The engram from the Trials Flawless chest will disappear for players who have earned all available Trials rewards.

Does this mean the flawless chest will drop nothing this week for those of us who have gotten every reward? Lmfao. It's like they want us to reset after every win.

EDIT: dmg has clarified below, please read that

Apologies on the wording here, talked to player support to get more context:

There's an issue where some players who own all available mods from the chest will see an exotic engram appear, but because they own all of the mods, they don't get anything at all.

No other rewards are impacted.

This week at Bungie, we prepare for rivalry.
Announced earlier this morning, Guardian Games is fast on approach. Beginning April 21 at 10 AM PDT, the games begin. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks will compete to prove which class is the most dedicated in Destiny 2.
Your entry into the competition begins with a visit to Eva Levante. Each Guardian will receive a class item to adorn while taking part in competition. Bronze, silver, and gold medals will be available to earn daily, each of which will focus on specific game modes. To earn medals, equip your new class item, defeat enemies, pick up laurels on the battlefield, and advance your quest for the medals you desire.

We fully acknowledge that class populations are a little lopsided. Hunters are so fabulous with their capes that there are indeed more of them than Warlocks or Titans. To help offset this (so Hunters don’t steal the show every day), medals will be weighted slightly per class to maintain an even play... Read more

Cosmetics that aren't tied to Eververse???? What sorcery is this?

We're listening.

Duwang-

First time in weeks you guys mention eververse on here and it’s just advertisement. Thanks dmg.

Pulling copy from the outro:

So, we come to a close on another TWAB but we understand that there are some topics that weren’t covered on here that you may have strong desire to know more about. Eververse, Trials improvements, our plans to address FOMO, tackling the bounty problem, and more. There are also questions like “What about feeling like players can’t play their way? What about Ritual weapons, anti-cheat improvements, etc?” .

We’ve been having frequent syncs to talk through these issues and more. Many of them require a long-term plan with short-term mitigation to help ease the pain. The last thing we want to do is over-commit to changes that ultimately may be reversed, or sign the team up for work that leads to crunch. We don’t want to make promises we know we can’t keep, so to speak.

Over the next few weeks, we hope to solidify some plans and get them communicated out. We’re looking at what can be accomplished in Season 11, which is coming much faster than many of us can b...

I’ve been talking about this for a year now and this is the perfect chance to give some feedback that will actually get seen.

The reason the double loot is so good is inherent reward. One of Destiny’s biggest issues ever since I started in Forsaken is the fact that so much of the loot is tied into the pursuits menu. Getting loot from that screen doesn’t feel viscerally rewarding in the way that engram drops or post activity loot feeds do.

Double loot has that visceral inherent reward. In a way that say, doubled bounty limits or doubled bounty rewards never would.

Destiny desperately needs to feel more inherently rewarding. I can’t speak for activity design, that’s beyond the scope of this feedback, but the reward structure needs to shift from “pick up these bounties and turn them in” to “do activity, kill boss, open chest”. You take the same loot and change the presentation and it feels completely different.

Back in Shadowkeep I picked up an engram that gave me Vex Offensive loot. Engram drops are usually very consistent and only dropped three world drop sets at the time. The drudgery was so broken by that drop that I still remember it three seasons later.

The best loot chase I’ve ever had in this game was when I was big into Gambit, because in Gambit you get loot just for playing. There’s bounties and pursuits yes, but they’re optional extras, not required. Core playlist activities are inherently rewarding, and they are the only place in the game where that is true. Everything else requires busywork. Bounties and Essences and Warmind bits. They’re not viscerally, inherently rewarding. There’s no dopamine rush from seeing the engrams pour out or the loot feed populate.

Core activities have the best reward structure in the game, but the rewards themselves have been neglected. The world drop pool hasn’t been refreshed properly. The playlists never get cool new loot. Dreaming City gear doesn’t drop in the Dreaming City. Dreambane doesn’t drop on the Moon. There’s always some bounty or busywork between the players and loot. And that disconnect feels awful.

We need a loot refresh. Yes. But we also need to feel that rush when the boss goes down or the chest opens. That loot filling the right side of the screen. I bound the pursuits screen to a button right next to my inventory screen. I shouldn’t have to check pursuits that often. But I do. Because if I’m not, the game doesn’t reward my time.

Thanks for the reply. As a question - did you feel the same about destination challenges when D2 first shipped?

We had a lot of feedback that challenges didn't feel appropriate, and a shift to bounties was made. Now bounties are felt to be a little overkill, as they're the main driver for XP and progression. What's your ideal middleground?

Lol right? Like god damn half the time I think they're trolling us with these baiting fuckin questions. Put yourself in the shoes of a player and the answers to most of your questions are obvious

I'd rather ask questions and get an assortment of feedback, rather than assume and potentially miss points that are being made in the replies.

