Hello! Thank you for the write up!

The crashing should be fixed tomorrow morning!

Some of these other bugs we are getting engineer and designer eyes on to see if we need immediate fixes. (We are currently overhauling some systems which will address a few of these more core bugs, but that will take some iterations!)

Thank you again for doing this report, it really helps us triage and address quickly.

This is amazing! What hook/yarn size did you use? Some of these details look so dainty!

I love crochet and have done my own TFT little legends :D

Hello! I appreciate the ping and feedback! I went ahead and had our team review this post and we will triage and address in an upcoming release :)

ieatpickleswithmilk

do the bots still stutter step a lot and clump together (like same pixel) as 5?

They should not! So if you see them doing so, please let me know.

Hello! This should be fixed now. Please let me know if you run into the issue again. Thank you for reporting! :D

Thank you for the feedback and recommendations! We will double check to ensure that the dropdown works as intended and if so, we will look at making the deltas between each difficulty more unique between them (there are intended differences meant for different audiences though they might not be extreme enough at the current experience.)

Please continue to give us feedback between each patch!

Hello! Thank you for flagging. We fixed this quickly after you reported it but I forgot to thank you and confirm a fix :D

14.12 is Live today and sadly custom games don't have the new bots yet. Do you have an update on what's happening? I'm really excited to get new players into the game with some custom lobbies :)

It will be rolling out today in about ~6 hours to live servers. It requires a few switches to be flipped that we want to stagger out from the larger patch deployments to avoid causing noise for those teams. :)

ShellPasGratuit

Is that why the new AI in customs didn't get pushed to live servers ?

Nope, we will be turning them on today in a handful of hours. :)

Thanks for the great update. I got some games in and wanted to provide some Feedback:

  • The bots are a huge upgrade in the way we can tell them what to do!

  • The bots wiggle around a lot when they step into the jungle. Sometimes they even stand still completely

  • ADCs are not able to kite in any way right now which makes them very easy targets

  • Junglers seem to be very aggressive and don't care about objectives. I tried to ping an objective as well as move ping to one but they don't seem to react. Would be great to be able to have them interact with some of the players pings

  • The new intermediate bots are WAAAAY easier than the old intermediate bots which is a shame. I hope we'll get better difficulties soon. Maybe even "Iron/Bronze/Silver" etc?

All in all I want to thank you and the team for making LoL more PVE friendly!

Thank you for the feedback! We really appreciate receiving the feedback from players directly to provide a better experience.

Thankfully, we are actively in development for targeting improvements to:

  • Movement & Pathing
  • Decision making (swapping between decisions)
  • Turret aggression/diving

So please look forward to that and let us know how we can continue to improve the experience as we iterate :D

Thank you for reporting this bug! We will have a fix out soon :)

Hey are there any plans for increasing the bot roster and upgrading the ai for customs? Since they still use the old one

Custom games are currently soon.tm (like really soon). This will include adding all the current roster of Intermediate bots available in the new bot system (so more bots than what custom games currently offer).

Additional bots are coming thereafter, just on a slower timeline as we have been improving gameplay systems the bots use (Ex: Stopping early invade of jungle, improving pathing, etc.) and improving the New Player experience in Intro queue post-Vanguard (Ex: reducing the difficulty of intro bots to better suit new players, building core tech to allow for specific bots to have specific behavior expressions, etc.)

Our team also has increased ownership to that of the entire New Player Experience game systems so we are deeply learning and iterating on some ancient code in order to improve it as well. :)

PLS give us more information ,I’ve been waiting months to have the new bots in customs finally

Currently targeting next patch 14.12! Added in some features and removed tech debt alongside it that should make it easier to adjust in the future.

Hello! What setup are you using for these bots? We are currently working on the Custom Game space to enable the new bots, so knowing the difficulty + settings you are using is valuable for us to triage!

Spideraxe30

Is the Intermediate bots queue being renamed to Advanced, based on wording in the patch notes?

Ah! Thank you for flagging. They are staying Intermediate so I have asked the patch note author to reflect that in the patch notes. :)

Lilibonny

Does anyone know if the bots are also available in custom games?

Hello! I am the Product Lead for Bots. We are not launching the new bots into customs at the moment, so if you play customs, they will be the old bots.

We do have plans to begin work on them soon though!

edit: Akali seems to preform much better than other bots at wave management and trading. But isn't immune to "F*ck this shit I'm out" syndrome.

A massive improvement on the bots! I've been playing top in intermediate bots and trying to play as "competitively" as i can, here's what I've found.

