(2020) It feels weird to see NA casters do the groups draw while LEC has a studio they can use

I'm looking at the draw show and am surprised they aren't using the LEC studio instead of the shitty webcam and sound setup from the LCS's remote setup. Is there are a reason the LEC isn't doing this? Because right now it feels like a suboptimal way to do the draw show. If they really wanted to have LCS talent on there also they could let them call in like the LEC did with players all season.

And just to be clear, this is not about LCS vs LEC or anything. If the roles were reversed I'd feel the same.

Edit: When thinking about it they also have Frosk to discuss the LPL and YamatoCannon is in Europe right now to talk about LCK seeds. I've got a bad feeling about the Worlds cast right now...

Edit2: The broadcast plan doesn't actually look too bad, they will be using the LEC studio for most things apart from casting.

Edit3: So this kinda blew up and seems the LEC crew is on holiday. And I have to say LCS production looked the best it has all year. Hope they let the LCS team cast the games that are later on the day during Worlds, so they don't have to roll out of bed in front of the camera in the middle of the night.

Azael’s response for the lazy:

They handled the heavy lifting for group draw last year - it's an insane amount of prep condensed into a super short amount of time quickly after the season ends.

If you don't have to do group draw you get weeks more to stretch out prepping for teams over - our turn this time!

EU production is in a really busy time with their EU Masters broadcasts so they asked LCS production to handle it. We obliged.

We thought group draw was a privilege, turns out it was just a chore.

We willingly obliged, because we love it!

Don't forget our team is also hosting EUM, the majority of world's and nearly no down time in-between. As such logistically and staffing wise, it just wasn't feasible. This is an over simplification, but something I've not seen discussed a lot. It's not just studio and casters, but all the production team. Remember that EUM ran during our playoffs, from our studio ( not LEC casters, but everyone behind camera is the same) and EUM is still running till this Sunday and world's starts next friday.nits tough.

Are you personally related to LCS production?

Yes, I work with the team on the LCS broadcast.
