Stardew Valley Dev Tracker

(2020) SDV is essentially a game comprised of what I liked best about World of WarCraft

I'm a very new player, having only installed the game last week and with a mere 41 hours at the time of this post, but it gradually dawned on me as I was gathering resources, building my farm and killing trash mobs in the mines that Stardew Valley pretty much encapsulates what I enjoyed most about the tail-end of my decade playing World of WarCraft.

I was a WoW player since literally it's 2004 launch day and spent the subsequent ten years playing daily, but thinking back the most fun I ever had wasn't the raiding or the questing or even interacting with my guildmates.

WoW became the most enjoyable after installing one of the later expansions that allowed me to build a base and gather resources to upgrade and maintain it.

I only wish I'd discovered Stardew Valley much, much earlier.

I was actually a WOW player for many years (undead mage), and while I don't play it anymore, I do think the game had an influence on my game development style. Many people describe Stardew Valley as "addictive" and I think some of that might come from the WOW influence.

Mages are best if you focus on getting achievements what with their sweet, sweet teleport ability.

Cool! yeah, mages are great. I always played as a frost mage, through thick and thin
