Its probably because ive never played a game like this but i cannot get used to the controls at all, maybe add button remapping?

That is because it is not space flight game!Indeed, it is more like a 6DOF shooter in Space. You and others might be used to a different button layout and we will add button remapping soon. Looking forward to hear your opinion on that when you have to navigate through narrow spaces like inside hollow asteroids and inside of space stations. /Michael
