Hello, Tamers! Time flies, huh? It seems like it was just yesterday when we were spoiling the contents of version 1.1 and 1.2, but we’re already here, sharing some insight into the upcoming 1.3! We’re hoping to be able to launch this patch on March 6th. We’ll keep you posted if anything happens!

Let’s jump into the bigger, most interesting features this patch will bring.

Challenge Mode

Have you ever considered Temtem to be tough? Yeah, me too. But what if we managed to make it even harder? The new Challenge Modes are here to add a new layer of complexity for those who love a good challenge, extreme limitations, and a taste of pure randomness.

These challenge modes will run on a different server, and have a different save slot. You will not be risking your 3-year-old Lumas in the Nuzlocke mode, not any Luma, for that matter: there won’t be Lumas in the Challenge modes. There won’t be trades, either.

You can only have one challenge run active at any given time, so you’ll have to finish...

  • We’ve taken this chance to re-synchronize the status of the Tempedia and the Kudos. This should improve, and hopefully eradicate, any discrepancy between the Kudos that involve capturing Tems and Lumas, and your actual Tempedia number. This is an issue we’ve been after for a while, so please let us know if you still experience any bug with it.

  • We’ve improved the issue with crashes on the Switch.
    • Most of the crashes on Switch were happening due to memory issues. The game would use up all the memory available in the console (the amount varies depending on the console), and then it’d crash. We’ve implemented a series of optimization changes that will substantially ameliorate the current issues.
    • Crashes will still happen from time to time, but now that we’ve dived deep into the issue we will be carrying out more optimization in future patches, so as to improve performance even more.
  • 👥We have made some improvements and changes to the dye system:
    • We’ve added a confirmation pop-up whe...

The first batch of regional events is about to end!

While we are happy with the positive reception the TemCS has had, we know we still have a lot of things to improve. That’s why we will keep listening to your feedback and work to move everything in the right direction.

The following changes will start taking place at the start of February. We wanted to explain the reasons behind each change, but if you find the reading too heavy, feel free to skip straight to the changes made in each section.

Regional Events

Intention behind the changes:

Regional Opens were intended as short, fast-paced tournaments with the goal of serving as an intro into the competitive world for new players, while allowing for more veteran players to fish for small amounts of TRP. It is clear that in their current state, they are not fulfilling either of the goals. Furthermore, failing to reward the players’ time investment during the swiss stage punishes every participant, and the TRP gains between the top cut an...

  • We’ve had to delete all the Showdown codes, except the eSports ones, due to a data conflict. Your teams haven’t been affected, you’ll just need to generate a new code, and, if you were using or posting it somewhere, replace that with the new one.
  • Aqua Bullet Hell has accidentally been removed from your Umishi and Ukama, but you’ll have an empty technique slot and ABH will be in your learned techniques, so you can re-learn it immediately. We apologize for the inconveniences!

  • We have added chat to battles.
    • You’ll see a new menu during battles from now on, with new icons for the Details, Battle Log, and the Chat with their assigned hotkey.
    • Chat will be hidden by default, and you can make it pop out by pressing the associated hotkey, just how the Battle Log works. Chat in battle is disabled for Ranked matches, in-game tournaments, and Dojo Wars, and available for friendly competitive matches and PvE.
  • We’ve added the new music variations per island, this time to the competitive batt...

Temtem Championship Series

The Temtem Championship Series (or TemCS, as we like to call it), is Crema’s officially-sanctioned tournament series. It will take place in 2023, with the possibility of celebrating future editions based on the success and interest it generates in this inauguration .  Players around the world will be split into 3 regions to compete in a set of regional and interregional tournaments throughout the year, battling for Tamer Rating Points (TRP) to qualify for the Temtem World Championship, where the strongest Tamers around the globe will fight for the title of World Champion.

While we are very excited to announce it, keep in mind this is our first time maintaining an official competitive scene, so while we plan to stick to the format presented below, changes might be made to the circuit in the future to better fit and adapt to the needs of the competitive player base.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the TemCS!

TemCS tournaments are played using...

Welcome Tamers to our first event ever, and the first of many: the Winterfest!

Winterfest is an event to commemorate the festive season and the holidays. In this event you will be able to get:

 A new festive cosmetic hat
 A new holidays spray
 A new Christmassy furniture item
A new emote to convey the holiday spirit
A new seal to display your love for this time of the year
A new banner so everyone knows how festive you are

These rewards will only be obtainable for the duration of the event, so don’t dilly-dally if you want them!

You can access Events from the crown tab in the main menu.

You will then see a series of challenges that will remain static and not change for the duration of the event. Completing these challenges will grant you points, and achieving certain thresholds of points will net you rewards. Points don’t get spent, so to speak, so don’t worry about claiming those rewards as you reach them.

Be very merry and enjoy the festive season with Winterfest. Temtem up!

Hello Tamers! We’re ready to give way to a new Season of Temtem, and with it, patch 1.2, filled with exciting new content and delightful improvements.

