last year the Christmas event allowed you to still show up late and claim your gift, is it the same with this event?
After the ceremony you will be able to speak with Cough (guy you had in candy with) to get your reward. SHould be available from the end of the ceremony.
Is the Scythe pet ONLY available to people at the ceremony?
No anyone who contributed the confectionary during the week is in with a chance, if you cant be there for the annoucement you can check in with cough afterwards
