Hey Anno Community (bet you missed hearing those words over and over, eh?), we hope you enjoyed your first glimpse at Season 2 as much as we did! It is safe to say that your enthusiasm for the reveal has fueled the team since, as we are busy putting the finishing touches on Seat of Power, our first Season 2 DLC which is already releasing on March 24.
As we announced during the Season 2 reveal stream, every DLC will once again be accompanied by a free Game Update to improve the game for all our players, regardless of whether they have bought the DLC. This will start with Game Update 7, coming on March 24. However, before we share the full release notes with you closer to release, we wanted to make you aware of a few important balancing changes that may affect your cities, so you have enough time to prepare before the update hits!
So, let us talk about balancing. Seeing how Anno is mostly played as a single-player game where players spend dozens (if not hundreds) of hours slowly ... Read more

What an exciting week! In our big announcement livestream on Monday we unveiled the future of Anno 1800 and our plans for 2020. If you missed the stream or want to watch it again, we got you covered:

Since you’re already on the Anno Union you probably noticed, but… we also summarized the upcoming DLC in a dedicated blog post and a new trailer.

As a big thank you for your support and by now over a million players, we also prepared a special ornament for you which you can now find in the game.

Fittingly, this week’s Anno Afternoon is all about YOUR cities! Ubi-Thorlof and Ubi-Hanabi will take a look at several Anno 1800 cities created by community members. Time to take a stroll along beautiful boulevards, check out fleet sizes, city layouts and production centres – and maybe cause a bit of mayhem along the way.

Tune in on Friday, March 13th, at 4PM UTC over on twitch.tv/ubisoftbluebyte
A big thank you again to everyone who sent in their savegame!

Hey RazorBlade185,
the Season 2 Pass will of course also release on Steam for all owners of Anno 1800 there.
Unfortunately, this currently takes a bit longer than we hoped.
I'll update this thread as soon as we have news regarding this topic - sorry for the delay.

Prior to the release of The Passage last December, we excitedly announced our plan to deliver even more Anno 1800 to our 1 million+ pioneers of industrial revolution throughout 2020. This presents a unique opportunity for the Anno team, as it means that Anno 1800 will be receiving more postlaunch support than any previous game in the series! In the past, development of content has ended a year or so after the release of an Anno game, with the team moving on to the next title.
With Anno 1800, we are excited to have the chance to flesh out the world of the industrial revolution even further, with new systems, citizen tiers and yes, even a new continent. Enter stage right: The Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass, which will be adding three exciting new DLCs to the game this year!
Learn first details about all 3 DLC by checking our the trailer below and make sure to head over to the Anno Union for the full article.
Also, don't miss out on the celebrations for over 1 million Anno 1800 players... Read more

After installing Uplay on the other PC, you can copy the whole installation folder of the game to that PC.
If you then open your games library and select Anno 1800, there's an option to locate an installed game:

Uplay will then check the game's files to make sure they're complete (if not, the missing/broken files will need to be redownloaded) and if all is good, you can start the game.

The New Year is already over one month old – about time to share a Union Update with you, feature some great Anno 1800 creations from our community and let you know about our upcoming live streams.

Anno Afternoon Stream

This Friday our community team is traveling into the future for another Anno Afternoon. On this Anno 2070 adventure, Ubi-Thorlof invited his colleague Ubi-Hanabi – the goal: brew some tea, hug a few trees and save everyone from drowning.
Join them on their adventure over on twitch.tv/ubisoftbluebyte

And if you want your Anno 1800 city to be featured, judged and most likely also devastated live on stream, send us your save games at [email protected]! When we have gathered a few, we will show off your layouts, parks and fleets in a future Anno Afternoon. *

*We can only accept unmodded save games

Community Spotlight

As usual, we want to share some of the cool creations and stories from the community here on the Anno Union.

Hey Szaki,
sorry to hear you had issue with downloading Anno 1800 after your purchase.
The client for the trial version and the final game are different (the trial version, for example, is limited in scope) - which requires the main game to be downloaded separately.
For the same reason, savegames from the trial version are not compatible with the main game.

Hey Archdaimonia,
I get where you're coming from but at the moment there's no option to deactivate DLCs.
We have forwarded this feedback, though, since we received a few comments regarding such an option since release.

Once again we want to share a community update with you, showcase some great Anno 1800 impressions from our community and let you know about our streaming plans. Let’s go!

Anno Afternoon Stream – Retro Edition

This Friday, we’re changing things up with the Anno Afternoon. After noticing that Ubi-Thorlof has never played Ubi-Trenchcoat’s favourite game of the series – Anno 1701 –  they spontaneously decided to do a retro stream! Tune in on the 8th at 4PM UTC (5PM CET) when they’ll be diving into the The Sunken Dragon campaign.

Playtest und Game Update 6.0

The Game Update 6.0 playtest has started last week and is going very well. A big thank you to everyone who already provided their feedback in the dedicated forums. If you haven’t already – let us know your thoughts!

And if you have signed up for the playtest but haven’t received an invite yet: Do not worry. We will send another wave of invites in the coming week.

Parallel to the test our team continues their work on...

We’re back once more with a community update and some info on what to expect from us in the near future.

Anno Afternoon Stream

This Friday, Seraxia and Thorlof will put their creative hats on (most likely not literally) in another Anno Afternoon and try something completely different. You want to know more? Then don’t miss out this special livestream episode and tune on the 25th at 4PM UTC+1 (5PM CEST).

And if you got any cool or funny ideas for future streams, what better opportunity to share them with us than this Friday?

Playtest beginning next week!

As you all know the next playtest is just around the corner and as we work together with the community to get a jam-packed Game Update 6 ready for December, we will take a short break from Union blogs in the upcoming week. But worry not, we will be back soon with community news and new game information.

And we already got some exciting news this week! Keep an eye on your inbox, cause for a first wave... Read more

The invention of the light bulb was more than a mere boon to comfort and luxury. This new way of illuminating the darkness was also an inspiring force for creative minds and a motor for the industry, unshackling them from the natural rhythm of day and night. With electricity playing such an important role in Anno 1800s economy, there was a strong desire from our community to have a true day and night cycle in the game. Finally, this wish became reality with Game Update 4. As the days are getting ever shorter, what better time to shine a light on this major visual update than in todays DevBlog!