Like you already know because we told you back then, this update is actually 1.1 and 1.2 merged together, and called 1.2 for clarity. This means there’s a lot of content to dig through, so accompany me as I walk you through it!

A new Season

Of course, this means a new Season is beginning! With this patch, we inaugurate Season 2: Days of Yore, a season reminiscent of Medieval and olden times, filled with knights, bards, and a colorful cast of characters. A new Tamer Pass begins (remember you can always check how long you have to complete it on the upper right corner) and a new set of cosmetic items will enter the shop rotation.

Improved battling

Ranked v2

The Ranked format is receiving a lot of changes and re-arrangements that we hope will make the PvP side more complete and fulfilling. Ranked meta is now arranged in Seasons (the same o...

  • This patch represents both update 1.1 and 1.2 fused together, like we explained in-depth here.
  • Showdown has been added to the game, so the ranked ladder will no longer auto-scale your Tems to the max level and SVs. Please review your competitive team before jumping in.

  • A new Season begins today: Days of Yore.
    • Enjoy this medieval-themed Tamer Pass filled with imposing mounts, knights, bards, royalty, clergy and an old-timey new musical instrument.
    • A new set of items has entered the shop rotation, so keep an eye out for interesting new things!
    • Your Pass has returned to level 0. Remember you can check the resting duration of your Pass on the upper right corner.
    • Items in Season 1 Tamer Pass will join the regular rotation of the store in about a year.
  • Ranked v2 has been implemented.
    • Ranked will now be determined by Seasons, the same ones that determine the Tamer Pass.
    • TMR has been hidden. You will instead see a new system of ranks and leagues: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and the...

Hello, my dear Tamers! It’s now been over a month since Temtem fully launched, and we’re still working hard as ever on creating more content, polishing more features, fixing more bugs, and maintaining everything looking nice and fresh.

It’s then time to talk about the future, and more specifically, about the two upcoming updates, which will be fused as one.

The merging and delay of 1.1, and the arrival of 1.2

When we talked about the launch window back during the Golden Week, we always expected it to be a matter of weeks, a month at most. But we clearly underestimated the amount of issues that the launch would have, or the quickness which with we could approach them. Part of this is our fault, part of it was outside of our hands. Nevertheless, we apologize. We know you’ve been eagerly waiting for some of the features announced for the launch window, with Showdown being the #1 of them, but it’s going to happen a bit later than we initially planned or expected.

We’ll be merging 1.1, whi...

  • The Luma captured stat in the Tamer’s Info card will now only count the OT Lumas that the player has or has had at any point since version 0.8.
    • There were many issues with Tamer Card’s info and Kudos recounting, and a bug last patch caused even more trouble. To tackle this once and for all, we’ve completely rebuilt this system with the data we have, which covers everything since Kudos were added.
    • It will now be consistent across all places shown, and only take OT Tems into consideration.
    • Pre-evolutions of any currently owned Lumas have automatically been accounted for.
  • The Tempedia should now also correctly reflect the OT Luma Temtem that the player has, including their pre-evolutions, or has had since 0.8.
  • The “Collector” Kudo is still bugged and will show less captured Tems than your Tempedia does. It will be equalized with the rest of info in the next maintenance. We apologize for the inconveniences.

  • We have improved the performance of very crowded areas on Switch.
  • All forms...

  • We’re carrying out a set of improvements to Tamer Pass experience gain:
    • Battles against NPC Tamers will now give Tamer Pass experience. This experience has been added to all of your passes retroactively.
      • While Weekly Challenges and endgame activities, unlocked after completing the story campaign, will still be the easiest and main form of progressing through the Tamer Pass, it was a mistake to leave people progressing through the campaign out of it.
      • With this change, completing the campaign and all side quests will give you ~15 Tamer Pass levels.
      • This new way of gaining experience will stop being granted at Tamer Pass level 20 and higher, in order to prevent (or avoid forcing) players to keep resetting their accounts constantly to farm this XP.
    •  All forms of gaining Tamer Pass experience now give 70% more experience, including Weekly Challenges. This experience has been added to all of your passes retroactively, too.
      • While some of the most dedicated players have already reached ...

Hello, Tamers new and old! Temtem 1.0 is out now.

It sure has been a journey! Early Access launched on January 21 of 2020, and today we finally close down that chapter and walk into a new era. The 1.0 release means we’re now on all four planned platforms, that the game is complete, and that we can look at the bigger picture, and look back at the road we’ve traversed. We haven’t stopped working, but today still feels like a dream even if we saw it coming.

With the Golden Week spoiling most of the content and changes coming to version 1.0, this post might not mean much to regular players who frequent our website. But just in case you’re new here, or you want to take a good look at all the changes, here is everything that the 1.0 version of Temtem is going to be changing. Take a seat, because this is going to be long.

Tamer’s Paradise

Tamer’s Paradise is the endgame island of Temtem, a place where players go looking for a challenge once they’ve finished the campaign. You’ll be able to o...

