There's no limit to pings if you ping an item like the spike or a gun. This spams the chat, creates constant voice lines, and, in extreme cases such as the video below, brings a computer that normally holds 100+ fps down to 30 fps.

We've also done some work to make pinging significantly less of a performance drop as well.
