'll be able to check out the full list of challenges to complete for these rewards when Path of Exile: Harvest launches on PC on June 19th! Read more

My question is more aimed at what happens in game logic when Bringer is unusable due to stat insufficiency, re-enabling the chest, which re-enables Bringer, which disables the chest and itself, which re-enables the chest etc. Is it a feedback loop, and if so how quickly does it flip?

My question is more aimed at what happens in game logic when Bringer is unusable due to stat insufficiency, re-enabling the chest

That doesn't happen. Bringer of Rain doesn't grant you a stat that disables the chest slot like a normal, sane item, it has a stat with special handling in the disable scan code, such that it will continue to disable the chest slot as long as Bringer is in the helm slot, even if it is itself disabled.

I had fun today. Thank you ❤️

What about Barrage? Is each projectile truly a separate attack?

After a short preparation time, you attack repeatedly with a ranged weapon

If so, does Barrage Support have the same behavior? Description doesn't mention multiple attacks, just "Supported Skills Fire Projectiles sequentially".

Barrage is multiple projectile firings from one attack - that description is incorrect and I have notes somewhere to change it at some point, but it's not high priority.

I'm slightly confused about the wording and the emphasis on using other skills to proc Earthshatter spikes. If I attack with Earthshatter and then attack with Earthshatter again do the spikes from my first attack pop?

Earthquake's fissures can't trigger the spike explosion, but explosions from other Earthshatter spikes can.

Bex I'm afraid. Can you confirm PH is dead?
