Wanted to provide some details/transparency on the @planetside2 server hardware upgrades we performed during our database maintenance yesterday... the tech ops team was able to complete the switch-over to the new hardware in all regions EXCEPT Emerald (US East).... (cont)

@Opopinion1 @planetside2 As of now, we plan to (finally) port over the const system, along with the Escalation update when it’s ready to release on PS4. There are some tech limitations with bringing it over to PS4 that we need resolve, so its a fairly significant undertaking. More details in a few weeks

This is correct. We met to discuss this morning and @ALapidis was able to go through the changelists in Perforce to review. Well, shit. The client publish out to the CDNs is taking WAY longer than usual. Looks like we will be unlocking PTS probably about 15 mins behind schedule (4:15pm or so). Some good news to share - the top client crash the team has been trying to track down in the @planetside2 Escalation build appears to be gone after yesterdays PTS publish. Previously, it would appear dozens of times per day. Since the new PTS build yesterday, zero.
Expecting to publish another build today with some additional polish and bug fixes before the weekend. More details to come once we have a handle on publish timing to PTS. Thank you all again for your help with the constant PTS updates.

The dev team has been combing through the list of code changes that went out with the publish and we can’t find anything definitive that would have caused this. The Daybreak TechOps team has also been verifying that there are no changes, configuration issues or hardware (cont)
Failures that might be attributing to the server latency problems that several of you are reporting. We’ve spent all day yesterday troubleshooting and continue to do so today. I’ll post more details once we have something in our sights. But for now, when you encounter (cont)
Any significant server latency while playing, please post and tag me so I can share with our engineering team. Also, please provide an indication of which server you’re playing on and where youre connecting from.
Believe me, this has been discussed as a potential cause and/or contributor to what we’re seeing. As of yesterday morning, most counties are seeing a 20-40%+ increase in Internet traffics as more quarantine measures go into effect. Some details about this population drop on Emerald starting at approximately 11:45am (Pacific) - it was a result of some configuration change that were being made by our TechOps team and CenturyLink (cont) https://twitter.com/planetside2/status/1243992837252759552
As a result of the config changes, all population on Emerald (and Z1BR if you were interested) was booted off and unable to login again. Once TechOps and CenturyLink realized what happened, they reverted and Emerald was accessible again. (Cont)

But what I will point out is that your Network Ping, which is the connection between you and the server (this is not something we control) is much better than the image you posted this morning. the sum of your Network Ping + the communication within our game servers. So those numbers should be relatively close. When the Server Latency number is drastically higher than the Network Ping, that is an indication of legitimate game server performance issues.

One note about today's @planetside2 update - as I mentioned during last week's live stream, we have been working with Daybreak TechOps team to streamline one of the steps in our publish process that was taking between 70-90 mins each time we brought the game down (cont)
In addition to the list of bug fixes/changes that went out with today's update, we've also incorporated some changes that should reduce that 70-90 min step in the process to less than 5 mins. We will not be able to fully confirm until the next time (cont)
we bring the servers down for maintenance/update. But we are confident that it will work as intended.
Before anyone asks, yes, the @planetside2 game servers appear to have an issue preventing players from logging in (I can't login either). @DaybreakGames TechOps team just pinged us and said its happening across multiple titles.