- Both Smolder & Cassiopeia do not use auto spacing in the slightest and instead go melee range when trading

- The bots refuse to play from behind and simply walk back and forth while not attempting to last hit, even if they have sustain in their kit. The walking back and forth seems to be based solely on a tether and not on minion hp and other factors. if you walk up, they walk back, and vice versa. I think a massive upgrade here would be making them choose whether or not a last hit is "worth it", based on things like their hp, level disadvantage, etc.

- For some reason, when they get behind in lane, they just... leave! in every game, the bot has decided to what i assume is farm jgl camps for exp as i haven't followed them, Mainly because I'm holding a freeze in most games.

edit: I've noticed when bots leave lane they also roam into other lanes as well, not sure if this is intentional but if it is, it only makes the snowball bigger by sending under leveled champs into fed lanes.

- And on the topic of freezing and general wave management. The bots lose their minds when you freeze near your tower. They just give up, which to be fair, I would to.

- The mechanics of the bots are in my opinion perfect for the intermediate skill level i was playing at. you won't get auto-spaced and completely gaped, but if you try to trade under turret and disrespect on a Cass, she WILL ult you and you WILL die. Which i think is a perfect balance for intermediate

- I have noticed some odd jgl behavior while proxying, but i would say it's circumstantial. I've yet to get into a game where someone doesn't lock in Yasuo/Yone and sprint at the poor rumble waiting for his blue buff to spawn.

- I think most players will be able to beat these bot at lvl 1, so a possible way of counteracting the toplane snowball is for the top bot to be able to "call for a gank" if they're getting destroyed. Not only would this teach players map awareness and other key skills that you could easily miss without being taught first-hand, but it gives junglers a chance to counter gank.

Anyway, this is amazing. I will continue to freeze for 20min in bot games for my enjoyment and will update my post if i find any more silly bugs.

Thank you for the feedback! This is great stuff!

They are an overall improvement over the previous bots in many ways - it is just really hard to gauge the improvement since they are not available in customs and every game that will be played will (almost) be a complete stomp.

That being said, here are a few things I have encountered:

- Bots do not attack back/use spells at all if they are at a disadvantage - they just walk around or try to get away if you close the gap on them.

- Had a Seraphine bot go completely afk for a few minutes until I walked up to their base, which made her move.

- Their aggression vs. farming in lane needs work. They will completely ignore waves to fight sometimes - especially mages that do not have that much ability to trade early on.

- The bots should leash the jungler so that if someone wants to invade, at least they are met with 2-3 bots, rather than a single jungle bot that just falls behind.

- Their herald/grubbies logic is broken - there is no idea of whether or not the bots can do these objectives at a specific point in time. For example, Veigar mid + Smolder top attempted to run to herald and begin it. Smolder kept running around trying to aggro enemies while the Veigar sat in the pit fighting herald with autos. There should be more cohesion when they do these objectives.

I will edit this as I play more.

Thank you for the feedback!

Edit: Fixing the afking now

Just tried a game and first feedback:

We tried to invade the poor rumble jungle, he was standing still at the blue, we chased him(he got out tho, nice job on the dodging skillshots). He then started red, which is great for practice. He was behind tho, which made the game rly unplayable for him, and free for our jgl.

Maybe he could start by hiding in the blue bush and ward before? That might help to avoid invades making the game too fast.

Also the zyra sup went back after a bad trade, she waited until boots to come back, which was rly long. Maybe including some kind of limit on how long they can wait in base for gold?

Great job tho, it felt like a decent practice and good entry for new players trying to improve/trying a new champ.

Thank you for the feedback! We are already working on the fix for the early jungle invade. We have a short term and longer term fix in the works now :)

(note: I only bothered playing intermediate bots) Was laning mid vs. a Lux and I forced her back on the first wave I believe. After that she went afk for around 4 minutes it looks like (not 100% sure because can’t check the replay but pretty sure she didn’t show anywhere on the map). Also invaded a Sejuani jungle level 1, she flashed the wrong way and after dying didn’t attempt to take any camps for like a minute after she respawned (we had them warded but nobody was in her jungle)

I think overall the bots are changed for better, they play a little too aggressively in most lanes IMO. They don’t seem to know when to bail out of trades or if they might win a trade so they almost always stick to you. Their mechanics are fine but most of the time the fight will be unfavorable so they end up feeding 99% of the time.

Thank you for the feedback! We are looking at ways to address the aggression now (along with the AFKing)!
