Once a year at gamescom, hundreds of thousands of gamers from across the globe come together to celebrate games in Cologne. And once more, we want to invite all Annoholics out there to join our Community Corner sessions in the Ubisoft Lounge and to get a first glimpse of upcoming content.

The Ubisoft Lounge, which is located in the Ubisoft area in Hall 6, is our own dedicated community space where once a day, Anno fans come together to discuss all things Anno with our Community Developer, Bastian Thun. Alongside our daily stage presentations, you can rest assured that we will have some news to share with all of you!

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at gamescom 2019, as there is no advance registration to the Lounge sessions required (though we recommend to arrive early, as space is limited).

And when you are there, don’t forget to share your #Anno1800 #gamescom2019 moments with us (and the community) on Social Media!

But before we can focus on gamescom 2019, we have another small Game Update for you, which will tackle some of the bugs which came with the latest DLC “Sunken Treasures”

With July 30 less than a week away, the release of our first big Season Pass DLC „Sunken Treasures“ and our Game Update 4, which includes many quality of life changes, draws ever closer. But before we share the full release notes of GU4 with all of you, we want to talk about our upcoming “Sunken Treasures” Twitch Drop Event!

During the Event, which starts this Friday July 26, you will be able to watch how a variety of select Twitch Streamers explore Cape Trelawney and dive deep to retrieve lost treasures. But getting a preview of the upcoming content is not enough, as watchers of the streams will be able to unlock two exclusive billboard ornaments for their Anno 1800 game.

The only thing you need to do is to watch one of the selected channels playing Anno 1800 for a set amount of time while having your Uplay account linked to your Twitch account. And if you haven’t done so yet, you can check on how to link your accounts here: Ubisoft Twitch Drop FaQ

The Queen has vanished! But you track her south to sunny Cape Trelawney, site of a great naval battle. In Sunken Treasures’ new Storyline, you will set out on a journey to resurrect the glory of an empire through one of its timeless symbols, the Royal Scepter, lost to the depths during the war. Only by building a vast territorial capital, and seeking out a flea-bitten crackpot by the name of Old Nate—being among other things, an innovator in deep-sea diving—will you be able to restore the empire to its former glory. But beware, you are not the only one hoping to claim the power of the legendary artifact.

Our first big content drop for Anno 1800, Sunken Treasures, will set you on a quest for glory and riches, in which you make history, erecting a new capital to bring a dwindling empire back to its former glory.
We do not want to spoil the fun yet, but can say that an epic new questline will expand on the world of Anno 1800 and the background of its characters. In today’s DevBlog, w...

We are back with a short and fresh Community Update during a hot summer day, before we will return next week with the details to Game Update 3.2 and the winners of the propaganda video contest.

We had our German episode of our Community Corner AMA stream last Tuesday. As usual, many of you joined us to watch the stream and ask plenty of questions. We also shared some German entries to our propaganda contest and as we love to share any of your Anno 1800 creations. Is there a funny video or great fan art you stumbled across which you would like to share with us?
Quite recently, we were amused by Patteyayo Plays sarcastic tutorial for the fifths residential tier:

And if you missed the German stream, you can just watch the show in the video library of our Twitch channel.

Most of our fans don’t speak German though and for that reason, we will follow up with another episode of our Community Corner AMA stream next Wednesday at 4.30pm CEST.

Here a few information from ou...

Release Notes for Game update 3.1
After we received reports that some of the issue in Game Update 3 are not resolved and an instance leading older savegames to crash, we plan to apply an hotfix to Anno 1800 tomorrow June 7. at 2pm CEST.

• Fixed an issue blocking players from finishing the “Prosperity for All” campaign quest on savegames created prior to Game Update 3. When players now load an older save, the game will check if the prosperity quest is active but cannot be completed and will then automatically resolve the quest for the player.
• Fixed an issue that could cause a crash of the game client after loading an old savegame with an active mission.
• Fixed a stability issue with the railway system, which could cause the game to crash in some rare instances.
• Fixed an issue that locked players from constructing buildings in their coastal area.
• Fixed an issue with charter routes missing their information in the overview screen. Read more

After rubbing our eyes in disbelief when looking at the calendar, we have to face the facts- Anno 1800 is only six days away from launching the franchise into the age of the industrial evolution!

We also have some live streams to announce, and encourage you all to take another look at our beautiful open beta trailer. So let’s get started!

Let’s talk about launch

Today, we are happy to announce that Anno 1800 is leaving its harbor here in the Ubisoft Blue Byte Mainz office for its grand maiden voyage, ready to bring its proud heritage of 21 years of city building and exploration to players around the world.

We also want to send a big, heartfelt “thank you” from the whole development team to all Anno players and Anno Union supporters out there. A cityscape of smoking chimneys. Streets brimming with life, as the upper classes take to the zoo for a day out with the family. None of these evocative scenes could unfold their full impact on the player without the proper musical accompaniment. Orchestral soundtracks have always been a key part of the Anno experience, and this is no different for Anno 1800. So join us on a journey intot he creation of Anno 1800’s grand soundscapes.

Let us raise the curtain for veteran composer Tilman Sillescu (who has been working on the music for Anno games since 1701) and his team at Dynamedion, as they carry you away into the world of the industrial revolution:

And while we focused on Tilman in the video, we would be remiss to forget all the other talented composers who contributed to the game, as seen here:

If all of the above has put you into the right mood to light candles and to dust off your old record player, we have some great news for you! We have created a limited vinyl edition of the A...

You asked us earlier if we plan to add new things to the game after the big release and last week, we let the cat out of the bag (gentle-cat doesn’t mind) about our season pass and free updates during the post launch of Anno 1800. With our announcement of the season pass, we also recorded a video for all of you where we talk about our plans to expand the world of Anno 1800.

Union Talk
Luckily, Basti was far from alone with our small release celebration on Twitch. Thank you to everyone who joined our rather spontaneous stream, we had a “jolly” good time especially thanks to so many Union members chatting with us during the show.
And when we kicked off the party, we released our third Union Talk video which was, of course, pre-recorded. (Just because some folks in the chat asked us questions).

And in case you missed the whole party stream, you can watch it now here:
