I am fairly new and plaing on my own low collaboration world with a couple of friends.

With my blast furnaces I am now creating polluted water. So I thought to myself, I'd build a big pond out of stone to contain it. But while the polluted water is pouring and pouring in there, it is not building up at all. Is this normal? Am I doing it wrong?
