Anno 1800 Dev Tracker

Hey all.

There are currently some issues with the Anno 2070 (and some other games') servers, we've been told, which result in the online functionalities not being available all the time.

It's being investigated by the responsible teams but last I heard there's no ETA yet on a resolution - sorry :/

We did a livestream today! You can watch the VOD here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2433543931

Have seen one vaguely correct guess on Discord so far. There might actually be hints on another image of we showed.

Oh my god, it's happening! Love seeing this mammoth project on the road to release!

Hey, just letting you all know that the issue is still under investigation by the sys admins to check for the root cause. That's all I have right now, but hope to have updates soon.

I didn't forget to add more projects to the portfolio ;) In fact I slowly transitioned over to Anno 117 after Eden Burning to do the first early tests and research - the results of which you can partially see in the DevBlog. But we were very far away from a working pipeline or production readiness at that point. The rest of the level art team continued with the Anno 1800 postlaunch content.

They have not.

Should be fixed now, sorry for the inconveniences.

Should be fixed. The team is investigating potential causes to avoid future problems.

Thank you for the new reports, the issue has again been forwarded. Sorry for the inconveniences :(

That's correct, reveal of the game was in June last year.

However, for context: full on development (i.e. game leaving concept phase and launching actual production) started in 2023.

Not delayed! It was always planned for May

1602 for me as well: getting bankrupt cause of buying too many tools and not understanding all game mechanics as a kid - good memories

Servers should be back up, let us know if you're still encountering problems.

It's currently being investigated.

I don't know, but we'll have a look tomorrow and hopefully get them back running again soon.

Thank you for reporting the issue.

Have not, personally.

If we get everyone's souls, maybe we can do a 4D Anno

Very happy to hear you're enjoying these blogs!

They take some time to put together, with input from different departments and dedicated visuals to explain things (like in these recent blogs), so, we're glad they're so well-received.

Not quite sure what you mean with the "Starting Provinces" part.

On the contrary, Anno 117: Pax Romana gives you more choice compared to Anno 1800 since you can choose to start in either province when starting a sandbox game.

The campaign, as in Anno 1800, might occasionally restrict you in some regards for narrative reasons, but that's a different story (hah, story!).

It's indeed lavender! If you close your eyes, you can smell it through the screen.
