A few days ago we discovered (and subsequently fixed) a bug in the Portal consumable that prevented some rewards from being recorded properly. The bug was live from June 4th 1:19 GMT to June 5th 5:32 GMT.

All Portals used by players during that period have been refunded, regardless of outcome. Additionally, if there is a specific Portal result that you lost due to this bug during this period, please open a ticket with customer support with the Match ID and the game time when the Portal was used.

We haven’t started a new season yet because we’ve been trying to decide whether the resets, at least in the form we’ve been doing, are productive or not. If you have any thoughts on this topic we would be interested in hearing it.

Although we don't currently have any plans for selling them later, they are not considered exclusive items in the way items marked as exclusive on the website like the Tiny Prestige or Axe Unleashed are. It's possible they will be available in the future in some form or another, but we aren't really sure yet.

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.

This update is to add some backend code support we had to implement in preparation for releasing the Tiny prestige item. We are releasing this in advance of the item to give the new code some time to stabilize. You may find some old tiny items converted to the new format throughout the day today.

We discovered and fixed a bug that affected MMR change during calibration for players. The bug affected a certain segment of players based on the values of their Core and Support MMRs. The fix for this is now live, and later today there will be an adjustment to the MMRs of the affected players to bring them their correct value.

MMRs of players affected by the bug have been corrected. Some players are lower and some are higher after this correction. Send me a recent Match ID and your username if you think you ended up lower than expected after calibration and I'll take a look.

In our recent matchmaking update blog post, we mentioned that we were working on a mechanism to accelerate smurfs to their correct rank to minimize the side effects they cause, and that we’d be rolling it out slowly. We initially started with just measuring and tagging players, but without taking any actual action for a few days as we monitored the detection mechanisms.

As part of today’s update, we feel ready to activate the rank adjustment portion of the changes. The system searches for players that frequently perform significantly above their current skill bracket, and applies an MMR increase to those players until they've reached a skill bracket where they're no longer over performing. We're starting conservatively with the amount of adjustments we are making per game, and we’ll be tweaking these values as we gain confidence in its results.

Sorry no Diretide this year. We’ve been focusing more on things like matchmaking, new player experience, and the Outlanders update.

Our plan is similar to the previous years, where it is soon after the first Major is concluded. We tend avoid broadcasting dates explicitly though because things can shift around and we wouldn't want the expectation to be a specific day if a little bit more time was needed.
