Connecting PS4 Controller to PC for Rocket League

How do you guys connect your PS4 controller to your PC to play Rocket League? I was previously connecting mine via bluetooth and it would work perfectly. Now when I pair my controller with my PC, it does not stay connected and turns off immediately. The only way I can get it to work on Rocket League is if I connect it through Steam, but I notice very bad input lag with Steam. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I started using a new controller last week and it would connect fine, but after a couple hours would disconnect. I would "forget device" then re-pair it and it would work again. With the recent RL update, it doesn't stay connected at all unless it is connect through Steam.

Any luck with an older controller? If the new one was having some sort of connectivity issue before yesterday's update, want to be able to rule out the hardware.

Settings would have changed for you if you never moved them off the original default settings. If you were already using custom values for the settings we changed, those would not have been touched.
