I’ve been a pretty depressed person my entire life, and I’ve come to realize over the past few years that League is the only thing I’m passionate about and that makes me happy (even when my team is feeding :P) . Despite depression, anxiety, and overall motivation issues, I truly do have a work ethic and standard of excellence far higher than anybody else I’ve ever met. That translates to my current job in which I manage a medical office and into my college classes (of which I take at night due having to work full time). I’m just about to the point of giving up (and anybody who’s suffered from depression and anxiety knows what I mean by that), but everybody I’ve spoken to (some are legitimate medical professionals, some are just individuals who’s opinions I value highly) regarding trying to fix these psychological issues has told me to simply chase my passion in order to live a fulfilled life. Well, long ago, my passion was of course to be a LoL pro, but as I’ve played since season 1 and am still gold, we all know that isn’t happening. I write this in an attempt to see if there are ANY, and I repeat, ANY sort of jobs in the League scene. I will scrub the toilets for the lowest ranked challenger team. I will clean an entire teams house. I will mow their yard. Anything. I just want to get into the LoL scene, because I know I have the work ethic and tenacity to work my way up the ladder into a better position. If anybody has suggestions, or would even like to see a resume, I would love a response.
Check out what some of the teams are hiring for. You may be surprised at the range of jobs that are open. C9 for example regularly posts open positions on linkedin- ranging from facilities staff, accounting, management to software engineering. Also as HansAxel said, Riot is always hiring and being a dedicated LoL player is definitely something that will benefit you during that process.
Regarding the depression, just know that climbing out of it is always possible and you are not alone. I was in a similar place in my life a number of years ago and found this thread which led to a lot of positive change.
