Great segment but I wish Hai was given more time to ask follow-up questions; it felt like he was being rushed through the interview so he didn't have time to do any kind of deeper analysis or probe further, he just had to say "ok" and move on to the next thing.

I assume this was a live segment on the broadcast? If yes, you’ll always be a bit limited on time, as you have more content, breaks + the game coming up. In addition, more than four minutes at one location with limited camera angles is a long time for a segment IMO, obviously subjective.

If this was live (didnt catch it, only saw the video online), I would assume they just had a set time for the segment, let’s say four minutes. Something they could have done was to have less replays, and hence time for more follow up question. At the same time, you would have had less movement on the screen, so like, the replay would have ran out. What you get with more replays is more action on the screen, and a chance to explore more aspects of the game.

I overall really liked the segment, think Hai is great with these.

It was live and a post-game interview so I understand that they’re rushed for time. I’d just rather see this segment somewhere else, where it has more room to breathe

I don't work with the LCS, so can't say what the logistics are here.

But generally, segments like these aren't easy to plan and execute on outside of game days. Depends a lot on player availability and crew.

And on game days your crew is working on the show, so it's harder to record this on the side. Plus, the player obviously has a schedule to follow with maybe other interviews, team commitments, etc.

So there are definitely some logistical challenges. Making it a part of your broadcast, doing it live and then upload to social is definitely easier.

I can confirm that both a) Emily has taken fairly large creative license from LEC's fantastic Pop Quiz and b) we have said/suggested/pitched and begged for the name Lightning Rand every week since it has started.