  • This update represents the end of the Early Access period.
  • We’ve globally restarted the cooldown required to reset accounts, in case any Tamers wanted to start fresh on the 1.0 launch.
  • The new quest to enter Tamer’s Paradise won’t appear as tracked automatically. You will be able to find it in your Quest Log.

  • A whole new island has been added: Tamer’s Paradise, the endgame island. Tamer’s Paradise holds 6 new activities, the Founders Hall and a new Shopping Center.
    • Take the four Archtamers on consecutively and without changing up your team in the Archtamers’ Sanctum.
    • Forge a four-Tem squad and constantly adapt it in the DraftArena.
    • Defeat as many enemies as possible while adapting to a list of requirements in the GritArena.
    • Face off against endless hordes of wild Temtem while having limited access to items in the TemSafari.
    • Explore the Evershifting Tower, a procedurally-generated, ever-changing dungeon where you’ll have to build your team from scratch.
    • Select one goal Temtem and ...

Hello, Tamers!
Although some of our players have already been enjoying Temtem’s world, a handful of new players will join the fun on September 6th. Through its day one cross-play and cross-progression, Xbox Series S|X and Switch players will shortly be joining the ranks of our Early Access Tamers, and we’re very excited to welcome them all!

One question we were getting pretty often was: how does Temtem perform on the Switch? We worked a lot on optimization and performance improvements, and we have finally sat down to show you a gameplay video of an actual Switch playing Temtem!

For the spec-oriented players out there: the game uses dynamic resolution to keep a steady 30fps. This means it’ll adapt to the circumstances and provide more or less resolution depending on how demanding the situation is. On a general note, however, the resolution while docked sits around 900p, going up to 1080p and down to 700p under very demanding circumstances, while undocked it sits very steadily around ...

Hello, Tamers! In case you’ve missed it, we spent the entirety of last week spoiling content and surprises that are coming to the game on version 1.0, on September 6th, or soon after. While this is pretty out of character for us, who like to only reveal stuff when it’s set and done, we believe the 1.0 is important enough that we had to give you a peek into it beforehand.

This is the bullet-point, patch-note-style recap of the whole week, for those of you who might want all the info in one place, but we still recommend you read the whole posts! There are a lot of details, info and insight that are useful to understand the bigger picture, and it’s much more enjoyable.

However, keep in mind that things are still subject to change, and iteration might happen from now up until 1.0. What you’re about to read might change before it reaches you, or might take longer than expected. Do keep this as an illustrative and generic look into what’s coming with 1.0 and close to it.

Day 1: Campaign pro...

Hello once more, Tamers, and welcome to the last day of the very exciting Golden Week, a week where we spoil content and changes coming to version 1.0 or close to it! We close the week on a sweet note, with a couple of changes made to improve your shopping activities, rewards finally coming to Kudos, and a new Breeder route, here to delight Water enthusiasts.

No disclaimer today either, so let’s dig in!

Pansuns, or the lack thereof, and current activities

With the changes done in 0.9, and the inclusion of the Auction House and the Dojo Park, we believe that the economy for Pansuns is in an adequate place currently.

The inclusion of extra Feathers as a reward for each activity represents a general improvement in rewards for all activities, since you will now get both the RNG rewards, and the Feathers to purchase the non-RNG rewards. This should help mend the biggest issue that was causing dissatisfaction amongst our players. We don’t have plans for any additional changes there.

However,...

Hello, Tamers! Welcome to the fourth day of our Golden Week, a golden celebration of 1.0 content and improvement. As the week ends, we’re ready to bring out the big guns: today we’ll be talking about the very rumored, very expected neuralgic center of endgame activities, Tamer’s Paradise, as well as Feathers. This content is planned to arrive right with 1.0 launch, and today, for a change, I have no disclaimer to make.

Let’s dig in!

Welcome to Tamer’s Paradise

Been spendin’ most their lives livin’ in the Tamer’s Paradise… In the 1.0 patch, we’re introducing the last island in the Archipelago: Tamer’s Paradise (also previously referred to as the endgame island). This man-made resort will be the delight of the most experienced Tamers, holding new activities and a whole new economy with more reliable rewards.

Your way into Tamer’s Paradise will be tied up to a new quest you’ll start after the credits roll. The resort will feature six “weekly” (more on this later) new activities represent...

Welcome to day 3 of our Golden Week of 1.0 spoilers, a week where we share spoilers on what’s coming with version 1.0 and shortly after! Today we tackle the very delicate issue of microtransactions with as much honesty and transparency as we can.
But first, as it’s now tradition, a disclaimer:

Our stance on p2w situations

As we’ve talked about multiple times in the past, Temtem is going to feature a season pass and a premium cosmetic store. These features are planned to release during the “launch window” just like the Competitive changes mentioned yesterday, so please don’t expect these on day one, but soon after that.

Before diving deeper into the features, we’d like to clarify one thing: every item that can be obtained from the Tamer Pass or the Premium Store is purely cosmetic. There won’t be any items that will give you an advantage in the game. None of the items will allow you to level up faster, train your Tems better, or anything like that. We’ve been pretty adamant about this s...
