It's funny, cause all the ships I've been on.
The small ones and large deck ones, I have always laughed at how equipment is positioned. Cause you KNOW that engineers don't think about the Sailors that have to work on them.
We had this one piece of equipment in a pump room that the access for its gears faced a bulkhead... so you literally couldn't work on the equipment.... talk about tight fits...

I remember one time, in order to work on my CIWS mount, we had to literally open up the system the way it was, um, not meant to be opened.... it got fixed, but reassembly was not particularly fun....
