If VP is earned for each win, how is it fair that a team I beat in the first round can win their two consolation rounds and earn 400 VP but after I lose my second round I am done for the night and only come out with 200 VP?

I feel like there should be a 3rd place consolation match for the 2 teams that lose round 2 in the winners bracket.

Has this point been addressed anywhere already?