Do you think this is because of the instant gratification, or rank rewards not being up to par with Nightfalls?

JibJambaroo

Even if unintentionally, pleeeease don't change it :)

With all of the other feedback I'm going through (hell, look at the front page today!).... this is the last thing I'm going to prioritize in passing along.

This week at Bungie, we look towards Io.
So, you’re a few weeks into your seasonal journey. You’ve cleared the EDZ Bunker of Fallen, and have been taking the Hive to task on the Moon. You’ve reclaimed The Fourth Horseman, and maybe even completed its catalyst. So, what’s next?

Tuesday, the final Seraph bunker will open on Io. New Seraph weapons and seasonal mods enter the mix, giving you more options to build your monster-killing machine. Later in the month, Guardian Games will kick off some good old-fashioned Guardian rivalry, accompanied by the Grandmaster Nightfall difficulty.
This week, we’ll be parsing through some feedback we’ve been seeing since the season launched, and discussing next steps for emblem stat trackers.

Focused Feedback

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been watching the conversation about Season of the Worthy, and more specifically Trials of Osiris. We wanted to walk through the topics we’ve been exploring and give some basic thought... Read more

Who else do y'all want to see on a focus?

Replied on Twitter, but bringing notes here:

This is a great video/post! We've been talking to the team about the token system, reward paths, and more. While I can't make a promise for when things will be addressed, I can say this: We want Trials to be the best experience it can be, and it's not going away any time soon.

A few general notes:

  • Desirable rewards will be coming at the end of cards for the next few weeks. This should help prevent the early card farm, and push players to go for 7wins/flawless.
  • "I can't turn in tokens without X wins" - We hear you, are passing around ideas
  • Skill Creep - while this happens naturally as players come in and out of the game, there are opportunities for us to slow it, or get more players back in the fight.
  • Skill Creep - This section gave me Pro-SBMM vibes. (NOT FOR TRIALS, but for the rest of PvP)
  • ((And before a large amount of people say "No, remove SBMM from every aspect of the game!" - I hear you. This section just helps to illustrate how ...

This last weekend, I was looking at a few of my new Trials weapons and thinking, “Huh, I wonder if these have good rolls. Who do I trust to give me a weapon review with multiple points of view that could help me come to a decision?”
After some time pondering, I remembered an awesome weapon review from Season of Dawn on the Steelfeather Repeater Auto Rifle. The strengths and weaknesses of the weapon were explored, and multiple weapon rolls were presented. The review shared the perspective of a Controller user, but also from that of a keyboard and mouse pro. With a detailed overview of things to consider, I was able to come to my own conclusion on a desired roll.
I think it’s only right that this cool guy gets a bit of spotlight in our Community Focus series. Maybe you’ll find a few weapon reviews to help you understand perks, stats, and more! Enter: CoolGuy.
So, CoolGuy, what makes you so cool aside from these weapon reviews? Who are you, what do you do for a living... Read more

The iron banner quest is the one thing that keeps me from playing the game mode. It’s nothing but a time waster.

Do you feel high stat rolls, enhanced perks, and pinnacle power rewards are not enough to justify the time spent on the quest?

In other words, are there any rewards that could incentivize you to spend the time to complete the quest, or is this a hard no?

Thanks!

Many objectives throughout the quest require you to get zone captures, which is meant to push players towards them. We've seen feedback for quite some time that players don't push the objectives often enough, so I'd love to know if you feel this has helped at all.

We've seen mixed results between feedback around the Iron Banner quest over the last few seasons. While some players leave poor feedback over having to use specific weapon types, others are appreciating a wider range in sandbox when approaching the Iron Banner.

Ex: Rather than seeing every player running the norm, players are using Handcannons, SMG's, Fusion Rifles, and Bows to finish up their quest.

Sure, after you finish the quest you can default to your desired loadout, but the more hardcore among you may be running these quests 3 times. This is also leading to some players who hadn't tried Handcannons or SMG's into new territory, leading to some new playstyles or attempts at strategy.

Throwing this next part in a quo...

The team is hammering on these issues. We made a server side change last week to help address some of these errors, but are continuing to investigate the root cause.

I'll see if we can get an update this week for y'all.

echoblade

It's been just over a week of the season, give it time as i'll assume there is a bit more to come. While yes, this is starting slower than Dawn did, I doubt they cut content.

We're trying to be careful with roadmaps, leaving players to discover more content on their own, and this is an expected side effect. Definitely seeing the feedback that the season started slow, but there is indeed more coming.

Moon bunker kicks off next Tuesday, which will bring some different upgrades, another Seraph weapon, and more Heroic Lost Sectors to the fold. While some of you may have already taken a peek, Trials has more weapons and armor that will come into play over the next few weekends. Grandmaster comes in mid season, with Guardian Games and such as well.

We hope that as more seasonal content comes live, players have some positive feedback. We're still in here every day though, collecting your thoughts.
