Hey while you are taking look at melee weapons I wanted to bring notice that currently you can't get Damage to slowed and snared enemies at level 20 perk. This is really bad since 30% snare is probably best level 25 perk for melee weapons but not being able to combine it with snared dmg buff really sucks especially since guns have no problem with that. Please someone from epic who sees this comment look into this.

We discovered several weapon types where the Damage VS Slow/Snare perk should have been possible, but was missing from the perk loadout. They should be fixed up in update 4.4.

Now do us a huge favor and fix the melee perks that are currently doing literally nothing. Damage resistance does nothing and some people are saying that movement speed also does nothing. It would be awesome if these perks actually worked with this buff coming to the 4.4 patch.

The Damage Resistance perk is not functioning at all, and will be fixed in update 4.4.

The Movement Speed perk does increase normal run speed, but is not increasing sprint speed. In update 4.4 it will be fixed so that it increases both.

Patch notes sneak peek! :)

Hi folks!

In update v5.1 we’re adding the first chapter of a new three-part narrative quest line to Canny Valley. These are all-new quests that everyone who has finished Plankerton will have access to, regardless of how far into Canny or Twine they have progressed. What I’d like to talk about today is what this means for the structure of Canny Valley and Twine Peaks.

Unlocking these two areas will now be done through a combination of your Storm Shield Defense progression and your Home Base Power Rating. When you complete a Storm Shield Defense the next Defense quest becomes available immediately, so as soon as you feel you can win the fight, you can move on to the next Defense and open up more of the mission map. Disconnecting these unlocks from the storyline allows players to unlock difficulties appropriate to their power rating, so playing events and side-missions with your friends will no longer cause the game difficulty and your power level to fall too far out of sync.

Does the SSD change apply to all areas or only Canny/Twine?

Only Canny/Twine for now. If it works out well we may look into reworking Plankerton as well.

Hey everyone,

We want to give a sneak peek into what’s coming up for Challenge the Horde. From now until the end of Season 5 a series of Weekly Horde Challenges will run, providing a different gameplay experience each time. One of these Weekly Challenge missions will appear in the Horde area, set at a difficulty appropriate to your Storm Shield progression.

The challenges will have specific modifiers encouraging the use a variety of different play styles. Each challenge will reward you with something awesome - such as Heroes, Weapons or Seasonal Gold - the first time it’s completed, followed by a repeatable quest that grants event tickets.

The first Weekly Challenge will appear in update v5.2, and will put you up against increasing numbers of Minibosses in each wave. With the release of the v5.2 Content Update the following week, the first challenge will go away and a new one will appear. This second challenge features bulletproof enemies that must be defeated with melee weap...

This second challenge features bulletproof enemies that must be defeated with melee weapons, traps, or hero abilities.

Does Teddy count as an ability or bullets?

It's buffed by SMS on cast, so using it's an ability... but is him shooting counted as an ability?

All abilities (including TEDDY, Goin' Commando, and Lefty + Righty) are not considered ranged weapons, and should do normal damage to the husks during this challenge.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to have a quick chat today about some improvements to the distribution of RE-Perk and Perk-UP that are coming in update 6.21.

The first change we’re making is to extend which difficulty levels can grant Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Perk-UP, all the way to the end of Twine Peaks. This change applies to both mission rewards, and Miniboss Mission Alert rewards. We saw feedback from high-level players around the lack of Uncommon and Rare Perk-UP at the top levels of the game, and agree that players shouldn’t have to play downlevel and do trivial content just to upgrade a brand new weapon that they’ve acquired. These materials will still be most common at the difficulties where they’re found today, but on average there should be enough on the map to prevent you from having to go back to previous locations.

While looking at the Perk material economy, we also decided the income rates could be increased a bit, so we’re adding another source of Perk materials to t...

I dont mind going down a few level to get blue and green perk ups. I feel there is sufficient legendary perk up opportunities at the moment. What we are lacking is epic perk ups. They are so very rare to get.

This change should make Epic Perk-UP show up more often as a reward in Twine Peaks, particularly at the top end of the theater.

Hey folks,

This is a bug. We changed Seismic Smash and a couple of other abilities so they could destroy lobbed beehives, and unintentionally made them trigger propane tanks as well.

This should be fixed in update 12.00. It will no longer trigger propane tanks, but will still destroy beehives.

Thank you for sharing your story u/Gamerm0mma! This is incredibly heart warming to read and I'll make sure to pass this on to the development team.

Can confirm he passed it along. Thanks for sharing!

So awesome! :)

Hi guys,

Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we took a look at the mission and Mission Alert rewards above Rating 100, and are planning to make some changes. Many of the reward types are not scaling up sufficiently - especially Evolution Materials and Perk Materials. We're going to buff these up, and will have more details shortly. Expect this to land an update or two after the start of Season 10.

Thanks,

Jason

I'm kinda mad dev Jason made a post saying tickets would be cashed in for sci fi llamas at the end of season 9, now they've changed it to bday llamas after I've spent most of mine because of that statement .

https://www.reddit.com/r/FORTnITE/comments/bwdl85/tickets_and_new_llamas/epwwjph/

Sorry I didn't mean to cause confusion! I just didn't want to spill the beans on the BDay Llama early before /u/Magyst announced it officially.

Note that if you have leftover tickets at the end of the season they will be converted into Sci-Fi Llamas (not Military or BDay).

The Summer Tickets will last until the end of Season 9. When Season 10 launches any leftover tickets will be converted into Llamas as per usual (specifically the new Llama being introduced in update 9.20).

To follow up, does that mean completing a daily challenge will now give us 240 gold where it used to give 100 daily coins?

That’s correct!

Can the rarity of 5-Star Materials be reduced? It's so difficult to find Brightcore and Sunbeam on high end Twine Peaks, and what's the story behind 6-Star Materials?

When we rework Twine Peaks for endgame players we will extend the difficulty bands up, and Tier 5 crafting materials will be much more common in these higher-difficulty missions.

We built out the Tier 6 crafting materials back before launch as a future-proofing thing, so we could eventually bump up the power level of our items, but they were not supposed to be available in the wild. Even if we eventually add an additional tier, we'll create new crafting materials instead of reusing those old ones.

Any changes to the functionality or visibility of alerts in game? Ie. Seeing cooldowns

We aren't happy with how obscured Mission Alert quotas currently are, and are planning to make changes to them, tentatively in the late season 8 or early season 9 timeframe. The design isn't completely nailed down yet, so we can't share further details at this time.

What llamas will be added to the expansion in season 8?

The Vindertech weapon set is being moved into the Expansion section at the start of Season 8.

Yes you will, at the same ratio as the conversion (240 Gold per 100 Coins)

With the free hero voucher we are receiving tomorrow, would we be able to Recruit heroes we don't have in the CB from previous events that are tied to a questline (for example: Carbide) ?

Yes. Carbide should be available for recruitment (for a voucher) on the Blockbuster page.
