Hi everyone, unfortunately we had to drop Rocket League into maintenance mode again today, and we wanted to share some info on what’s been happening behind the scenes since last week.

On Thursday last week, we performed scheduled maintenance to move our backend infrastructure (also known as PsyNet) to an updated version of MySQL. Once we hit a peak number of 315,000 concurrent players on Friday, PsyNet started experiencing critical errors, which continued throughout the weekend, and today. We had to repeat this process several times over the weekend, which is why we made the difficult decisions to delay the starts of RLCS, Rivals Play-Ins, and CRL.

We are still investigating the root cause of the problem within PsyNet. This is something we’ve been working on non-stop over the weekend, and we are committed to getting PsyNet back into a stable state as soon as we possibly can. Once we have PsyNet back in a stable state, we will share more on the specifics on what happened, and what we...

So servers are still down?

No, game is online as of this post.

RelativeTimeTravel

I already did start a support ticket with Psyonic which was just as useless as Steam. I provided my steam transaction ID as requested last week and haven't heard anything since.

Psyonix Ticket# 356052

Why are you lying about refunds?

As I've said a few times now, I'm not, but still happy to help you with this.

RelativeTimeTravel

I've been going back and forth on a ticket with steam support for over a week and still don't have a refund. /u/psyonix_devin is a liar, they aren't providing refunds.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. If you start a ticket with us here, I'll make we talk to Steam and either get a refund issued, or get clarity on what would make you ineligible for one. Please DM me the Psyonix support ticket so I can follow up on my end. Thank you.

I followed the instructions directly as instructed and had Valve refuse to refund me, as I've played more than 2 hours. Will try follow up further.

EDIT: Actually I can't follow up as they've already "Closed the case" I also manually submitted a ticket which was denied because I've owned the game more than 14 days.

I tried to submit a support ticket on the RocketLeague website but it says the support is down for maintenance?

Really not sure what to do here /u/Psyonix_Devin ?

Start a ticket on the Rocket League support site. (The maintenance banner is about today's server maintenance, not about the support site.)

Hey Devin! Any chance you could let us know if you're working on Fennec decals as it's become (at least) the third most popular car? Genuinely curious just so I know what to expect, as to know if I should just buy the Octane decal(s). Much appreciated!

We are! We've seen all the love for Fennec on here, on Twitter, and especially in-game. We have one as a Blueprint coming in an update in March.

No Fennec decals again?! C’mon man, lets get some new stuff for it eventually!

This is the most basic definition of content I've ever seen.

It's a small update, but we want to include the new RLCS teams in the Esports Shop close to the start of the season. A larger update is in the works for March.

From the blog:

Rocket League's first title update of 2020 will refresh the Esports Shop to help kick off Season 9 of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS). You can expect the update to go live on all platforms on February 4 at 10 a.m. PST / 6 p.m. UTC (Pending first-party certification).

Here are the new teams being added to the Esports Shop rotation:

  • eUnited
  • Pittsburgh Knights
  • Team Reciprocity
  • Veloce Esports

Each team will have the following items added to the Esports Shop rotation:

  • Octane Decal
  • Dominus Decal
  • ARMR Wheels
  • Bionic Wheels
  • Patriarch Wheels
  • Player Banner

Additionally, NRG Esports is getting items with the team's newly-branded logos. Expect to see those added to the Esports Shop rotation. Anyone who owns previous versions of NRG items will still own those previous versions in their inventory. Check out the new items below!

Fan Rewards will also be refreshed in this update. We'll have more to share about these new Fan Rewards following the update. We hop...

What about those of us who didn't purchase directly through Steam, /u/Psyonix_Devin? We can't open tickets through Steam if we bought via Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, etc.

If you bought RL via a third-party like Humble or GMG, please contact the point of purchase first about a refund. If they cannot process one for you, start a ticket with us on our support website.

Hi everyone, posted an update here that covers the refund issues and why we're ending support.

Hi everyone, posted an update here that covers the refund issues and why we're ending support.

We want to update everyone on refunds for macOS and Linux users, as well as shed some light on why we made the decision to end support for both platforms.

Our plan yesterday was to have players contact us directly about refunds for the base game so we could help you obtain one from Valve as quickly as possible. This was supposed to happen in conjunction with Valve issuing refunds to players who have played Rocket League on macOS or Linux. While Steam’s normal refund policy has a two week purchase and/or two hours of play window, we coordinated with Valve to expand eligibility to anyone who has played Rocket League on either platform.

That process did not work as planned, and we’re sorry for the frustration this has caused for anyone involved. At this time, anyone who has played Rocket League on macOS or Linux can contact Valve about a refund for the base game, and the refund should go through.

If you play Rocket League on macOS or Linux and want a refund for the base game, please f...

The support page links you to your store of purchase where you'll be denied a refund.

Linking this is just an empty nothing from /u/Psyonix_Devin

You need to start a ticket with us asking about the refund.

I have requested a refund and been denied.

Was this through Steam, or through the link I just provided?

Hi everyone, if you are playing RL on macOS or Linux and are interested in a refund, please contact our Customer Care team here: https://support.rocketleague.com/

For anyone playing on macOS or Linux, please take a look at the knowledge base article we just put up. The most important bits:

Players on Mac can try running Rocket League on Windows with Apple's Boot Camp tool. Boot Camp is not something Psyonix officially supports. You can learn more here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468

If you play Rocket League on Linux, you can try Steam's Proton app or Wine. These tools are not officially supported by Psyonix. Please see the links to both below.
