With the new smaller game size. Is it recommended to uninstall the old larger game file and reinstall the new sleek version?

I'm on Linux. I wasn't aware the release times differ. I bought this game a few days ago.
Ah, unfortunately we'd been waiting on an update to our sound system to be able to build for Linux.
We don't currently have an ETA, but the patch is now in QA and should be released in the near future.
